Just a random internet opinion, but I think you've surpassed Spud the King and many others, and you're right up there with Italian Spartacus as the best BG3 build channel. Thumbs up.

The videos are not clickbaity in the least bit and he refuses to make cheeky statements like “THIS WILL ABSOLUTELY CHANGE HOW YOU PLAY!!!” Instead he opts for giving the players many ways to play the same thing while discussing the strengths and weaknesses.

Thanks for posting the build. I may the only bg3 fan who hadn't played this multi-class build so I really appreciate it since I am finally doing a playthrough with it.
I built an aspect of Alduin from Skyrim for my evil non-durge run, and went with a similar combo. The differences being that I started the game as a vengeance paladin to represent his might and divine mission as a world ending dragon that was once worshiped by an ancient dragon cult as a god. And upon my first level up I took a level of draconic bloodline sorcerer to take up spells that I felt best represented the shouts. He later became an oathbreaker when he killed Kahga in order to avenge Arabella's death.
My second playthrough was a sorcadin, based on a tabletop character idea. It was a very fun experience, love having the bigger spell slots for BIG smites or more sorcery points to quicken more spells or generate more smite slots.
I saw an article recently I think you'd find interesting, where the devs for the new D&D ruleset set to come out in September mentioned some of the changes they were planning, and how those changes were inspired by Baldur's Gate 3. One of them was that they were going to make Cloud of Daggers more like Moonbeam in that you can move it on your turn if you want, which will make it just so much better than it already is.
Was precisely looking for another party face after I tried your excellent Bard/Warlock build ! I'd love to see a build focusing around Illithd Powers (would fit well after the tierlist), so a very "late-game" build.
Ok. One thing that very few builds that have sorcerer dips don’t mention is that sorcerers can create almost unlimited number of spell slots up to level 5 per long rest if one of your party members (or camp followers) is a transmutation wizard that can double craft elixirs of arcane cultivation. A sorcadin with a four level sorcerer dip can create 20-25 level 4 slots and have a level 4 smite in every attack. It does make the character overpowered, however, and make the game less challenging.
I always heard about Sorcadin but haven’t really ever considered it’s impact much. Looking through the video and holy heck this thing is unreal. It’s so so strong, it has virtually no real weaknesses and can spam burst damage very easily. 2/10 bardadin might be the “meta” option for pally but this build is much harder to kill. I feel like this build is a relatively easy honor mode solo once you explore your way past level 6.
Okay, now that I've heard about heightened spell, I REALLY want to see a crowd control build. Preferably one that trivializes most encounters. Because the best fights are one sided.
A couple of things regarding items: 1. Arcane synergy circlet is best in slot for any gish, this is no exception. With mirror bonuses it will end up being something like +5 dmg on a helmet slot, can't beat that with anything else. 2. Bhaalist armor + Duelist sword is your highest damage output setup. 3. Most important item for this build is the Potion of angelic reprieve (make sure you stack 100+ of them before going for Nishtsong because otherwise you will hear the phrase "savage little warrior" waaaaay too much to keep your sanity). You can dump all of your lvl 1-2 slots into metamagic, drink potion, repeat multiple times, then turn sorcery points back into arbitrarily many lvl 4 slots and have an upcasted smite for every single one of your attacks in every single fight. It's beyond stupid, and the main reason why you would want to build this instead of swords bard.
For 1., I do really like Mask of Soul Perception late game if I know that missing would be really bad. Though I admit this is with not using Storm giant pots as a 'house rule', so if I always had the increased hit anyway then that circlet would never leave. :D Although the helm in the video is also good if you just want CC.
But how to hit with a smite? What does it depend on? The paladin doesn't have the strength to deal damage. This build is based on dexterity and charisma? Dex to hit and charisma to damage?
@@mariuszcerta1927 Smite is tied to your attack (you can even set it up as a popup in your reactions menu). If you have a finesse weapon, you use dex (or str if it's higher). Hitting is not a problem if you start out as vengeance subclass, just use the channel divinity ability on yourself (not on the enemy!) when the fight starts and you get free advantage. Attack bonuses are easy to find after the middle of act2 or so. You don't need str to deal damage, that's what smite is for. Besides, with a finesse weapon, your dex bonus is also added to your damage (it's different from 3.5E or Pathfinder). You also get the flat damage from charisma bonus if you have the oathbreaker subclass and you re-roll damage dice, including crits, with savage attacker (ends up as >45% extra damage on dice). You could use the rapier you get for rescuing Mizora (need to have Wyll in party when entering mindflayer colony), that way all of your bonuses come from charisma, which is the easiest stat to boost. +2DC and a good summon are nice as well, it's not a terrible weapon even if it does slightly less damage than Duelist's or Shar spear.
