Don't worry about the oil consumption. Have had my 300 for almost a year, no issues with oil consumption, no issues with the dpf injector. Just drive it and enjoy it. Kaon make a cargo barrier, with a shelf and wing covers for the glass. Love the wrap, looks mint
Nice built. That’s serious off road beast. Many “no need” things for average user. Agree that if you can get it off the floor just take it. We did same. Just bought GR Sport off the floor. Someone was struggling to have a finance and we took an opportunity to buy it. 5 min decision. That’s strange but GR has got options not available with others 300 like Sahara, even with extra money. Like front lockers factory fitted or exclusive Electronic Kinetic Dynamic Suspension system. Wrap looks great but decided to go with clear ppf due to practical reasons. Well done built guys
Motor uses a little oil but the reason is less friction equals slightly more oil burn, has a early warning light etc, all good really. How good are those mats, got them in the 200.
For the amount of touring and living you guys do right around the country in these setups its an absolute investment for comfortable, reliable driving, Love this car
Why replace the electronic KDSS on the GRS??? It is one of the best features. Just to dodge the tax? Buy a Sahar 7 seat down if you want to change the suspension but not the GRS.
100 thousand on top of the base car, its important for viewers to know you can trip and do 99% of this country in a Corolla, you don't need all this luxury shit
Love the show but man.... Imagine how much travel you could do for the price of a bunch of mods you don't need. Apparently all the aftermarket suppliers know better than the Toyota engineers...
We added a lithium battery under the bonnet of our 300 series. A real neat job! We don’t need all the accessories in the back, just a slide out fridge in the back for our caravan trips. Have the reverse camera integrated onto the screen too! Also added new fitted car seat covers. Just love what you’ve done for your purposes and we just love the smooth driving and efficiency too!
I just updated my hilux and of course ARB bull bar and a must have side rails fitted (lots of roos where I live ), and flat black powder coating as standard I thought, they have the best quality bars on the market . My last hilux hit a car at 100 kilometres a hour when it failed to give way at intersection , wrote her car off and I drove home ,thanks to side rails that supported the bull bar ,awesome products, thanks ARB
Thanks for the Video, we also have a LC300VX, just about to get a GVM upgrade to 4T, I knew about the reversing lights need to be re positioned, but the indicators on the side of the car?? did not know that one cheers Les and Denise
Very nice build, do you think the Baserack has a lower prile than the rhino rack. If it is not to munch trouble can you measure from the middle of the roof to the top of the baserack. The Rhino rack is 110 mm, I am hoping the base rack is lower
Hi Guys, Just wanted to know with your CB Radio what Ant whip did you get with the radio you have. As I am looking at getting one and there are a few different packs with different ant whips and you seem to have had no issues when travelling on the open road of in close country. Cheers Ray
i beleive they do use a bit of oil for a small amount of time while the engine is being run in, no issue with the engine at all though. just keep an eye on oil levels while running in. no biggie as you should be checking oil anyways. on another note how good is the colour of this thing.
Hi guys. We are in Cooktown at the moment. Have just done the Cape. I absolutely love my 300VX. I’ve gone down a similar track with build but. I went with crzr roof cross bars riveted direct to the roof rails. The name for mine is Elcie. Enjoy your vids. Heading to western qld next
The engine is designed to use oil , they have made the tolerances a bit less to reduce friction and gain fuel efficiency, and less engine where ,just check it every 2000km or so and top it up as needed,
Hey Justin, vehicle looks great we are about to take delivery of ours in the next month. I also like the Grappler 18" rims. What offset are yours they don't appear to poke out too bad, ie no need for flares?
if your looking for a name i suggest "SPARTAN" like the movie it conquered and defended even though its not perfect . and the LC 300 series has the same characteristics. it fights much more hi tech and less expensive cars in its categories . well that just me .
i have a land cruiser A LoT like that one.. almost identical. with that suspension and tires on. the gas tank is too small. need to put an auxiliary tank in on it unless u like going to the gas station constantly.. or put some blitz cans on at least that's ten gallons
Hey Justin. Apparently, the 300's are using oil because of the hot Vee design, a thermal efficiency issue, from.what i have been told, they need good airflow when worked hard and also time to warm down. I would suggest holding off on engine mods until Toyota nuts out the issue, i have been led to believe they are aware of it. Run it in first before playing with the tune. Great rig mate, enjoy it
Hot V’s aren’t that new so I wouldn’t be too quick to blame that. However Toyota seems to always build faults into all new engines so it doesn’t stun me to hear they’ve done it again.
Hi, I wonder whether there is any issue with the factory snorkel in this GX. On rainy days, will the water go into the air box and make the air filter wet?
@TripInAVan I only going off social media with engine consumption, would be pretty disappointing if it was the case, but hey as we say as a diesel mechanic underground, oil cheap and there still making it lol
Hi there. Just wonder lc300 sub tank. How do I fill it up. I got the fuel light on and go to fill it up. It only can fill up to 80L. But Toyota says it has 110L
Hi Guys, love the 300 build but I do have a question in relation to vehicles. Now you have 2 is there a reason you did that instead of building a 4x4 truck NPS Isuzu or something similar?

I'm really curious as to how the LCT avoidance worked for you re: GVM upgrade. This whole area seems very grey. Many UA-camrs claim they bought their vehicles exempt from LCT but never really provide details other than GVM updates or NB1 status through some third party (Caleb in your case). Same way they wrap the rest hey. With a black wrap
@@TripInAVan thanks

I’d call it Leonidas after the Spartan king of the 300 men. Awesome truck a pure beauty well done
I like that
Loved the colour of the whole build so much and the matte wrap is just stunning!
Thank you so much!!
I am waiting for a GR sport to arrive, I think a pre rego GVM upgrade is on the cards, the savings in LCT will pay for the upgrade.
Absolutely
Why replace the electronic KDSS on the GRS??? It is one of the best features. Just to dodge the tax? Buy a Sahar 7 seat down if you want to change the suspension but not the GRS.

The price tag hey. Think they are 25-30k more
Kaon does a great cargo barrier/shelf, the barrier also protects the windows.
Justin just finished my build & used Kaon light weight half cargo barrier, they also do window guards "Molles" might be worth a look, cheers
Perfect thankyou I’ll look em up
Same just did our GX fitted with the Kaon half cargo barrier. Will see how we go may add the Koan shelf later on if needed.
We were thinking of an LC GXL. After seeing this, I've just ordered a VX today 😂 Now for the countdown.
