Thanks for your video. Was looking for a reel for fishing tuna here in the UK. A lot of guys using penns but I seen these okuma reels and read good things about them. Any suggestions?
They still have their kinks like all the reels on the market.. but their drag ramp is super fast and can cause its own problems... the one thing that would sa is the Avets have shown me to have the best low gearing for powering bug fish easier than any reel on the market in its price bracket.. and they are a little a little cheaper as well..
What we mean is that there isnt any controlled gain in going from light to med to heavy.. its straight light to heavy... which for many that dont understand how to work their drags especially when getting these bigger reels that can cause someone to get hurt, lost of gear, and also too they dont remember to back the drags off then they will really worsen that effect go from free spool to lock because they have compressed the drag washers..

Just a quick question for you. Why don’t you put tape on the spool before the braid? I’ve always done it and I’ve seen on some of the Avet boxes that they recommend it. Not doubting your knowledge or skills at all, if just like to know. Also, keep the great vids coming. I love seeing the big boys get spooled up, especially when you get a chance to max them out and do a test. Thanks again man
I developed a 3 knot system about 12 years ago... all 3 allow the spool and metal when it heats up to open without weakening the knot, but also allow it to tighten back down once it cools... also to as the spool is cranked on it tightened like a vise and grip the smooth spool...
How much 130 pound braid will a penn international 80w get if I put 250 yards of 100 pound mono as a top shot I'm not going to use hollow core to expensive for my blood thanks
For every yard of mono you put on there you take off approximately 5 yards of braid so in that sense on that I wouldn't know unless we actually did it ourselves and I haven't done an international in a while would have to double check on our videos and see what we actually have and what's been available so far

I used to have 4 50vsw Penn's .. but after I got 1 Avet I saw that they didn't gold the same amount of braid... and also had a lot of trouble pulling in our surf weights when we didn't hook up... so when I switched I saw the major difference between the Penn and Avet... but have also gone with my friends who have them and they have the same problem also with the tiagras... also too the line capacity are less with the Penn and the shimanos compared to the Avet... and as for fighting sharks I brought in a 9ft 5in tiger on a penn 50vsw in and 1:15min...but have since done 12ft tigers in about 35 min: 10ft tiger in about 15 min also less that 8min for another 10ft tiger... 13ft in about 35min as well... reels can handle the fights it just all depends how long your willing t9 commit to the fight cause gota remember the longer that you fight the shark or fish the GREATER your chances are to get cut off...

Don't know have never seen printers ink in person other than through the plastic cartridges to load him up however the paint was very very tacky and sticky when it felt like I was dealing with drying up glue kind of deal

Thanks for your video. Was looking for a reel for fishing tuna here in the UK. A lot of guys using penns but I seen these okuma reels and read good things about them. Any suggestions?
They still have their kinks like all the reels on the market.. but their drag ramp is super fast and can cause its own problems... the one thing that would sa is the Avets have shown me to have the best low gearing for powering bug fish easier than any reel on the market in its price bracket.. and they are a little a little cheaper as well..

They nice.. but don't like their drag.. if you leave it engaged it will gain memory very quickly..
What we mean is that there isnt any controlled gain in going from light to med to heavy.. its straight light to heavy... which for many that dont understand how to work their drags especially when getting these bigger reels that can cause someone to get hurt, lost of gear, and also too they dont remember to back the drags off then they will really worsen that effect go from free spool to lock because they have compressed the drag washers..

I was curious on the knot used for the braid to mono????? But I just noticed someone already asked!!!
Bimini knot on the Briad side caused it's a could braid.. worm knot on the mono side..
Just a quick question for you. Why don’t you put tape on the spool before the braid? I’ve always done it and I’ve seen on some of the Avet boxes that they recommend it. Not doubting your knowledge or skills at all, if just like to know. Also, keep the great vids coming. I love seeing the big boys get spooled up, especially when you get a chance to max them out and do a test. Thanks again man
I developed a 3 knot system about 12 years ago... all 3 allow the spool and metal when it heats up to open without weakening the knot, but also allow it to tighten back down once it cools... also to as the spool is cranked on it tightened like a vise and grip the smooth spool...
We have several videos that we posted a while ago showing how we did these knots.. one of them say no more tape on the thumb nail..

Very rarely do we chum if we do. It's only for cast out baits or when were king fishing
How much 130 pound braid will a penn international 80w get if I put 250 yards of 100 pound mono as a top shot I'm not going to use hollow core to expensive for my blood

For every yard of mono you put on there you take off approximately 5 yards of braid so in that sense on that I wouldn't know unless we actually did it ourselves and I haven't done an international in a while would have to double check on our videos and see what we actually have and what's been available so far

Albert I’m on a budget I’ve looked online and couldn’t find any reviews for the PENN international 80. If you have any knowledge about this reel please let me know. Also what size fish is it capable of handling. Thanks !
I used to have 4 50vsw Penn's .. but after I got 1 Avet I saw that they didn't gold the same amount of braid... and also had a lot of trouble pulling in our surf weights when we didn't hook up... so when I switched I saw the major difference between the Penn and Avet... but have also gone with my friends who have them and they have the same problem also with the tiagras... also too the line capacity are less with the Penn and the shimanos compared to the Avet... and as for fighting sharks I brought in a 9ft 5in tiger on a penn 50vsw in and 1:15min...but have since done 12ft tigers in about 35 min: 10ft tiger in about 15 min also less that 8min for another 10ft tiger... 13ft in about 35min as well... reels can handle the fights it just all depends how long your willing t9 commit to the fight cause gota remember the longer that you fight the shark or fish the GREATER your chances are to get cut off...

Don't know have never seen printers ink in person other than through the plastic cartridges to load him up however the paint was very very tacky and sticky when it felt like I was dealing with drying up glue kind of deal
