Good stuff mate, got a couple of questions if that’s alright.
My window is fine but the rubber sealing trim that goes round the edge of the glass has gone all ganky and crusty, not like rubber no more… do I have to use the factory rubber trim to size or can I can get any sort of rubber trimming to go round the edge of the glass ? Also Is Tiger Seal alright to use for the adhesive ?
    Cheers bud.

      Hi Dylan,
Unfortunately you cant replace the glass edge rubber as it is encapsulated(moulded) to the glass in the factory, i would recommend leaving it as it is as the other options aren't straight forward.
      Other options are:
      1.Costly - Getting a new window.
2.Risk of breaking glass or terminals - Removing existing window and getting a universal glass edge trim and re bonding with polyurethane adhesive( I personally wouldn't recommend tiger seal)
      3. Risk of scratching pinch weld - Cutting the crusty trim away with a sharp blade(most modern cars have trimless windows anyway.
If it was my car and i wasn't an auto glass technician & i wanted to try 1 option i would go for option 3 as there is no cost & little risk involved.
Hope this helps & thanks for reaching out.
      Andy.

@@AUTOGLAZ1ER thanks for detailed response bud. Gutted I can’t replace the rubber part, had no idea it’s moulded to the glass. Yeah the Car itself was only 600 quid and I’ve already put 1.2k this year so as you can imagine I’m trying to keep the cost as low af as I can.
The window itself hasn’t fully come off yet but the corner was pushed off when I had a piece of wood protruded beyond the boots limit when I closed the boot. big old boot-puddle is is likely if I don’t sort it out soon.
Don’t think I explained myself properly before sorry, option 3 you mentioned would be good if it’s just a bit of mould but the actual rubber and glass has semi detached from the body.
The three garages i spoke to today all recommended the tiger seal so I’ve managed to get some of that. Why don’t you recommend tiger seal?
Cheers mate. Been googling and UA-caming all I’ve the place to figure it out.

@Dylan Hannah If your window is coming loose from the adhesive it's bonded in with, it really needs to be removed and refitted using an adhesive specifically for automotive glazing, tiger seal will probably work but all I'm saying is I personally wouldn't use it.
Talk to some independent windscreen companies, you should be able to find one that could remove and refit it for you.
If you try fixing it with tiger seal yourself and it doesn't work, then you decide to seek professional help you will struggle to get anyone to touch it as tiger seal is a nightmare to cut through once dry.
      Thanks.
      Andy.
