you are a lifesaver THANK YOU - we moved into this apartment and OMG that bathroom exhaust fan was so loud that I did not enjoy being there. I had all of my products set up, huge mirrors, lots of counters lots of lights, and space but the noise level was not something that I enjoyed listening. I just unplug that damn thing and now we all enjoy time in there ahhahahah . Thank you so much
One of my dad's favorate sayings was "If at first you don't succeed, read the instructions."
With all due respect, this is more accurately a video on how to replace, not how to fix
The problem is fixed with a new fan. You can take a paint brush, air compressor and vacuum to brush off, blow and vacuum up the dust and grime and see if that works but if it’s the motor it’s going to be easier just to buy a new replacement fan. Getting fan parts can be very difficult to find just like some parts for appliances.
Mechanics fix vehicles by replacing parts. This guy fixed the fan issue by replacing it. The “fixer” is the “guy” the “replacement ”is the “part”. I’m not sure why you have an issue with that lol. The guy could use both fixed or replaced. It doesn’t matter. I would like to point out that he didn’t “replace” any parts into the original fan itself. He just “fixed” the problem by installing a new fan.
I think you assumed the video title was something that it wasn’t, for what you were looking for.
Title isn't "how to fix the noise in your bathroom", it's "how to fix a noisy fan". That implies making an adjustment to the internals of the fan itself whether it's lubricating replacing a part or adjusting something it means operating on the fan itself. To use your car example let's say I wanted to put a video on how to fix a leaky tire. It would not mean dismount it and then mount a brand new tire. In this video, he shows you how to "fix" a noisy fan. I guess the "fix" shown wouldn't apply if you just wanted a different fan that wasn't noisy? I need to go find a video on how to replace my out-of-style fan because of looks. These steps are only for noisy fans.
@@realSamAndrewit is not possible to “fix” a burnt out motor. if it’s making a bad sound then you have to replace no way around it
@st8ks967 to that I say the following: Nowhere did it say fix a burned out motor. If it's burned out, you wouldn't fix it. It did say fix a NOISY motor. There are many causes for the noise. If it's something that can be adjusted, lubed, or removed or replaced, you CAN fix it.
And even if there is no way to fix it, then replacing it should be labeled as such.
Yall need to get a F life. Lmao
I can't believe how loud that was wow ! Bet your glad that's done !
My apartment has a 1970s model and I really want to upgrade by replacing it. Wish me luck!
edit: I tried cleaning all the lint, rust and dust built up… it was not a fun process but it was satisfying once it’s clean. It’s still super old.
I replaced mine several years ago … no upgrade kit at the time. Oh what fun. Great video.
You two are so cute! Love your channel - been watching you for years! Helped me with a lot of projects.
This is great to know. These upgrade kits and the fans themselves seem pretty expensive for what they are. I wonder if there are aftermarket versions?
Thank you, Eric! I need to change mine!
So..what i did after watching this helpful vid..is clean the crap out of it..cause it was filthy!!!!! Sprayed some wd 40..and its worken like bran new ..you can actually hear air moven..instead of clunking..eventually ill buy a new one..thanx again for the vid!
My fan switch also controls the lighting. Should I turnoff all power to the house before trying to remove unit?
I wonder if you could spray on a ceramic coating to deter dust from sticking
WD40 on the moving parts. 80% of the time it works every time!
Worked for me... Thank you...
Worked for me
Not sure if i can do this alone but you made a great video.. my fans are very old and noisy.
It’s always good to have a helper on another ladder or on the ground next to you. 😀
Will cleaning the old vent from dust and lint help with the noise instead of buying a new one?
Didn’t see the link for the band aid.
Thanks, the motor works well. 👍🏾
Hey, I'm your biggest fan!
Thanks Chris! Appreciate you watching the vids. 😀
all good, SO LONG AS YOU'RE NOT THE LOUDEST!!! 😉
Are they all one size? I need to replace my bathroom ones.
Old fans too noise and new one looks great now get watching u channel
Awesome 👏 👏👏 thanks eric!
Do you have another link for a different one? Seems to be unavailable on amazon?
I want to remove the Cover to clean. Any mark on it where to pry from??? Cheers from Canada.
You don't pry these, you just pull down. They have springs that hold it in place.
Good vid...thanx Eric!!!
thanks for the awesome info
Band aid explanation? We are nosy people lol. 😊
I bought a new 24" wall bracket fan, but the noise is killing us, couldn't understand what's it.Please help and oblige sir. Thanks from Pakistan.
I swear my bathroom fan just broke down y'alls just copying me. This video is so right on time, ya gotta have a spy. Thanks👍🏾
Weird how that happens sometimes 🤔 thx! Eric.
Woohoo!! This was super helpful thank you!! *placing order for upgrade kit now* because my current fan needs to be chucked out the window… 😂
Part of yearly maintenance is to vacuum out the bathroom fan.
So simple yet people forget. Thx!
I think the noise was coming from bearing not fan.
Unplugged it. It's so quiet now!!
Oooh...Dyson👍
Here I thought you were going to put Noctua fans
Braun told me they have no upgrade kit for mine
They told me the same thing. If you research them, this is their modus operandi. I will not pay someone to resize my ceiling opening to accommodate their constantly changing housing sizes.
Fixed not replaced.
It is a noisy exhaust fan I Agree maybe because that fan is too old.
I know, nothin like a noisy fart fan.
The lint is from your toilet paper!!
Here in Germany most of our bathroom fans are mounted somewhere near the top side of a wall , near no more used chmineys. :-)
Too loud still
It’s certainly an improvement! 😀
Dang..its 70$
Crap, my plug is different.
you could take apart the housing unit and wire it directly with wire nuts. make sure power is off first
bad video