@@joehendricks3580 In some fights, yea, they work correctly to produce vulenrability on resistant targets. Not that many pierce res enemies in act3, most of the time you will be using the +2/+2 att/dmg one.
Thanks for the Vid, as always very inspiring to start a new run :D Regarding your new Mic: It sounds like it has always some kind of noise as soon as you talk + your voice reverbs like in an empty meeting room Always looking forward to your BG3 guides :)
Not BG3, but I really look forward to how the charisma classes will come together in the new dnd release later this year. Seems like it'll be even easier to mix and match.
I love doing this with one less either sorc/pal level for monk 1 instead. Just for dex pole weapons. I fully agree that dex Ancients is cool and also feels right, especially if you're an elf or half-elf, but I really like that motif of a spear wielder or quarterstaff GWF paladin, so I take the sacrifice. :D I also like having that kick bonus action, but like i said it's 100% flavour as well as dialogue. It's definitely not going to be as manysided at being this swiss army knife you've laid out.
monk 1 on dex based paladins/fighters is honestly really fun and very good, it can make your fights much smoother especially for characters without natural bonus action attacks!

Hey man i love your videos. They always inspire me to try new things. Ive recently got into modding and wonder if you will ever do any videos on mods yourself. Thanks for the quality and passion you put into your content!
im going to point out that divine smite maxes out at 4th lv. At level 11 Paladins get 1d8 radiant damage on every melee attack. This makes a full Paladin smite as hard with a 3rd level spell slot as a Paladin multiclass would with a 4th level slot. So you only get 3 extra smites a day vs a full paladin build.
Dang I didn't think about it. Although I think that after level 6 (maybe 7), another caster class gives you more than staying single paladin. It also depends on what you want to do
Personally: Smites are super overrated anyway. Paladins are much more useful for their auras and what not compared to just being used as 2 pump chumps. So then the question that matters is do you value consistent DPR + more passive support abilities, or more varied spellcasting and active CC support abilities through those spells. If it's the former, stick pure paladin. If it's the latter, go paladin/sorc.
I have 2 full playthroughs with a Lockadin with 7 Oathbreaker Paladin + 5 Great old one Warlock, and have also tried a Sorcadin 7/5 split 7 sorc 5 pal, Lockadin is much stronger in melee if you combine Half orc with Great old one Warlock for improved critical hit chance. Sorcadin has more spell variety/ damage. Both builds takes a long time to come online around level 7-8.
13:00 sure protection is really good, but you don't want to bunch up together in a fight either way. The collateral dmg from aoe effects outweigh the benefits of protection.
Only if there's dangerous aoe in the encounter - many don't have any, and many of the ones that do you mitigate almost completely with your auras. You do of course have to be careful against some enemies though!
Quick question? Why not go for Paladin 2, Sword Bard 10, you get a lot of smie slots, get social stuff from Bard/utlity, and by giving Mintahra also 2 hand crossbows together with soul mark you have very decent range damage with the Bardic attacks and for big bosses you still have a ton of smites. At lvl 10 you take Haste from Magical secrets etc.
I'm curious why you never seem to recommend half orc as a race, even on builds focused around critical hits like your blender rouge vid. Is the extra die just generally not worth it?
Half orc is pretty good for paladins thanks to a bug where the half orc feature adds an extra smite die in addition to the extra weapon die that it's supposed to add - for rogues it's less powerful because it only adds 1d4 (or 1d6) damage per crit, which is fine but not very exciting. Mostly I find it a bit annoying how relentless endurance doesn't work in BG3 because damage is all applied in seperate instances, so rather than saving you from one attack it saves you from one *part* of one attack, then you die to any rider damage. Tbh that probably biases me against them unfairly :P
Could you make a website or archive of written versions of your builds? I tend to pick some builds at the start of a playthrough and having to check back every level up or so gets to be really tedious especially when usually 4+, 20+ minute videos are relevant to the playthrough. As a side benefit of written guides you could change things more easily if the game gets updated or something like that. I know you have a lot of builds though so it would be a lot of work so I get it if you would rather just focus on making new content. Maybe you could make written guides for stuff going forward though?
Why take level 5 Sorc and not level 8 Paladin? All you got was Haste.. you could've gotten that from the two bows that let you cast it.. and instead gotten another feat.. which seems much more powerful and difficult to replicate.
