I made it to Mighty Ruler(17or18th Dan I can’t remember) today with law and just basic T7 and TTT2 law memory and I’m so glad to now add this stuff in because I never use heat stuff so thank you. I literally just discovered SS 3 and SS2 along with DC F+1 and now I’m spamming
Because the weakness section essentially said nothing concrete, here are the actual weaknesses -He has abysmal range on most of his attacks. The only attack you could throw out at range is 1+2 because of the range and most characters cant punish it with good spacing -Most of his mids are high profile. Steve can sway his b4, his b1 goes under Lee df1, Leo crouch dash etc. df1 has abysmal range and tracking and whiffs unless you're in the opponents face -His DSS is still hard to do, not because of inputs but because of how timing based it is, and the timing differes with every DSS move. Expect to drop DSS or get counterhit when the connection isnt perfect -Though this isnt a weakness in a strict sense, unlike most other characters he doesnt have an "I win" button. The closest thing that comes to it is the dragon hammer but its still completely dependant on timings and mindgames with slide
Have to agree.i played almost every character in the game now. His close up is mega strong until you start to see how much can whiff, if the opp just does a single backdash, even see these whiffs in TNS from reggie who plays this character since years, if i am correct. DSS , also agree, its mad to say this, but it still has execution, not by a mile like in t7, but in tekken 8 , compared almost rest of the cast , i would consider it „hard“ still, cause so many characters are complete braindead. So many times i got mashed out of ws4 into dss2 , wven tho that was exactly what i wanted them to do. Definitely needs much practice. Altough it has to be said, in a FT2 meta, you can play him meta scruby , which is an advantage d23 is a godlike panic button now, compared to t7, where people where way more patient, and pairing that with his combo damage, its a much appreciated comeback opportunity, you literally do over 100 dmg if d23 hits with the uf*43 into sidestep dss3 head dump route. Which is mad . In general his combo damage is a mad quality, considering you need to kill people in this game before they kill you. The wall ender is mad and still gives playable oki. Also … slide. Its a mad slide, i hope they never nerf the followup in any way. Right now it seems law is being ignored in tierlist debates, like he almost doesnt exist, which is also to his benefit, if the theory that bamco nerfs are also influenced by twitter/yt drama.
Really surprised he didn't mention F3, 2 as a core / busted move. Mid-Mid string into dragoncharge + frames is so easy and strong. Really nice guide btw cheers
Bro if you nerf those moves you said were “broken”, law is gonna get obliterated by all the other characters. Everyone is on steroids, let Law have his moment please.
If you're crying about the launguege Landon is using, replace the words "cheap" and "broken" with "good" and "really good" then all your grievences are fixed 👍
@@Jeet-Kune-Low nice, my yoshi is mighty ruler and law only ganryu atm, unfortunately had to stop playing a month ago due to hand issues, two more weeks then i should be able to play again 🥲

As a law main I've been saying law is gonna be top 10 in 8 since the offline event beta. But I think this video have some inaccuracies in it. Like dragon hammer isn't tracking to his left at all, that was a realligned hammer with a dash. If a beginner tries to step after a jab they'll get stepped and launch every single time. b4 got a big nerf, round start b4 in T8 can be dodge by steve's sway and doesn't hit AoP anymore. I do agree that dragon charge into instant crouch dash shouldn't be in the game at all. It just amplify the wifi law's gameplay even more.
Maybe delay the last hit in the wall.. A lot of characters wall Ender's you delay the last hit so it hits almost grounded and will do 50% instead of 30% (not exact percentage).. I was thinking it was gonna be a blue spark DC attack but I don't think so
Fyi, for dragon charge kicks (dss to f3) press it right when his raised foot touches the floor. This is the same for his WS3/ f4, 3/ f3, 1/ any other move that gets law to dss/dc. For the shimmy he does into dss, as soon as his leading arm begins to shimmy, do the input. It takes time to get the timing down but you'll connect a lot more even without the blue sparks
Life long Mk player here recently got into tekken 8 , I’m learning law, when you say df1 do you as a diagonal then press 1 or do down then forward then 1, mk is all mostly separate directionals I noticed this game used diagonal controls way more
Dude, every character is tekken 8 is buffed. When you say 'cheap' 100 times, it feels like law is OP which is not. I mean drag, xiaoyu, jun, dj and the list goes on.... that are actually cheap.
Well, to be fair, law is considered a top 5 character by most pros and rightfully so, he's extremely good. He has most options covered that he needs to and that's not the case for the rest of the cast.
2:13 Not even 3 minutes in and he's already talking about nerfing the character when in fact, Law is already much weaker in this game than he was in Tekken 7. We all remember how cracked 3 4 4 string was, arguably the strongest string/punish in the entire game.
what makes me sad is that they could easily have kept old dss too. imagine if doing the legacy input were the only way to get a bit more frames on the stance cancel, like just 2 or 3 frames. it would be enough incentive to do it the old way. would make the character infinitely more interesting in my opinion. I still do the old input on the transitions I already know, but the new ones I already learnt with the new input as I didn't have reference, like f3, 1. I would gladly train all transitions again if they made the legacy input the optimal version of the stance. and this would change NOTHING about the character's accessibility, new players don't even know what frames are lol
There’s absolutely no difference in Laws in the ranks. Higher ranks have better defense from experience, but every last Law is constantly attacking and crushing highs.
Fr. It's really annoying to go to tournament and watch a law/leo/jun (ITS ALWAYS THEM) player on hit box throw his chair and controller because he lost. Lmao, you're playing a scummy character on the best input method, have a little bit of shame 💀
