- So testing out my 10 minute max power on a local hill. There's a typhoon just passing by at the moment, it was supposed to be clearing up but the weather forecast was off by a day. The cool weather was actually quite a nice change from the normal tropical heat.

21 degrees nice and cool 😂 over here in Ireland that's really warm lol
Not sure I'd have biked it in that heavy rain Jarrod. I admire your fortitude.
Glad the twig didn't break your derailleur or cause the chain to come off in mid-ride!
and nice little "rain resist-ness" report on various items at the end. Hope your next ride is sunny! or at least dry...
I actually quite like the rain here, it's better than the usual humid 35c days!
The weather is back to being very hot already, hopefully in November it'll start to cool down a bit!
@@JMower Yup I live in the tropics and I am very familiar with 30C+ days and endless sky-high humidity! Rain especially at night is quite welcome when it's been 33 or 34C for months on end. Aiming to get myself a Trek in 2024. That's the plan.
What a beautiful climb! I wouldn't mind cycling up that in the rain all the time, as long as it wasn't freezing cold.
100% agreed, the whole area is 'forest park', so I think there's quite a few more climbs around there that I haven't found yet!
I like the Shimano shoes
I really like Suplest shoes road and mtb 🤙
My garmin 530 does the exact same in the rain. Had a huge 200km brevet with 3400m elevation. 20% grades in some spots garmin said 4% :/ . Used strava to 'fix' the elevation in the end.
Yeah very annoying! It's perfectly fine in the dry but just not accurate at all in the rain. Not sure if it's fixed in newer units but would be interesting to find out
Nice man, good to get off the trainer and enjoy real road. So I hit a PR recently of a 20 min 311 watt. Weight still hasn't budged, and that is where I think we both will win on this goal of 4w/Kg. I need to get a gopro. What would you recommend ? as for shoes, I like my specialized white shoes, they have lasted me a long time.
Those are some big numbers! Gopro's are good, just be careful with the battery life as they run out really quickly if you have them on maximum settings.
I'll check out the specailized shoes, thanks!
Lake shoes are amazing
You can look for lake cx 238 , but its leather upper is not as durable, however it’s very comfortable.
Second option is Shimano sphyre903. These are stiffer than lake and comfortable enough and the upper material has been good so far.
Easy to maintain as well and arguably the best looking shoes.
Ended up getting lake shoes, the one with the carbon plate, they were the only ones that fitted me, ended up paying more than I wanted for only just getting into road cycling 😂 they seem really good so far
Wide feet problems. Lake will have your size.
Thanks! Will look into both!
I have very wide feet, will definitely check out lake! Thanks!
