Can always back it down- a big miss understanding us guys thinking you have to fish it at strike all the time- very rarely do we ever go to strike on our reels
@@CoastalWorldwide1 I was messing with an old Penn today and right out of freespool it’s already getting around 5 pounds. But I was only hitting around 30 at full. I may have to mess with it some more.
That’s all we use and trust from shark to tuna to swordfish! Most times someone doesn’t like tight line braid it’s because of personal error that is blamed on the braid 🤘
Would you recommend this LBS Mak80 over the Mak130, Avet 130, and Tiagra 130? Could you tell me your reasoning? Thanks for all the great, informative videos! Appreciate you guys
🙌 yes! One okuma already makes the best engineered reels with the Makaira series- so the LBSF edition is just black and one new size. So they are already proven reels- also Avet shouldn’t be trusted had so so many break- they are just cheap and easy to find- tiagra 130 is a good reel just big and heavy but reliable. Tig 80w doesn’t put out enough drag without cranking preset to loose freespool
@@CoastalWorldwide1 Have you used this Okuma rod for LBSF? I'm assuming it is the 6'10" PCH rod. Looks like it is the trolling variant with the roller tips. How does it compare to the Terra Firma Tackle or SFWW custom rods? Keep up the good work!
@@CoastalWorldwide1 Looks to me like it’s the same reel with less drag and a shark on the side. Still sits baits terribly. Clicker sounds arguably more annoying. Longer lever won’t help much with that quick of a ratio on that narrow of a reel.
Can’t wait to use one!!
We are pumped!
Nice work guys. Keep it up
Thank you 🙏
That thing is nicer than my car
They are sooooo nice
They just left Texas out on this. Why not a 80 wide and 130??
Not making an 80w was unfortunately not our choice.
Man you guys are setting your presets like this on a full spool?! Holy crap!

@@thatguyblue4811 drag water issues most likely
@@CoastalWorldwide1 I thought maybe that’s just how the drag ramp on it was.
@@thatguyblue4811 nah those old Penn’s have terrible drag washers that just turn to dust
Just buy the regular sea reel. Same reel w a different picture and a longer handle. Handles are easily replaced.
To each their own!
y'all use tight line braid? i've heard a bunch of bad things about them but, y'all know what y'all talking about.

@@iancamp7834 hey! We haven’t got lbsf just offshore marlin and tuna! Tft or sfww sticks would be best!!
should I get penn international 80visw or tiagra 80w?
Do you think it could land a 14 foot hammer?
In the right hands, maybe.
Either way, a 14’ hammer is a fish you’re gonna hope hits the 130… 🤣
With an angler that has the correct experience and presets- absolutely
Where can I get one

If your watching this video now, chances are it’s already to late to buy yours 😅
Facts
Unfortunately this could be very true BUT there will be a second order!
Only if the okuma made it a 50w, 80w and a 80 I would’ve liked it, but no 80w is something I don’t like
There will be a 50w as well!
@@SaltwaterGearReviews see that’s at least good for some short drops, but I’m pretty sure a lot of us would’ve loved and 80w or a 130
Hey Hey Shark Boys
Really nice looking reel. Good you
Had the chance to make suggestions in the beginning. Like the drag ramp.
Blessings

Our goal in the next year is to show the shark community you don’t need a 130 for 95% of shark fishing 🤘
i need to get me one of these in the 50w form
They have em! That’s basically a 50w with a long handle and new drag (and all back 🔥😮💨)
@@CoastalWorldwide1 yeah ima have to wait til later lol i think i missed first push
@@jestrSON should be available for pre order! 🤘
Ask for them to make the first 130 narrow
80 is all you need 🫡
And a 130 is standard (not wide)
130 narrow would be the same as an 80w
Are they only making this in the 80 Reg???
Standard
They are also making it into a 50w as well
50w and 80
What scale did you use to set the drag?
Digital scale from Amazon
It's been asked above. But how much does it weigh ???
We didn’t have a chance to weigh it. Only had it for an hour before returning back to okuma
112 oz, 7 pounds.
@@CoastalWorldwide1Was there an issue with it? Seriously considering purchasing one tomorrow from Terra Firma.
@@davidgraf9844 we got 6 of them and absolutely love them 🤘
How much does this reel weigh in the 80 topless version?
Not sure on weight yet. Didn’t weigh it in the little bit of time we had with it
I am jealous lol
They are super sick
Do you have a link to the rod? I’m able to find it but not with the #2 butt

@@CoastalWorldwide1 thank you so much, also I fish in ocean city Maryland would you say go with the 80w or 50w?
Do yall recommend a mono top shot on a 50w or just pack it full of braid?
We leave just enough room for roughly 50yds of mono topshot!
Get me the hook up lol
They are available for preorder!
This video made me really not want to buy one. Seems like the old ones are better.
How so?
