SHINee have been around 13 years so they have tooooons of content. I recommend starting with the videos in my first reply and watching them in order of how they were listed. It showcases SHINee's vocals, intensity and passion. Then watch their MVs in order since debut (if you're interested in doing a mini series!) Then you'll likely find yourself flooded with recommendations by other shawols. But it depends on what you're most interested in! A little bit to get you started: Minho - He's super sweet (esp with fans) and amazing with kids. Very charismatic, competitive and athletic. He loves the outdoors too. SHINee is the legendary group that debuted all the way back in 2008 and still look super young (they debut at such tender age). They are known as the Princes of KPOP and Kings of live performances because they sound so so much better live than CDs (they sang live from debut and hardly ever lip sync). SHINee is a vocal powerhouse with two members being among the best in the industry (Jonghyun and Onew). Each member has very distinct and different tones and flavours to their voices and together is what makes SHINee so unique (they are also harmonisation kings). As many have mentioned, Taemin is the Dance King, a title admitted by many people in the industry, professionals and the general public. As you know Minho is an incredible actor and also an amazing singer as well as rapper. And Key, the talented all-rounder artist and also a fashion icon (he is SHINee's fashion designer and director as well as Vogue's fashion editor who has worked with many renowned designers) on top of an actor and master of variety shows. They started as a contemporary group that aims to be trendsetters in music, dance, fashion etc and boy they delivered big time. If you were to go through their discographies from 2008 till now, you'll realise very quickly that they never stick to a specific genre or sound. They are very experimental and no matter how weird some of their songs sounds to certain people, they always made them work the SHINee way and still manage to make them sound very SHINee-like. And aside from having many admirers, they also maintain good friendship with other artists like IU, Lee Hi, BTS (V is close to Minho and Jimin is close friends with Taemin whom he admired). As many have mentioned, SHINee indeed lost a super talented, soft and special brother who became their guardian angel. Taemin was a major influence on Jimin and now they are great friends. All of the Shinee members do lots of other activities. Taemin is a very popular and successful solo artist and if you haven't seen his MVs you're really missing out. Shinee are legendary performers especially in concert.

As a ARMY myself and SHAWOL on top of being a OG Kpop Multi-stan since 2007, I can say you won’t regret it 😁 They’re opened so many doors for today’s generation of kpop artists, SHINee isn’t called the “Princes of Kpop” for nothing; they constantly set the bar so high for all the artists that have ever debuted after them because their vocals are extremely unique that they’re irreplaceable including their SHINeeifed choreography and fashion.

Minho is actually very competitive but at the same time very gentle and humble.You should watch his ISAC and dreamteam clips for his competitiveness. He is very well mannered and treats girls very nicely. You can check Jessi's Showterview with Minho for that. It's hilarious. And he also went viral for his appearance with Milanea trump. That clip was super cute and funny. He is Korean government's favourite choice for greeting different foreign nationals at different state visits. He is the main rapper. But he can sing and dance very well.

The kings at the time was Big Bang. in terms of the Hallyu wave, shinee was the first to be invited to perform at the Tokyo Dome (Japan doesn't allow lipsynched concerts) and Abbey Road studio UK. They sell out stadiums all over the North and South America's and pretty much got the kpop boy band fever started. they have so much affection and respect for their Japanese fans and I am 🙏grateful for the Japanese shawols. Although they don't get credit for the first fanlight, how it started was their Japanese concert venues goers gets these light sticks with the concert details and lights on to help them get to their seats. When they started their North American tour, the shawols were disappointed that their venues didn't provide the light sticks. Japanese shawols actually collected and shipped lightsticks to the North American shawols for them. SM didn't produce proper fanlight for them until much later though. When other companies had already made theirs. So that's trivia for tonight. The original lightsticks were actually simple lightsticks and we can thank shinee's Japanese shawols for that. And the record for brightest lightstick go to the Shabat. Minho clocked the shawol during an international soccer match broadcast from across the stadium.

I'd recommend watching some of their live performances like Excuse Me Miss or Odd Eye, two of my favorite's featuring all five Members. Also the song Replay, that is legendary. They have an incredible discography closing in on 200 songs, and each member's solo content equates to approximately another 120+ songs. You have A LOT to enjoy if you like what you see. Shinee's famous for their live performances, as they are note perfect live and help pioneer the kind of technical dancing you see in 3rd and 4th gen. Becoming a Shinee fan now is better than ever because the guys are so mature and seasoned as you saw. They are true artists now and we're seeing them control their own creative direction. Theyre also releasing much more candid behind the scenes content than they did before which allows fans to get to know them more personally. As people and as a team, they are one of the closest, and most loving, and frankly most chaotic groups there are. They're like real brothers.

His father is a very well-known football coach in Korea. But he's also very loyal and a good friend with many people. So, yes, his character in Hwarang was close to his real character. He is probably even a good fighter, having served for almost two years in Marines :)

Minho is a real sweety and a huge fan of his bandmates. He goes to their solo concerts, etc and cheers them on. Taemin is the one with Jimin vibes, which figures because they are close friends (and have danced together). Onew was in Descendants of the Sun, if you saw that and is a vocal powerhouse (Opera? Yes he can). Key is an incredible chef, a style icon and a comedy savage.

Minho is known as Choi tender heart because he is the sweetest. Kids love him too...watch him in the return of Superman but at the same time he is known as the most athletic idol excelling in many sports like soccer basketball swimming high jump hurdle among others thus he is also very competitive.

