I am a beginner to woodwork, the main test I have with this bundle ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxTNB_zFBSnTo_O1PqfVUwgi7ityw0JlKt is that I think that its hard to settle on a choice of the plan and outline to use as there are a large portion of them there. Nonetheless, I like the simple stride to step directions laid out there.
This project turned out awesome! One thing I would suggest being an AV guy would be to get an articulating mount for the TV that way you could pull the tv out flush with the stone. Great job!
100% This. Everything looks amazing, except how far inset the TV is. Thankfully it's an easy fix and it'd make this 10/10! Side note: I really love the wood accent!
I don't know how you ended up on my feed, but I am hooked and can't wait to watch more of your videos. I am super impressed with this first video, not only do you have an engaging personality, but the editing of your videos is fantastic as well. Content like this is why I love YT. Thank you!
Nice work man. One thing Id suggest is retire the asphalt felt for good - its dinosaur stuff. Get a small roll of synthetic roof underlayment like Dupont protec. Its light, doesnt tear easy and will far outlast any felt. And you can put it on very flat unlike felt. I know its for roofs, but it would be definitely better than the felt in any application. Always looking forward to your next vid. Keep up the great work.
Did my man say "Herth"? He's breaking my "hert". This was an outstanding project, and honestly, I didn't see anything that a total layman couldn't build with a little planning and patience. That is how easy he made it look. Well done! The patio looks awesome.
@Eva Karmali How do we learn? By being corrected when doing something wrong. If you had spinach in your teeth, would you want to be told, or would you prefer embarrassing ignorant bliss? We like the videos enough to like and subscribe and comment because we want more and better content. Without critique, how can you improve?
I’m a journeyman carpenter and now a custom home builder for the last 12 years. While your terminology isn’t always correct, you are doing a great job and are miles ahead of most DIY UA-camrs. Keep it up!
I love what you've done with that fireplace. Looks really good! Looking at that space, for me, I'd have gone a different direction I think. I'd have still stoned the wall, but I'd have turned that into a full waterfall wall instead, with uplighting. Perhaps continued it on the floor right through the middle of the seating area as a recirculating river. As for tv, I'd have just installed a motorised screen on the wall opposite the barbecue and a projector on the opposite wall.
I'm really into wood work RN so the second I saw one of your videos I was subscribed. This is just so cool! I love being able to watch different ways to build things! Keep doing what you do!
Great job and always providing courage for others to get out there and do things outside their comfort zone. 2cents, for future projects, aluminum doesn't retain heat like steel will.
Looks awesome. a few things I would of done as well was move the inside fireplace exhaust with metal fireplace exhaust pipe to the top somewhere and then install another fireplace for the outside witch would of looked killer instead of a black metal screen covering the exhaust location where it looks like a fireplace should be. And another thing I would do is stick the TV on a wall mount so you can pull it out flush with the stone wall and or tilt it up or down and turn it right or left depending on your seating location. But man what a killer idea and project you did👍
I dont think he can. I don't even think this would pass code. The fireplace exhaust is not fully exposed. He can't put an electric insert in without doing the same to inside.
