@@richardstill7691 Very nice...16in Perch is a Tank...I'm gonna have to try it again after deer season as long as we can still get the boat on the water.
What an awesome video, man. I just found your channel. (Bryan) I've used perch pounders before but never with raw shrimp. So much more convenient than minnows. I'm going to definitely give that a try where I fish (Lake St. Clair)
As a teenager back in the late 70s early 80s I used to have to be home by 8:00 pm on Fridays, when my dad would come home typically with 2 , 5 gal. Pails of perch this size to help clean them, BONUS, he let me take as many fillets I wanted to share with my friends , they still talk about it to this day
@@outdoorbelievin5259 thanks so much I know about the weather just asking since,. I’m wanting to get into some fishing,. No videos really out there talking about there boat,. Love all your videos especially the perch fishing hopefully I get to do some perch fishing this fall in navy pier area,. Thanks
@garyluchansky2674 you don't need to but with these Big Perch we like to bleed them out...This keeps it cleaner when you fillet the fish and keeps the meat nice and white. Makes for a better quality fillet. The smaller ones we usually don't bleed them.
@@mitchtravani2228 i have never in my life had yellow or even red perch come out with anything but white fillets. I never bleed the fish. I either clean them live or i put them immediately on ice. By the way i think we should import red pearch to stock select reservoirs. They get bigger than yellows and are just as tasty.
Nice load of fish great job great video keep it up
@chrismedaris4873 thank you....such a great trip with great friends
Im in the pontoon boat in the background! it was a hell of a day!

They are all keepers when you’re pulling them up from 55’. I watched dnr write a group of guys tickets for throwing them back
@RyanForkner very true...I have seen it as well.
Question what size boat do you have ? To take it Lake Michigan ?
@@guidetomachining 18ft...it's all about knowing the weather and what the waves are going to do throughout the day.

Any chance I can get the brand of that vertical black rod holder caddy?
So. Many. Perch!! 👏 👏👏 😎😎😎
Thanks...it was a great day.
Why do they cut the gills?

What is the model nu,ber of your veagle claw 7ft 6in perch rods
damn dude, you were catching walleyes in disguise
@@alexjay8257 They were some Big'Ol Biggins...for sure
Did I hear you say you brined the shrimp? If so in what?
Its a dry brine of Krill powder.
what size fly were you using?
What day and month was this?
This was spring fishing.
We do this November thru late march weather permitting
How far out is this? Want to try my luck at kayak fishing on the big lake but may be too far out for my liking, even with my trolling motor range
I'm not 100% but I do believe it was 2 to 3 miles out. Thanks for watching.
7 miles at least!!
7 miles out on the mudflats
Why do you snip the gills ?
Snipping the gills causes the fish to bleed out and expire very quickly...This also gets all of the blood out of the meat.
Meat taste better
Love it
Thanks for watching.
Awesome boys. You guys are like kids. Funny s?$t....just like kids. Live love fish ON.
Hahaha...I love catching fish...Thanks for watching.
Wow
Dang!
Right...that's what I thought.
So, cooked shrimp ? Looks pinkish
No...Raw shrimp is what you want...I have tried cooked and it's not as good as the raw.
what guy said the perch bite was on fire
A friend of one of the guys on the boat...it's nice to have friends that are willing to let you know of a hot bite.
Release into the grease!
Thanks....and sure did lol.
Bleeding yellow perch is totally unnecessary.
They will be red fillets if u bleed them it’s perfect white meat

Man, don't be spreading that salad shrimp secret. It's whales and more whales on shrimp. Perch pounders and shrimp.