They were my first K-Pop group back in 2009 so it's funny for me to think of them as an older generation (realistically I'm just old too lmao). Their albums are really solid and they're also naturally funny so if you're delving further into them you have a lot to look forward to. Kai, Taemin and Jimin are all best friends. Like some kinda of dancing cult or something. Taemin is with Kai in a group called Superm where they take turns being the visual and center of the group. Essentially SHINee is while all your favorite idols became an idol. There’s so many compilations Of idols basically treating Taemin like a god.
With this comeback, SHINee are just doing what we have all come to expect from them -- showing us something that has never been seen or heard before and starting a new trend. Nothing you hear from them will ever be like anything you have ever seen or heard before. They raise the bar even higher with every comeback. And that's what makes them SHINee. :D With every new song release, SHINee are expected to come out with a style and sound that is brand new, not only for them, but in the industry as a whole. And "Don't Call Me" is a perfect example of that. What you just experienced is exactly what makes SHINee legends. And this is the reason why they are so highly respected, and why almost everyone in the industry who came after them cites them as one of their biggest influences and one of the reasons why they wanted to become a singer and dancer, etc. SHINee are one of the most iconic and influential groups. Taemin truly is art when it comes to his performances. Although Jonghyun wasn't in the MV -- because he passed away 3 years ago -- in order to get to know SHINee, you have to get to know him as well. He is known as one of the best vocalist in Kpop who was one of the most prolific songwriters and composers of his generation. The ONLY thing they are not good at is lip syncing so they avoid it at all costs, so when you hear SHINee singing 95% of the time it will be live. It's a running joke between the fans and the members that when SHINee lip syncs you can tell because it's very obvious. Yes, over the years they have become better at lip syncing then they used to be, but now they have gained the reputation as the group that always sings live, so unless they are required to lip sync for a specific reason, SHINee will always sing live. They have trained their entire career to be able to sing live and always sound flawless while performing extremely complex choreography. SHINee set the standard. That is why they are so highly respected among their peers. It is literally referred to as the SHINee standard. It's the standard all other groups strive to reach.
@@Yetti. SHINee are Kpop royalty, and I don't think you would be able to find a single person within the Korean Entertainment industry that doesn't worship them like they are top teer, and god-like. Even as rookies, senior idols and industry experts used to praise SHINee as one of the best in the industry because their live vocals and dance skills were so impressive. And over the years they have only become more and more magnificent. As I am sure others have mentioned, Jimin and Taemin are really good friends and they are both part of a group of Idol friends, called "The Padding crew" -- which is named after the puffy winter jackets that they all wear as a sort of group uniform :D. The padding crew consists of: Taemin from SHINee, Kai from EXO, Timoteo from HotShot, Ravi from VIXX, Jimin from BTS, Ha Sungwoon from Wanna One and non-celebrity friend from school Jung Kwonho, who Taemin and Kai have known since they were kids.(Timoteo was an SM trainee at the same time Kai and Taemin were trainees, but he left SM and eventually became a member of HOTSHOT which is a Star Crew Entertainment group.) Fun fact:Taemin and Kai are one of the most iconic best friend pairs in the industry and they are considered the top two best dancers in the entire industry by their peers and the industry as a whole. They are so much alike that many within the industry think of them as "twins." They have so much in common that they even have some of the same nicknames.

Taemin is called "The Idol of Idols" and "The God Tier" he was actually Jimin's inspiration to become an idol in the first place. Many Idols were inspired by SHINee. They're kind of a big deal in the kpop world. Taemin is also known as the king of dance in kpop and for good reason. I HIGHLY recommend checking out his solo work because omg.... Taemin debuted at the age of 14 I think it was so in older SHINee videos he's just the cute little baby of the group but now that he's older he's just WOW! It just surprises me when people don't know about him because even when I first got into kpop which was only a few years ago, I had at least heard of him and I only listened to BTS back then. When I watched his solo videos all I could think was that he was really living up to, and surpassing, all the legendary hype that I had heard about him. Literally all of his MV's are iconic. Not to mention he's insanely good looking lol. His personality though is what really gave him the ult status for me. He is unfailingly kind and genuine and with his members he is a total brat fully embracing his maknae status in the group lol. On stage, he's the sexiest man ever, offstage he's the cutest and most precious little baby. He absolutely LOVES interacting with his fans too, he even does live streams from his house showing off his new little kitten.

I could probably go on about Taemin forever 🤣 Like how his eyes are sooo clear and literally freaking sparkle wtf.... His sweet smile, that *odorable* laugh, the unique shape of his lips.... How he goes from being the most sensual and seductive person on the planet to adorable little brat in .02 seconds. The way he teases the other members and then after acting like the biggest brat he does that little chuckle or has the biggest grin on his face. Watching him play with Kkoong literally makes my heart melt like omfg he is so cute and sweet. His heart literally is like pure gold, like I don't think he has a single mean bone in that precious body. He's like the brightest ray of sunshine who looks like he is gracefully floating on a breeze when he dances lol. He's so mesmerizing 🤩 I love how he's just been literally glowing now that all of the members are back with him.