Looks good! Have you checked out the stone that has a metal flange and is screwed onto your walls? “Premiere outdoor living” uses it on their channel and it looks similar through the screen but doesn’t require mortar to attach.
Only thing i was curious about was what was the way you waterproofed the sill of the TV area from allowing water to get behind the mantel? Also, what were the 1X2's for over the siding?
Great Project! I would put one of those LED fireplaces, I was wondering, why not put one of those sun shades or “pergolas” going from one side of the valley of the house to the other, to provide some shade when sitting out there, looks amazing!!
I watch all your videos and this one might be my favorite. All of it looks great. I might tackle something similar in the near future. Also disregard all the UA-cam “construction experts” that are quick to give shade before praise.. we all have to make mistakes to learn and this project you did awesome man!
I agree with everyone it does look nice my concern is safety did you happen to look up your installation man online to find out what the clearance was for the vent cap on the outside looking at it it looks like it’s an HHT product which would be heatilater or heat and Glo I am guessing a Novus 42 but I can’t tell from the video the three things that concern me the most is you’ve added the alcove to your vent location, the distance from the top of the vent to the bottom of the soffit you added I don’t believe meets minimum clearances. The way those vents work which I’m sure you’re aware of uses 100% outside air through the vent and bust the bad gases carbon monoxide etc. out through the center of that. The problem with that is how hot the exhaust gases are and then you taste them with combustible even though you’ve covered it with stone It’s still is a combustible and it’s not that you’re going to have a fire tomorrow it’s just after a few years of drying those studs out that lowers the combustion temperature. My suggestion would be to call the manufacturer or the distributor of that fireplace ask your Builder if you don’t know where it came from or simply look down below where the valve and stuff is and you will see how you are listed tag with that will give you the manufactures name and model number with that you can find them in the Yellow Pages if you can find any yellow pages in 2022 lol I think you know what I mean. Most of the fireplace companies in my area anyway will at least guide you as far as safety clearances go. is the tv not set back far enough into the structure that it cuts off some of the screen when sat down at the angle of the seats? seems like you'd lose a good few inches from view from the bottom of the screen? looks amazing though! so much work went into it!
Is all of your house siding like that? Comes off with bare hands, and is directly on top of OSB? I don't know where you live, but I hope it never rains....
This came out absolutely amazing. I personally would have mounted the tv a little further out so if you’re sitting down the bottom of the tv doesn’t get blocked
Turned out pretty nice man good choice on colors. You did a pretty good job from a masons point a view but next time you do wire lathe make sure you use more nails to secure it. They should be about 6 to 8 inches apart.
Dude, you work hard. All the hours of work, and pushing through project fatigue came across in the vid. Final product looks amazing! Q: Do you and Irina see all this potential when looking at new homes to buy? Do you map out what projects to work on after you purchase? Thanks in advance!
Probably not the only person with this question, but where did you learn all the technique and skill you have? I'm interested in learning more about home improvement and construction projects, any recommendations on resources you've used?
Looks great. One thing I would have done first is put a foam gasket between the concrete and the pressure treated wood. Granted I don’t know what the weather is in your area, but time will tell.

