I have the same sentiments. Jumped from my S22 Ultra to the Z Fold 6. Glad I jumped in at this point since Samsung pretty much refined the design of the Z Fold at this point.

At a doctors conference right now and this "little" device is perfect. Been taking notes with the s pen opened up and its been so great. My wife uses the s23 regular and I have always been jealous of the size of her phone and how portable it is. Ive been with the ultra series and have found them always way too big especially when I sit down and can feel it in my pocket and have to take it out but i cant give up the size for finishing patient charts. I do wish it could be even thinner but don't think I'd care for a bigger display size.
the point of a foldable is to open it into a bigger screen the outside can only be so big. if you need a bigger outer screen just stick with a candy bar style phone. currently using iPhone ProMax and i should have gotten this phone. I need a smaller screen for one handed and then i want something i can upfold for a bigger screen. i can't want to try this phone out!!!
I think for most people it's the fact they have sort of stuck with the same design for the last five years with it. There's nothing specifically bad with the design. It just feels like without any huge changes, why drop the 1800$ for the same device from two or three years ago?

Just happened to watch this video, I think it is a good and bad thing that these companies seem to be sticking with their own "identity" on one hand people getting the cheaper models can still have the premium looking and feeling device. Love this phone so much . Love that it's small on front so it fits in my pocket. Love folding it out chilling in bed .. It's just perfect ... Throw a matte screen protector on the inner screen and its awesome with zero fingerprints .. I use low profile mobile and battery saver mode which just make it use 70 percent power for regular which is more than plenty and I get 10 hours sot.. For intense stuff I just turn performance mode on and it flies .. Such a great phone
It is true, one of the reasons I chose the Samsung brand especially the phone.I Have the s23 ultra now what is good, at work I only provide a monitor only, connect with hdmi to usb C and make it a replacement for a pc. Also at home connect to the tv and become a big screen for watching and playing games. It is very useful.
Front screen is perfectly fine! It can go inside my pocket perfectly! That's one of the small reason why I switched to this phone. This does everything!
Watching a movie on the inside is barely bigger than a regular phone screen though, with the biggest black bars either side. When they can open to a 16:9 ratio then I’ll buy one.
As someone who owns a fold 6 and s24u i have directly compared video sizes on many videos, fold 6 is significantly bigger. Then things like Web browsing are next level compared to a candy bar style phone.
I switched to this from apple no regrets everything I wanted in a foldable device. I haven't started to use this phone to it's capabilities and I'm in love really with android operating system as a whole being with apple so long
Yes. I feel like people don’t understand the appeal of a foldable phone. Slim pocketable phone that opens up to be larger. I love the compact factor compared to other folding phones. I have an iPhone 15 pro max and I might switch for pocket ability alone
Samsung should just offer a plus size model. I've seen so many reviews and they all mention the same thing they want a wider main display, better battery and cameras. the narrow screen is really the main thing keeping me away from the samsung fold.

I think it's a bit surprising how small the difference in actual viewable size is going from the front screen to the inside screen. Only about 10% larger when watching regular 16:9 media
Well, that’s pushing it a bit. Whatever you mentioned is available on the other folds especially those new one from Honor and even last year’s Oppo/One Plus. Dex is not for everyone when u already have a more powerful computer
I'd want a wider front screen, a size between this and the S24 Ultra would be perfect, I'd prefer to type on the outer display anyway, typing when its open is fine if you've spent a tonne of time on it but as a new user I'd rather the front was wider and when open I want a 4:3 aspect ratio so wider outter display would help get it to that ratio + if its 4:3 thats perfect for retro games oh lol Vampire Survivors 😂😂😂 that thing can emulate a PS3 pretty good, I dont think its going to have trouble with that, I emu Dreamcast and watch UA-cam at the same time in split screen on the S24 Ultra, these phones can do way more than most people are using them for.
OnePlus Open is a good alternative. Wide cover screen, good software, good use of multi tasking. The only down side for me is the size of the camera bump makes it inconvenient to keep a good grip on the phone without touching the cameras. Other than that, I'd give it a solid 9.
I don't understand the point of carrying a laptop style empty shell as screen. You might swell take a full blown laptop with you. The other part I think is that 99% of people would not open this up while on public transport or on the street. I would classify this more a product for going on vacation or for frequent business flyers travelling. The fact it has Dex is great, but I got that on my normal phone. I can see myself using it perhaps while being at home or traveling, visiting family members. I don't really think this device will attract the masses . Also I can also take my tablet with me on holiday. The zflip6 now does solve mayor problem, I even tempted to buy it just to use in the summer.

I've been very interested in switching from iPhone pro max to this phone. But I def want the stylus which is another unique selling point for this one - the other foldables don't really have stylus support. Have you seen magnetic s pen holders that snap onto the phone as opposed to that phone case they have?

I bought the Fold6 because I did not want to use my s24 ultra with DEX it's just too much trouble to me. As for the front screen when I need to type I use voice to text and it works pretty well. Overall I think it's a nice phone but I only paid $1,500 for mine on eBay new in box.

I have had both and I will say i enjoyed the pixel pro fold but it is very large to hold because of that side bezel. The polish on the Z fold is really good software wise and as someone who likes dex i wanted to have a google competitor but they have not made one that is as polished yet. The Pixel is a beautiful phone that is so thin unfolded but the narrow screen and software additions for me make the Z fold my choice.
I'd say 90 or so percent of people don't use Dex because irrelevant to their use case I had fold 5 & 6 never used Dex on any supported phones because it's not relevant to how I use a phone that's probably why
yea samsung had a sale and they always have some type of sale but i got a 1tb for the exact price of a iphone 16 pro. Not sure I agree with the "3rd" device opinion. It requires other hardware for it to function in such manner, like a TV, monitor, etc. You're getting two devices in one, a phone and a tablet. You certainly have the ability to use Dex which is by the way a fantastic feature that I like very much. The hardware just isn't included for that to function.
It's perfectly usable. It's supposed to be one handed use. If it was massive then it wouldn't be. My partner has massive hands and he manages absolutely fine.

It's the best hardware on any foldable. See, I fixed that for you 😂 It's really odd to me that the less successful companies don't see premium build and software as the two most important things. absolut, for 90% of people DEX is enough Computer, and you have all your stuff in one gadget
For us that like the narrow screen, this is the only option we've got. Choice is always good.

It's the best or close to the best hardware, the design however, thats up to personal preference, me I'd def rather have a wider outer display.