I really love how you two were like, "wait can we talk about him? in these dramas hes this and that, but here hes this and that" i love that so much hahaha, thanks for paying attention on Minho in his dramas! :) this is a fun reaction, i enjoyed watching it :) ps: and minho in dramas might be calm, but in real life hes so active, "chaotic" (in a funny way ofc), and loud hahaha. he definitely has similar energy with what you're seeing in Dont Call Me, but Minho is actually a goofball too. Hes a baby to older people, a mature friend to same age ones, and a nice older brother to younger ones. Known as one of the most SM passionate three (with Yunho TVXQ and Siwon SJ) and is hella competitive too! fun fact, Choi Minho was (and i think still is) one of the most legendary sport-idol because of his performances in Dream Team and ISAC (idols / celebrities sport competition shows). People associate him with sports, like really a lot. Minho is also so nice and so kind, and really caring. He also loves kids. Also hes known as a 'man with manner'. The second member after Jonghyun who contributed a lot in writing lyrics for SHINee songs and has lyrics copyrights under his name. SHINee was HUGE when I first got to know Kpop they were one of the leaders of the Hallyu wave across Asia and how Kpop spread - ask anyone and they’ll know Ring Ding Dong by SHINee. And really no kidding when we talk about talented. All of them can sing - I think as many other mentioned you can check out their cover of Dear Name by IU on her recent episode IU palette or "Shinee Best Vocals" You’ll probably get what we mean haha. Minho - nah he’s not so savage in real life. He’s an ABSOLUTE sweetheart and pure hearted. Friends with many idols and girl idols and no scandals would appear because it’s Minho. Very athletic (dad is a soccer coach), was the ACE of an athletic show called dream team (like ninja course/wipeout challenge sort), won many idol athletics. Known for being very very good with children. Although he’s the main rapper, he’s also a very good vocalist but you won’t hear him on title tracks. It’s the b-sides. Minho is the heart of SHINee. Taemin (maknae) - the one you said gave Jimin vibes. Debuted with SHINee at the very very tender age of 14. Main dancer of the group - main talent he auditioned with and he has a unique style and is a very good dancer (I’m saying this as a dancer too). Very very respected in the idol world and is the idol of many idols. He worked extremely hard from being main dancer to now his own solos and vocalist. Baby of SHINee, basically raised by his hyungs in SHINee - pampered and spoilt Taemin. You can tell how he just completely relaxed back to being the youngest in the group with SHINee after his hyungs came back from military and how happy he is. Basically his home since he spent half his life with them. Can’t stop talking about SHINee. Onew - oldest and leader of the group. The honey voice, extreme range but still stable and has depth. Main vocal and very distinct tone in Kpop. AMAZING VOCALIST and damn good breath control - held longest note for 40 seconds and performed an opera song. Introvert and quite reserved. Very humble. May not say a lot but he has a huge presence in the group. you can see how the other boys love him and look up to him. He is like the comfort spot for the group. Key - sassy, absolute savage. The attitude of the group. Came into SM as a genius - talented all rounder and does everything in the group - vocal, dance, rap. Natural savage but you can tell he loves the rest. Took extremely good care of taemin who was growing up in early days. Jonghyun - an angel. Main vocalist and talented musician, producer and songwriter. Many of SHINees songs have a Jonghyun flavor that made SHINee unique. Unfortunately Jonghyun passed on a few years ago as he battled depression. Our boys have been through a lot and it’s amazing how they have still continued even with JongHyuns passing. They always remember him and call themselves SHINee 5 and you can tell that they are still hurting. But they are stronger than ever now and sticking close to one another 💙

You have onew in there he was in the drama descendents of the sun. The guy you said looked like jimin is taemin he is jimins best friend they have taken trips together. Taemin if you Google Michael Jackson of kpop taemin pops up. If you want to see why check out taemins solo stuff like criminal and idea mv. You can stan a group but because of music you can love other groups too. They are all connected even in different management company because they become really good friends. You can't go wrong going down a Shinee UA-cam rabbit hole. There are too many songs to recommend. They are good at every type of genre and vibe they try. Their dance moves are always sharp and their fashion is always surprising. Some of their songs off the last album (with just 4 members) are really good. I would recommend Countless, I want You, and Our Page (which talks about their feelings of losing Jonghyun.) All of their videos are good. Their Shinee World tour videos that are on here too are epic. Look for Excuse me Miss. They each have solo songs as well. Taemin has the most solo albums (Want and Move are both amazing.) Also watch their weekly idol episodes to see their characters. They are hilarious and super clever.

Yaaay i just can't wait for u to get more into SHINee! SHINee are really blunt and savage sometimes which is something i love so much because most idols would never act like this. SHINee once went to a show called "Weekly idol" The hosts of this show are known that they always roast the guests that come on their show but when SHINee appeared on the show the hosts literally couldn't say anything about the members because they would roast them back and they wouldn't hold back lol.

Thankyou for taking time to meet these fantastic men. I hope you look into some more of their work, if you do you will realise how influential they have. This is what we need more of. Stepping outside your comfort zone is not always easy, but you never know what you may discover. Talent is talent and acknowlaging another's group's abilities and contribution to the kpop world takes nothing for our favourites. I would love to see fandoms standing together more. Oh and as a side note I hope this will give all army some comfort that military service is not the end for your members. They 3 are considered the best Dancers in kpop and they are best friends and they hang out together all the time 😍❤️ Taemin is considered like a MJ of South Korea, cause he has his own unique style and is so much inspired from MJ... Glad you guys enjoyed it. Plenty more to enjoy if you listen to their back catalogue - Story of Light, Odd, Lucifer, Everybody - they always reinvent themselves and are ahead of the game in concepts, music, dance and fashion. I’ve never seen a group dance so hard or sing so perfectly in all my life like their life depended on it. They literally have auto tune built into their vocals. They are legends still to this day.