Yes, Mantle Mount is a good option

It looks great, well done! And the best part of the whole project is; you made zero mistakes, well 60% of the time. :-)
Came out awesome! And your work ethic is crazy inspiring!

I love what you've done with that fireplace. Looks really good!

I've never done a DIY fancier than hanging a drapery rod, but I could watch you work all day and enjoy the heck out of doing so. Yay!
A chimney free fireplace would of been great!
Remote control trapdoor and Wala outdoor fireplace
I'm really into wood work RN so the second I saw one of your videos I was subscribed. This is just so cool! I love being able to watch different ways to build things! Keep doing what you do!
what was that thing in the middle of the fireplace that says hot.?
looks fantastic. BTW, using cooking spray like PAM is another great way to release concrete from a mold.
Great job and always providing courage for others to get out there and do things outside their comfort zone.

Really cool. Just a suggestion. Add flame led lights behind your fireplace screen. So it will look like fire at night.
Looks WAY better than before. Maybe someday down the road you'll find a way to make the fake fireplace usable. Great job!!
I dont think he can. I don't even think this would pass code. The fireplace exhaust is not fully exposed. He can't put an electric insert in without doing the same to inside.
Smaller tv or monitor inside it and just feed a fire UA-cam channel!
This might be your most impressive project so far, lots of different skills needed to complete this
Wow, thanks
Dude you inspire me to do a project like this. Great work!
That barn wood is GORGEOUS!
Looks Amazing! So many different skills required in this video, well done
Looks good! Have you checked out the stone that has a metal flange and is screwed onto your walls? “Premiere outdoor living” uses it on their channel and it looks similar through the screen but doesn’t require mortar to attach.
Nicely done. Looks really great.
tremendos job
Only thing i was curious about was what was the way you waterproofed the sill of the TV area from allowing water to get behind the mantel? Also, what were the 1X2's for over the siding?
Im guessing it was roofing felt.
Great Project! I would put one of those LED fireplaces, I was wondering, why not put one of those sun shades or “pergolas” going from one side of the valley of the house to the other, to provide some shade when sitting out there, looks amazing!!
Possibly put on some bifold doors on either side of the TV opening. Keep it closed to help prevent any elements from reaching the TV.
I watch all your videos and this one might be my favorite. All of it looks great. I might tackle something similar in the near future. Looks great. And I do concrete/ block brick and stone work.
I think it would look good with that wavy tin instead of the siding.
Dude, that barn wood looks AMAZING
Well done!!!! Congratulations. perfect choise
Beautiful job man, just beautiful!
That is some good looking work, man!
Lol!... "It felt like a year for me." (I can only imagine.) Beautiful work, as always!
awesome colors. perfect choice
Awesome improvement enough said.
I don't know if you came up with that idea yourself, but it's a brilliant way to hide that ugly vent... Well done.
Dude! That turned out awesome!
Great Work, Dude !
You would make an awesome next door Neighbour mate !!
Where do you get your lumber from ? Doesnt look like HD
What are those brad-nailer like cordless gun? And do they really hold that well?
Legend, so much grit. Keep rollin!
Man this turned out awesome. Did you by any chance think about accordion style doors to protect the tv during storms or winters.
That is absolutely gorgeous!
What Product did you use to finish that beautiful piece of barn wood for your mantle
Great job I love the beam 👏

Beautiful brother!❤💯👍
U did an amazing job, I love building things
Such a legend!
WOW that’s amazing
What's your thoughts on protecting the TV from the elements? Even if you cover the face, it will still create condensation.
Great job. Love it. One critical remark...osb and 2x4s running bottom to top should have gap as to not touch concrete foundation.
Impressive!!
Do you find your living room any darker since extending the outside further out from the window wall?
Dude, you work hard. All the hours of work, and pushing through project fatigue came across in the vid. Final product looks amazing!
Q: Do you and Irina see all this potential when looking at new homes to buy? Do you map out what projects to work on after you purchase? Thanks in advance!
Fake @mrbuildit spam
Wowza!!
Looks fabulous! but you could’ve put a smaller TV in the lower section and played the Yule log “show” on UA-cam!
Beautiful😊😊
great video, plenty of finished shots at the end, and it looks great.
For what it's worth, it's pronounced like HAR-TH. Like heart with an H at the end

Great job, man. It looks awesome
Mr. Build It - what brand of cordless paint sprayer do you use? I didn’t see it on your “tool” page. Thanks
Fantastic!
Looks great can’t wait for next project
More to come!
so my question is what are you soing for weatherproofing the tv?
What’d you use for the mantle?
Probably not the only person with this question, but where did you learn all the technique and skill you have? I'm interested in learning more about home improvement and construction projects, any recommendations on resources you've used?

I love watching your videos
Very nice work!! Looks GREAT!!
Thank you! Cheers!

And someone already said it, but it is “harth” like heart but with an H at the end.
17:40 'They said mix it to the point where you can hold it on the trowel at 45 degrees'
And then you continue to flip it 90 degrees. 😆
this is dope!!
Got to say I love the Bill Nye it's been a minute
Great Work 👍
I was so impressed, I subscribed.
Love this! Where did you get the fireplace screen?
does this patio has cover, i may think it pretty wet when rain cuz correct me if im wrong, it need a cover badly dont you think
Great Work!!
Thanks a lot!
Looks amazing
You are such an inspiration for me
Keep up the mightily impressive work mate
Quick tip, use a scrap piece of wood over your finished product to pound it in place. That way you don’t put hammer marks on your finished product
Looks very cool! One suggestion: why not mount the tv on an arm so you can move it towards you when using?
Looks great! That’s a lot of stone work.💪🏻
Thanks 👍