My assumption is that it's better to respec at level 5 to full paladin for extra attack on time. Then go into Sorcerer the next 5 levels to get twinned haste at a reasonable time and then cap off the last two levels with Paladin stuff? Or are the protection auras worth postponing twinned haste to the very end of the game?
This build is very flexible so you can definitely build that way if you prefer! My recommendation is the order in the video, but it will of course depend on your party and playstyle
Day 5 of pitching my favorite BG3 creator a new series idea: building a viable honor mode party where all characters have the same Base Class You can do a lot with not only restricting yourself by you trying to use every subclass at least once (except for wizards and clerics lol), but also maybe even having an interesting thematic element for example your four bars could be fitting into the Beatles archetype, and you have to challenge yourself by using a Valor bard when either of the subclasses would probably do better This would also give you an awesome opportunity to talk about what strengths and weaknesses each class brings and how for example some subclasses might be great do better / worse whenever surrounded by other similar team members, finally at the end maybe at the end of each video or after you finish a series you could do a tier list ranking which of them would be the most viable in which of them would be the least viable Thanks for taking the time put of your day to read this, you're a wonderful resource to a lot of people, and I hope you consider this idea as it's one id be super interested in seeing you tackle
I've heard both, and both make sense if you think about it. Hard K makes sense if you read the word as written, but taking into consideration how "sorcerer" is pronounced, you could say it anyhow
This build should be strong right from level 1 - make sure you're using a weapon with the finesse property, so you can attack using your dexterity. If you're using a strength weapon you'll be missing frequently!
3:00 Holy crap, BG3 lets you cast ritual spells in combat without expending a spell slot? I thought it was like regular D&D where you could only cast for free outside combat but this is crazy 🤪
Question about Band of Mystic Scoundrel: you say it "allows" you to cast illusion and enchantment spells as a bonus action but doesn't it effectively "force" you to cast them as a bonus action? If the item is in effect and you don't have bonus action you can't use one of your actions to cast the spell normally anymore. Or is it a bug and only I have ever encountered that problem?
If you're hasted, you can. Thing is, by attacking, you're exhausting an action. The band kinda works like quickened spell but only for illusion/enhancement. If you wanted to use an action for a spell/cantrip, it's gotta be at the start of your turn or, if you're hasted, by using either your first or second action.
@@e-duh3529 That's exactly why I'm asking. I can't use a haste action or a bloodlust action to cast the spell normally, it requires a bonus action instead. Is it a bug in my game or does it work this way?
@@alexmashkin863 oh prolly because since you made a weapon attack, the bonus action spell takes priority I suppose. Wonder if something like that happens with war priest charges too
@@e-duh3529 Yes, it does happen with war priest charges :-) A bit differently, if you had two actions at the start of the turn, you can expend normal attacks first, but if you used normal attacks and then got hasted for example, it will force you to use bonus action attack before you can use normal attack from additional action. At least that's how it goes in my game.
Not sure if you have already but if not you could do a fun "mystery tier list", spoiler tag it, and rank the all the different allies for the last fight!
This character will use finesse weapons (daggers, shortswords, rapiers, or the magic longsword Phalar Aluve) to attack with its dexterity rather than strength

Hey, how about a playable race/subrace tierlist sometime. If you want to. Thanks.
I like Pali 2, swords bard 5, blade pact 5.
Do you think you could do a build based on using the dark urge?
Quick question? Why not go for Paladin 2, Sword Bard 10, you get a lot of smie slots, get social stuff from Bard/utlity, and by giving Mintahra also 2 hand crossbows together with soul mark you have very decent range damage with the Bardic attacks and for big bosses you still have a ton of smites. At lvl 10 you take Haste from Magical secrets etc.
My main problem with pala auras is how small their range is. You have to stay in horrible 3m bauble in melee range for it to work on your party.
Tbh that probably biases me against them unfairly :P
new ceph vid dropped and it wasn't that weird 2d game go go go
Isn't Protection bugged? It only triggers when both the character and the ally getting attacked has a shield equipped.
Great with the new mic..
U can add a background music in your videos. it will add atmosphere.
Sound is much improved since the ilithid video.
Weird question, but would you ever do a Durge themed build?
Why take level 5 Sorc and not level 8 Paladin? All you got was Haste.. you could've gotten that from the two bows that let you cast it.. and instead gotten another feat.. which seems much more powerful and difficult to replicate.
thank you for your effort!
oh yay my favorite multiclass ever ^_^
I'm just about to make this build. I would like to ask why not going for 8-4 so be able to take 3 feats and have the same amount off spell slots
Personally I think the mic makes you sound further away than normal
My assumption is that it's better to respec at level 5 to full paladin for extra attack on time. Then go into Sorcerer the next 5 levels to get twinned haste at a reasonable time and then cap off the last two levels with Paladin stuff? Or are the protection auras worth postponing twinned haste to the very end of the game?