I had the chance to see shinee (among some other legends in kpop and 2nd gen) in nj and let me say.. they really are legends. It's been amazing seeing them grow artistry wise. They had what's considered to be the perfect debut w replay (it came out in 2008).. and one of the first kpop groups to use choreography and having really hard choreo. They were originally 5 members but one passed away. Each thro had successful careers outside the group..my faves are taemin and key...

SHINee is the group that brought me into kpop....and i'm really proud to be a Shawol.... They are making their comeback this year with their 7th full length album after 3 of their members Onew, Key and Minho came back from their military service.... This is their come back after almost 2 and a half years....
This is Shani’s experience for 13 years. They are very professional and very serious in their work, and they master it unlike their normal lives. They are very comfortable, very natural and humble. In fact, I advise you to watch SHINee’s live shows. They are really the kings of the theater. 😍😎👌
About Minho: He's a very kind person to both his family and other people. He's not actually so savage but he surprises us especially at concerts🔥 he clearly shows his reaction when he gets angry with something (he goggles immediately/sorry for my english) he is a very competitive person. Losing is not written in his book. He always supports to members. He's a very funny person(make sure you hear his laughter😂😍) he can't reveal his sadness too much. He had many disagreements with Key during when they're trainee but they get along very well now even though they have small bickering. he eats well but doesn't gain weight. (There are many things but i cant remember now)

Thank you for reacting to this. Super appreciated. SHINee debuted in 2008 and have been considered trendsetters too, they usually release something diff from mainstream music. Also a lot of newer idols look up to them. Some things about Minho, he is actually a very sweet and loving person - he is good with kids. He is also athletic and very good in sports and can be very competitive. The one you said who could dance and has Jimin vibes is Taemin -considered by many as one of the best dancers ever. He is friends with Jimin too.

It is so cute - as are most of the SM relay dance videos, though SHINee is always extra funny. Also, SHINee recently did an excellent live cover of IU's "Dear Name" and a live version of "Kind" (from the current SHINee album) on IU's Palette. Actually, in the same episode, IU does a live cover of SHINee's classic - Sherlock - which is also very much worth watching.

They've performed - hilariously - on Korea's version of Saturday Night Live many times. And have you seen their recent send-ups of Kpop "ending fairy" poses? I don't listen to much k-pop apart from BTS but I also recently found Shinee and I just fell so HARD. Love them! They're all so freaking talented, sweet and funny. And this song doesn't even feature Jonghyun with his gorgeous vocals (still love the song though). Lately I've also been getting into Taemin's solo work a lot, which I'm loving. All of the shinee members have done solo work though (my bias is Key/Kibum)! Honestly I could recommend so much more but I think this is enough haha. Definitely check out a guide if you want to get to know the members more :) Please keep in mind Jonghyun passed away in 2017. But don't let that scare you away from reacting to his stuff. Shinee to this day say they are forever 5.

SHINee have been around 13 years so they have tooooons of content. I recommend starting with the videos in my first reply and watching them in order of how they were listed. It showcases SHINee's vocals, intensity and passion. Then watch their MVs in order since debut (if you're interested in doing a mini series!) Then you'll likely find yourself flooded with recommendations by other shawols. But it depends on what you're most interested in!
A little bit to get you started:
Minho - He's super sweet (esp with fans) and amazing with kids. Very charismatic, competitive and athletic. He loves the outdoors too. Very supportive of the members in the group. His laugh is... special
Onew/Jinki - Can be quiet because he prefers letting the other members take the spotlight (hes the leader). Amazing voice, VERY strong, and very intelligent. Clumsy as heck and his fingers can break walnuts. Pun + dad joke king.
Key/Kibum - Girl group dancing king. A diva. Fashion designer (helped make the outfits for Dont Call Me and many others for shinee). He donates/volunteers at orphanages, is great with kids, and is tsundere (can appear stoic/sarcastic) but super sensitive/cries very easily. Also super sweet/bashful with his fans.
Taemin - His new kitten rules his entire life. He's learning english to talk to international fans. Amazing soloist and called the 'michael jackson of kpop'. An angel and a devil at the same time (his duality of his Criminal MV to his cuteness off-stage is insane). He also participates in charities.

They are known as the Princes of KPOP and Kings of live performances because they sound so so much better live than CDs (they sang live from debut and hardly ever lip sync). SHINee is a vocal powerhouse with two members being among the best in the industry (Jonghyun and Onew). Each member has very distinct and different tones and flavours to their voices and together is what makes SHINee so unique (they are also harmonisation kings). As many have mentioned, Taemin is the Dance King, a title admitted by many people in the industry, professionals and the general public. As you know Minho is an incredible actor and also an amazing singer as well as rapper. And Key, the talented all-rounder artist and also a fashion icon (he is SHINee's fashion designer and director as well as Vogue's fashion editor who has worked with many renowned designers) on top of an actor and master of variety shows.
They started as a contemporary group that aims to be trendsetters in music, dance, fashion etc and boy they delivered big time. If you were to go through their discographies from 2008 till now, you'll realise very quickly that they never stick to a specific genre or sound. They are very experimental and no matter how weird some of their songs sounds to certain people, they always made them work the SHINee way and still manage to make them sound very SHINee-like. Their dance routines are also known to be revolutionary and very powerful. (they were the ones who introduced complex and intense choreographies in the KPOP scene as well as started the dance practice video trend). That is why many have admitted that SHINee sets the standard and SHINee is its own genre.
Many 3rd and 4th generation idols have regarded SHINee as their idol and inspiration. They are also very respected and loved by the people in the industry, including staff members as they remain humble, respectful and friendly despite being super senior. And aside from having many admirers, they also maintain good friendship with other artists like IU, Lee Hi, BTS (V is close to Minho and Jimin is close friends with Taemin whom he admired). As many have mentioned, SHINee indeed lost a super talented, soft and special brother who became their guardian angel. But they have made it very clear that SHINee is forever 5 and together with Shawols, will protect his legacy and to continue the dreams of five young boys till the very end.

