My all-time favorite Crossmen show. Heck, It's one of my favorite drum corps shows.... period. The music is upbeat, the guard is spectacular. Killer drum line and despite being on the small size the brass line sounded like it had 100 very talented members. Kudos!
My high school band did this show in 1999. It's a shame we had to cut Niner Two out because it was the best arranged song. The majority of our band couldn't get the drag step you have to do since it's not in 4/4 time. We still played Birdland and You are my Sunshine. It was my favorite year we had out of the four high school years I marched, then I went on to the cymbal line of Capital Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps (RIP) for the 2002-2003 seasons. I'm 40 now. Go Bones, but bring back your damn cymbal line.
At the opening of the 1979 season, Crossmen played Birdland, but I don't remember it. They took it out of the show early in the season and I think they replaced it with Jack Miraculous by Gino Vanelli. Wish I could get ahold of an early-season recording of the Cops. So I can hear Birdland.
Although we were a little challenged in the Brass and Visual captions, we did come a long way. In the end, at Finals we were 4th in Percussion with a 9.5 and 5th in Guard with a 9.4. The Corps finished 6th Overall with a corps history best 93.0.

How many in the brass? I’ve always felt they looked small even for the time.
I LOVED this show. How weird is it that all of the performers are now middle-aged?
It doesn't feel like it's been over 20 years since this finals... great season, and lots of good people I still talk to from this group
