  • Today Marcel takes Jose's dream GTI build for its first test drive and shares how it came together. A true rags-to-riches build, this humble hatchback started life as a 1.8T before our team at HPA got our hands on it and transplanted the legendary 3.2L VR6 paired with the HPA FTX500 turbo kit.
Reaching 575HP and 500ft-lbs on our Superflow Dyno, is this too much for the FWD?

I wish I had the money to do something like this to my beloved 08 Passat. She’s been with me through everything and she’s suffering because my pockets constantly run empty because life is expensive and I live within my means.

Amazing. Would love to send HPA one of my 8N 3.2 TT’s for engine and trans upgrades.

That car sounds horrible...i owned a 2001 VR6...these cars arent "fast cars", nor where they ever meant to be. The GTI has always been a practical car with a bit of pep and enthusiasm. And since the MK3, the Golf/GTI has been way too heavy to be considered a sports car, or even be considered a nimble car