in terms of the Hallyu wave, shinee was the first to be invited to perform at the Tokyo Dome (Japan doesn't allow lipsynched concerts) and Abbey Road studio UK. They sell out stadiums all over the North and South America's and pretty much got the kpop boy band fever started.
they have so much affection and respect for their Japanese fans and I am 🙏grateful for the Japanese shawols. Although they don't get credit for the first fanlight, how it started was their Japanese concert venues goers gets these light sticks with the concert details and lights on to help them get to their seats. When they started their North American tour, the shawols were disappointed that their venues didn't provide the light sticks. Japanese shawols actually collected and shipped lightsticks to the North American shawols for them.
SM didn't produce proper fanlight for them until much later though. When other companies had already made theirs. So that's trivia for tonight. The original lightsticks were actually simple lightsticks and we can thank shinee's Japanese shawols for that. And the record for brightest lightstick go to the Shabat. Minho clocked the shawol during an international soccer match broadcast from across the stadium.

I'd recommend watching some of their live performances like Excuse Me Miss or Odd Eye, two of my favorite's featuring all five Members. Also the song Replay, that is legendary. Members Taemin and Jonghyun have a lot of solo music that is just beautiful. You really should listen to more. Onew, Minho. Key, Taemin and Beautiful Jonghyun RIP 🙏. 💫

Shinee's famous for their live performances, as they are note perfect live and help pioneer the kind of technical dancing you see in 3rd and 4th gen.
Becoming a Shinee fan now is better than ever because the guys are so mature and seasoned as you saw. They are true artists now and we're seeing them control their own creative direction. Theyre also releasing much more candid behind the scenes content than they did before which allows fans to get to know them more personally.
As people and as a team, they are one of the closest, and most loving, and frankly most chaotic groups there are. They're like real brothers.

His father is a very well-known football coach in Korea. But he's also very loyal and a good friend with many people. So, yes, his character in Hwarang was close to his real character. He is probably even a good fighter, having served for almost two years in Marines :)

Minho is a real sweety and a huge fan of his bandmates. He goes to their solo concerts, etc and cheers them on. Taemin is the one with Jimin vibes, which figures because they are close friends (and have danced together). Onew was in Descendants of the Sun, if you saw that and is a vocal powerhouse (Opera? Yes he can). Key is an incredible chef, a style icon and a comedy savage.

They were my first K-Pop group back in 2009 so it's funny for me to think of them as an older generation (realistically I'm just old too lmao). Their albums are really solid and they're also naturally funny so if you're delving further into them you have a lot to look forward to.
Also, you need to watch Taemin's solo videos because they are... something else 😅

Kai, Taemin and Jimin are all best friends. Like some kinda of dancing cult or something. Taemin is with Kai in a group called Superm where they take turns being the visual and center of the group. Essentially SHINee is while all your favorite idols became an idol. There’s so many compilations Of idols basically treating Taemin like a god.

