I found a place on the Mississippi that regularly produces perch over 15in. It has for the last 10yrs every spring but I only get those shore fishing. Haven't got one from a boat yet.
Drift fishing if you can keep your boat moving slow using a bottom weight watching the graph to keep your weight just off the bottom. Above that a couple snapping swivels with a snelled hook and most often with a minnow lip hooked.
If you call those babies big yo should come to Sweden and fish perch.... 15 inch pfft. My biggest was 18 inches and 2,8 lb and thats not even a veeery long fish for that weight. I catch 15 inches daily...
And you’re catching European perch, a different species than our American yellow perch, our perch don’t reach the same sizes as the European perch, but we make up for it in plenty of other game fish so 🤷🏻♂️
