NEW Okuma Makaira Rapid Crank - for deep drop, kite, way back lines, here's a new product at very aggressive pricing that will ease your tedious labor of winding in lines.
This works perfectly for a Okuma MK-20IISEA. Even though the product description states model 50 and up the unit does work on a 20. I use on my size 20 Makaira however let user be aware the lower size models (16, 15, 10) will not allow the snap-on feature to engage so there is risk of the unit flying off or just falling off of the handle. I tested this unit in-store on the range of models.
For the SEA's yes size 20 and up are just fine with the Rapid Crank. One MAJOR caveat, especially for our NorCal clients - Rapid Cranks are NOT made for retrieving Nomad MadMax lures while trolling along at 10+ knots. Use the product for retrieving deep drop lines, for your kite line, for standard troll lines which are way the heck out there - not necessarily under load or speed. Don't expect success using the product for high resistance planing head lures or large lipped (DTX Minnows) lures while under load. There are limits to what the product, what all of these type of products can do. Work within the design limits and life is good.