This build is very flexible so you can definitely build that way if you prefer! My recommendation is the order in the video, but it will of course depend on your party and playstyle
magic missile is the best in removing unstoppable or what's the effect that turns any dmg into 1
Sound quality is better today
Time too try this out!
Day 5 of pitching my favorite BG3 creator a new series idea: building a viable honor mode party where all characters have the same Base Class
You can do a lot with not only restricting yourself by you trying to use every subclass at least once (except for wizards and clerics lol), but also maybe even having an interesting thematic element for example your four bars could be fitting into the Beatles archetype, and you have to challenge yourself by using a Valor bard when either of the subclasses would probably do better
This would also give you an awesome opportunity to talk about what strengths and weaknesses each class brings and how for example some subclasses might be great do better / worse whenever surrounded by other similar team members, finally at the end maybe at the end of each video or after you finish a series you could do a tier list ranking which of them would be the most viable in which of them would be the least viable
Thanks for taking the time put of your day to read this, you're a wonderful resource to a lot of people, and I hope you consider this idea as it's one id be super interested in seeing you tackle
I thought sorcadin is pronounced with hard k, I heard someone say it like that, surely it's not my inner voice, right?
I've heard both, and both make sense if you think about it. Hard K makes sense if you read the word as written, but taking into consideration how "sorcerer" is pronounced, you could say it anyhow
I enjoy your videos ❤
Thanks very much!
I'm trying this build and so far the majority of my attacks miss or do little damage. I'm only level 3. At what level does this build get strong?
This build should be strong right from level 1 - make sure you're using a weapon with the finesse property, so you can attack using your dexterity. If you're using a strength weapon you'll be missing frequently!
Is there a way to play this build with strength and two handed sword ? I don’t really like the shield sword idea
And I would put sorcerer levels after 5 level paladin because I want to see the sorcerer sooner and wait more for auras
Great build! What do you think of a pure ancients dex paladin? The support abilities I have are awesome, but any tips on maximizing damage?
Savage attacker feat
3:00 Holy crap, BG3 lets you cast ritual spells in combat without expending a spell slot? I thought it was like regular D&D where you could only cast for free outside combat but this is crazy 🤪
No, you were right. Casting a ritual spell during turn-based mode consumes a spell slot. You can't cast a ritual spell for free during combat.
Great vid.
not quite sure why isn't lvl 12 wiz1? haste scroll? headband of boogers?
That's an option!
if you have multiple paladins in your party does aura of protection stack up?
Nope
Not sure if you have already but if not you could do a fun "mystery tier list", spoiler tag it, and rank the all the different allies for the last fight!
With such low strength, wont the hit chance be really low?
This character will use finesse weapons (daggers, shortswords, rapiers, or the magic longsword Phalar Aluve) to attack with its dexterity rather than strength
@@Cephalopocalypse ah ok....i didnt know different weapons used different stats...
I accidentally broke my oath, is this still valid?
Could you do a swords bard paladin?
I'm new too the game
He did ua-cam.com/video/4O_KrBfWsrk/v-deo.htmlsi=JxtEdzDGEYeubK0x
Hello. I have a folder with a lot of builds for BG3 and honor mode. I would love to share it with you so you can do videos on them if you find some interesting. Good work!
Edit: and if someone is interested i make good builds for the game depending on what you want as i have 1300H already and years playing DnD ^^ Greettings to all
Wow!
Dont tell me this is because I asked a few hours ago on another video of yours where this guide is since you mentioned it there and it wasn't to be found! 😅😅
New video let's go!
Idk if you've done this yet or not but Swarlockadin?
great video, hated that u pronounced it "source"-adin and not "sork"-adin,
Love ❤
I also did not enjoy his pronunciation but still enjoyed the remainder of the video nonetheless. He is a great source of knowledge and he is easily a very underrated content creator for Baldurs Gate 3. Happy to comment for the algorithm.
Sorry for my bad English.
- Gyatsu from Berkeley
Enjoy your sorkerer playthroughs!
How now brown cow
MIGHT AND MAGIC MENTIONED!!! WHAT THE FUCK IS GOOD IP MANAGEMENT????
Hi, these build videos are missing a showcase part.
Agreed
Weird, other people are saying the audio is good - I'm hearing noise, I would describe it as white-noise.
W la sorca amici miei ❤
Cool