With this comeback, SHINee are just doing what we have all come to expect from them -- showing us something that has never been seen or heard before and starting a new trend. Nothing you hear from them will ever be like anything you have ever seen or heard before. They raise the bar even higher with every comeback. And that's what makes them SHINee. :D With every new song release, SHINee are expected to come out with a style and sound that is brand new, not only for them, but in the industry as a whole. And "Don't Call Me" is a perfect example of that.
What you just experienced is exactly what makes SHINee legends. And this is the reason why they are so highly respected, and why almost everyone in the industry who came after them cites them as one of their biggest influences and one of the reasons why they wanted to become a singer and dancer, etc.
SHINee are one of the most iconic and influential groups. They are always setting trends, never following them. SHINee where designed to be SM's experimental boy group, so everything they do is meant to be the first and they are expected to set the trend. With every new song SHINee produces it's expected to be different than the last, so you will never hear the same style or sound from them in any of their songs, even on the same album, and yet, somehow it will always sound like SHINee.
The industry looks to SHINee to show them what the next song style and dance trend will be. And it is said that within 3 months of SHINee releasing their new song and choreography, you will see that same sound and style being duplicated across the industry with every comeback to follow from both boy groups and girl groups. So SHINee are part of the second generation of Kpop and yet they are younger than most everyone in their generation and are the same age or even younger than many other groups, such as EXO and BTS, etc. which are part of Kpop's third generation. SHINee debuted young and have the experience of seasoned veterans.
When SHINee debuted in 2008, Onew (the leader and lead vocalist) was 18, Jonghyun (the main vocalist and songwriter) had just turned 18, Minho (the main rapper and sub-vocalist) and Key (lead vocalist and sub-rapper) were 16 and Taemin (Main dancer and lead vocalist) was 14, so now they are all in their late 20s and early 30s. (Onew just turned 31 in December.) SHINee are some of the most well respected artists in the industry.
Onew (Pronounced Oh-New, real name Lee JinKi) -- the one with the hoodie -- is the leader of the group and he has one of the most unique and best voices in the industry. (Onew means, or sounds like, the Korean words for soft or gentle, so he was given his stage name because he has a very calm and gentle personality.) His vocals are unmatched. He even holds the record (40+ seconds) for the longest continuous note without changing tone or pitch, etc.
Key -- the one with the feather headpiece -- is our diva and fashionista of the group who is SHINee's stylist for a lot of their MVs and stage outfits. SHINee are known for setting trends and never being afraid to experiment, so Key is known for really paying attention to detail when it comes to fashion. He is known for always being unique and wanting to stand out. He is an amazing singer and is a sub-rapper in the group. He is also known as SHINee's dance copy machine. Key has the ability to see and remember choreography the fastest in the group. He only needs to watch the dance once and he has it memorized. He is also SHINee's fluent English speaker, and he is almost as good as a native speaker.
Minho -- the one with the red hair -- is the main rapper and visual of the group, but his vocals are also some of the best in the industry. Minho sings just as much as he raps. He also writes most of his own raps in SHINee's songs. Minho is a top actor and he has starred in numerous dramas and movies. He is also known as a top athlete. He says these days he goes to the gym a couple of times a day to work out just because he likes to work out, but he is also crazy about soccer, and he plays basketball, baseball and golf, and he is good at track and field events, etc., as well. And not only does he enjoy playing all those sports, but he is usually the best athlete on the field and he pretty much wins every time. Minho's nickname is "Flaming Charisma," and one reason is for his intense passion for sports and his need to always win.
And Taemin -- the one with the bandanna on his head -- is considered one of the top two BEST dancers in the entire industry, and that's not just by fans but by everyone in the industry, including his peers. Taemin's nickname is the Korean Michael Jackson. He is also one of the most popular solo artists in the industry and he is a member of the Kpop supergroup SuperM. Taemin truly is art when it comes to his performances.
Although Jonghyun wasn't in the MV -- because he passed away 3 years ago -- in order to get to know SHINee, you have to get to know him as well. He is known as one of the best vocalist in Kpop who was one of the most prolific songwriters and composers of his generation. Jonghyun wrote and composed almost 40% of SHINee's songs, plus he wrote all of his own solo songs and numerous songs for other artists, such as EXO's "Playboy" and songs for Taemin, IU and Lee HI, etc., as well as participated in several movie and drama OSTs. He was one of the only SM artists to be given complete artistic control over his work, including several of SHINee's song selections. SM knew that if Jonghyun was involved in any way that the song would be a hit. He was extremely respected within the industry as a songwriter, composer and singer. He was one of the very first Idols to be known for this songwriting and composing skills. As the main vocalist, Jonghyun is the reason why Taemin is the amazing singer and performer that he is today. Jonghyun taught Taemin everything he knows and you can feel Jonghyun's influence everytime Taemin sings, especially when he's performing with SHINee.
SHINee are one of the top groups that are known for the fact that they all can do it all. They are a group of 5 amazing vocalists, 5 impressive dancers, 5 visuals, 5 rappers, 5 top actors, and 5 of the most talented and unique voices in all of Kpop. Once you get to know their voices you will always be able to pick them out of a crowd just by the sound of their voice. Most fans (SHINee World or Shawol for short) will tell you we know who is speaking or singing within 1 second even with our eyes closed, with them standing in a crowd of screaming fans. Each of their voices are that unique -- there is no one with a voice like any of theirs. That is why they are "The Princes of Kpop".
SHINee are known for their live vocals and amazing dancing. They are known as CD-quality singers because they sound just as good live, if not better, than they do recorded. SHINee always sings live. The ONLY thing they are not good at is lip syncing so they avoid it at all costs, so when you hear SHINee singing 95% of the time it will be live. It's a running joke between the fans and the members that when SHINee lip syncs you can tell because it's very obvious. Yes, over the years they have become better at lip syncing then they used to be, but now they have gained the reputation as the group that always sings live, so unless they are required to lip sync for a specific reason, SHINee will always sing live. They have trained their entire career to be able to sing live and always sound flawless while performing extremely complex choreography. SHINee set the standard. That is why they are so highly respected among their peers. It is literally referred to as the SHINee standard. It's the standard all other groups strive to reach.

@@Yetti. SHINee are Kpop royalty, and I don't think you would be able to find a single person within the Korean Entertainment industry that doesn't worship them like they are top teer, and god-like. Even as rookies, senior idols and industry experts used to praise SHINee as one of the best in the industry because their live vocals and dance skills were so impressive. And over the years they have only become more and more magnificent.
As I am sure others have mentioned, Jimin and Taemin are really good friends and they are both part of a group of Idol friends, called "The Padding crew" -- which is named after the puffy winter jackets that they all wear as a sort of group uniform :D. The padding crew consists of: Taemin from SHINee, Kai from EXO, Timoteo from HotShot, Ravi from VIXX, Jimin from BTS, Ha Sungwoon from Wanna One and non-celebrity friend from school Jung Kwonho, who Taemin and Kai have known since they were kids.(Timoteo was an SM trainee at the same time Kai and Taemin were trainees, but he left SM and eventually became a member of HOTSHOT which is a Star Crew Entertainment group.)
Fun fact:Taemin and Kai are one of the most iconic best friend pairs in the industry and they are considered the top two best dancers in the entire industry by their peers and the industry as a whole. They are so much alike that many within the industry think of them as "twins." They have so much in common that they even have some of the same nicknames.

