The hatch glass separating could be due to the hatch struts, from what I've read the ones sold now are a higher pressure and cause the separation. I haven't tested it on my 944 but I've read hatch struts off a specific gen of Jeep work as a solution

The hatch glass usually separates if the struts are too strong. Aftermarket struts usually apply to much force. You have to be careful which ones you install.
I still have my 84 944 which I bought new, there were no factory spacers for OEM cars. You can use them just need to make sure they don't loosen. Nice ride - happy to see the younger guys/gals driving this fun cars. Iconic design and good gas mileage. Congrats to you!

I never trust someone selling a used car. I always replace the timing belt on cars I buy regardless of what the previous owner says. Too much risk to trust them on something like that.

Also you can rev engine to 2500 RPM and alternator should self excite. If it's working. I just grabbed the higher Amp alternator from a turbo. Rewired exciter wire to bulb and bypass alarm. 944 barn always has wheels for them

Mine is on 10 years and approximately 20k miles running just fine. Belt looks (and sounds) fine too. I'm only replacing the belt because the water pump went and it needs to be taken off to get to it.

I haven't watched the video yet, but I want to say that even though this is technically a vintage Porsche, I still can't picture anything that isn't a rear engine air cooled boxer as a vintage Porsche

It’s a 9XX series. It’s a real Porsche. Unlike the VW’s cleverly disguised as Porsche sold today.
@@salimrandallfun fact the original 924 is not a real Porsche. Uses an engine out of an Audi/Volkswagen and various other parts. It wasn't until the 924S that Porsche had developed an engine in house, which was carried over to the base 944