Holy hell..... There's really people that don't know about Taemin..... I need to process..... Taemin is called "The Idol of Idols" and "The God Tier" he was actually Jimin's inspiration to become an idol in the first place. Many Idols were inspired by SHINee. They're kind of a big deal in the kpop world. Taemin is also known as the king of dance in kpop and for good reason. I HIGHLY recommend checking out his solo work because omg.... Literally everything that he does is just pure art. (Taemin is the one you said gave you JImin vibes)

@@Yetti. Taemin is my ult for life! Originally Jonghyun was my bias when I saw old SHINee videos but Taemin was also a literal baby then sooo... lol. Taemin debuted at the age of 14 I think it was so in older SHINee videos he's just the cute little baby of the group but now that he's older he's just WOW! It just surprises me when people don't know about him because even when I first got into kpop which was only a few years ago, I had at least heard of him and I only listened to BTS back then. When I watched his solo videos all I could think was that he was really living up to, and surpassing, all the legendary hype that I had heard about him. Literally all of his MV's are iconic. Not to mention he's insanely good looking lol. His personality though is what really gave him the ult status for me. He is unfailingly kind and genuine and with his members he is a total brat fully embracing his maknae status in the group lol. On stage, he's the sexiest man ever, offstage he's the cutest and most precious little baby. He absolutely LOVES interacting with his fans too, he even does live streams from his house showing off his new little kitten.

Hes a baby to older people, a mature friend to same age ones, and a nice older brother to younger ones. Known as one of the most SM passionate three (with Yunho TVXQ and Siwon SJ) and is hella competitive too! fun fact, Choi Minho was (and i think still is) one of the most legendary sport-idol because of his performances in Dream Team and ISAC (idols / celebrities sport competition shows). People associate him with sports, like really a lot. Minho is also so nice and so kind, and really caring. He also loves kids. Also hes known as a 'man with manner'. The second member after Jonghyun who contributed a lot in writing lyrics for SHINee songs and has lyrics copyrights under his name. Thanks for doing this reaction to SHINee!!! I really hope you explore more from SHINee because they are really special and one of the few remaining active 2nd Gen. SHINee was HUGE when I first got to know Kpop they were one of the leaders of the Hallyu wave across Asia and how Kpop spread - ask anyone and they’ll know Ring Ding Dong by SHINee. And really no kidding when we talk about talented. All of them can sing - I think as many other mentioned you can check out their cover of Dear Name by IU on her recent episode IU palette or "Shinee Best Vocals" You’ll probably get what we mean haha.
Minho - nah he’s not so savage in real life. He’s an ABSOLUTE sweetheart and pure hearted. Friends with many idols and girl idols and no scandals would appear because it’s Minho. Very athletic (dad is a soccer coach), was the ACE of an athletic show called dream team (like ninja course/wipeout challenge sort), won many idol athletics. Known for being very very good with children. Although he’s the main rapper, he’s also a very good vocalist but you won’t hear him on title tracks. It’s the b-sides. Minho is the heart of SHINee.
Taemin (maknae) - the one you said gave Jimin vibes. Debuted with SHINee at the very very tender age of 14. Main dancer of the group - main talent he auditioned with and he has a unique style and is a very good dancer (I’m saying this as a dancer too). Very very respected in the idol world and is the idol of many idols. He worked extremely hard from being main dancer to now his own solos and vocalist. Baby of SHINee, basically raised by his hyungs in SHINee - pampered and spoilt Taemin. You can tell how he just completely relaxed back to being the youngest in the group with SHINee after his hyungs came back from military and how happy he is. Basically his home since he spent half his life with them. Can’t stop talking about SHINee.
Onew - oldest and leader of the group. The honey voice, extreme range but still stable and has depth. Main vocal and very distinct tone in Kpop. AMAZING VOCALIST and damn good breath control - held longest note for 40 seconds and performed an opera song. Introvert and quite reserved. Very humble. May not say a lot but he has a huge presence in the group. you can see how the other boys love him and look up to him. He is like the comfort spot for the group.
Key - sassy, absolute savage. The attitude of the group. Came into SM as a genius - talented all rounder and does everything in the group - vocal, dance, rap. Natural savage but you can tell he loves the rest. Took extremely good care of taemin who was growing up in early days.
Jonghyun - an angel. Main vocalist and talented musician, producer and songwriter. Many of SHINees songs have a Jonghyun flavor that made SHINee unique. Unfortunately Jonghyun passed on a few years ago as he battled depression.
Our boys have been through a lot and it’s amazing how they have still continued even with JongHyuns passing. They always remember him and call themselves SHINee 5 and you can tell that they are still hurting. But they are stronger than ever now and sticking close to one another 💙

You have onew in there he was in the drama descendents of the sun. The guy you said looked like jimin is taemin he is jimins best friend they have taken trips together. You can't go wrong going down a Shinee UA-cam rabbit hole. There are too many songs to recommend. They are good at every type of genre and vibe they try. Their dance moves are always sharp and their fashion is always surprising. Some of their songs off the last album (with just 4 members) are really good. I would recommend Countless, I want You, and Our Page (which talks about their feelings of losing Jonghyun.) All of their videos are good. Their Shinee World tour videos that are on here too are epic. Look for Excuse me Miss. They each have solo songs as well. Taemin has the most solo albums (Want and Move are both amazing.) Also watch their weekly idol episodes to see their characters. They are hilarious and super clever.

Yaaay i just can't wait for u to get more into SHINee! SHINee are really blunt and savage sometimes which is something i love so much because most idols would never act like this. SHINee once went to a show called "Weekly idol" The hosts of this show are known that they always roast the guests that come on their show but when SHINee appeared on the show the hosts literally couldn't say anything about the members because they would roast them back and they wouldn't hold back lol.

Thankyou for taking time to meet these fantastic men. I hope you look into some more of their work, if you do you will realise how influential they have.
This is what we need more of. Stepping outside your comfort zone is not always easy, but you never know what you may discover. Talent is talent and acknowlaging another's group's abilities and contribution to the kpop world takes nothing for our favourites. I would love to see fandoms standing together more.
Oh and as a side note I hope this will give all army some comfort that military service is not the end for your members. They wil return and, as SHINee have shown, come back more mature and on fire.

It's funny how they always give these tough guy vives while on stage but in reality they're all a bunch of fluff balls, their personalities are beautiful, they are all good guys, with different personalities, but great guys.
In order to understand who they are, you guys have to watch:
1. A very shinee guide.
2. Shinee setting the bar so high noone can reach it.
3. Shinee still setting the bar so high noone can reach it.
4. A guide to Shinee's unbelievable talents.
And as for their discography, everything they have done is so good and so iconic and it has set trends and changed the kpop industry paving the way for newer groups, but I can list the most iconic songs you must listen to:

Also, in order to fully love these guys you have to watch their lives on social media (there are many videos of that on YT) they're so lovable and funny, there's never a dull moment with these goof balls, the Shinee chaos is real, good chaos though.
Also is a MUST to ckeck out their solo works, they're all awesome, but specially Taemin, he's surprising people around the world with his solo work, he already got the nickname of King of Kpop, and Asia's Michael Jackson, he is amazing, and hes is so sweet (odoroble as he says 😂) but quickly goes from Taemin to TaeMAN while on stage) the guy's an artistic genious for sure.

Taemin (the guy you said "Jimin vibes") he is considered Number 1 Dancer in South Korea... And Kai (Exo) and Jimin second place together... They 3 are considered the best Dancers in kpop and they are best friends and they hang out together all the time 😍❤️
Taemin is considered like a MJ of South Korea, cause he has his own unique style and is so much inspired from MJ... I suggest u "Taemin - Want" "Taemin - Criminal" "Taemin - Idea"... Dance practices are insane 😍💜

Glad you guys enjoyed it. Plenty more to enjoy if you listen to their back catalogue - Story of Light, Odd, Lucifer, Everybody - they always reinvent themselves and are ahead of the game in concepts, music, dance and fashion. Also look up Jonghyun who was an amazing writer, lyricist, instrumentalist, producer not to mention a beautiful soul.

You should check out 2014 SHINee “everybody” their Tokyo Dome live performance. Their actual concert was almost 4 hours of high energy. I’ve never seen a group dance so hard or sing so perfectly in all my life like their life depended on it. They literally have auto tune built into their vocals.
They are legends still to this day.

I had the chance to see shinee (among some other legends in kpop and 2nd gen) in nj and let me say.. they really are legends. It's been amazing seeing them grow artistry wise. They had what's considered to be the perfect debut w replay (it came out in 2008).. and one of the first kpop groups to use choreography and having really hard choreo. They were originally 5 members but one passed away. Each thro had successful careers outside the group..my faves are taemin and key...

About Minho: He's a very kind person to both his family and other people. He's not actually so savage but he surprises us especially at concerts🔥 he clearly shows his reaction when he gets angry with something (he goggles immediately/sorry for my english) he is a very competitive person. Losing is not written in his book. He always supports to members. He's a very funny person(make sure you hear his laughter😂😍) he can't reveal his sadness too much. He had many disagreements with Key during when they're trainee but they get along very well now even though they have small bickering. he eats well but doesn't gain weight. (There are many things but i cant remember now)

SHINee debuted in 2008 and have been considered trendsetters too, they usually release something diff from mainstream music. Also a lot of newer idols look up to them.
Some things about Minho, he is actually a very sweet and loving person - he is good with kids. He is also athletic and very good in sports and can be very competitive.
The one you said who could dance and has Jimin vibes is Taemin -considered by many as one of the best dancers ever. He is friends with Jimin too.

It is so cute - as are most of the SM relay dance videos, though SHINee is always extra funny. Also, SHINee recently did an excellent live cover of IU's "Dear Name" and a live version of "Kind" (from the current SHINee album) on IU's Palette. Actually, in the same episode, IU does a live cover of SHINee's classic - Sherlock - which is also very much worth watching.

I don't listen to much k-pop apart from BTS but I also recently found Shinee and I just fell so HARD. Love them! They're all so freaking talented, sweet and funny. And this song doesn't even feature Jonghyun with his gorgeous vocals (still love the song though). Lately I've also been getting into Taemin's solo work a lot, which I'm loving. Fans were saying how MJ influenced him and how he's called the MJ of Kpop and that was enough for me to wanna see and hear more lol. The fans weren't wrong... he is everything
