Steve is a legit great guy. I saw man made a viral post about how he was gravely ill as a child and wanted Steve to visit him through Make a Wish. When I was a kid and a student at a private Christian school (I'd estimate this was around 1991 or so) one of my teachers presented us with the "Well to Hell" story as if it were a true story and proof of Hell's existence. Sadly he didn't have the recording, but read us the story that accompanied it. I really wanted to hear the actual audio so I'm happy that years later I could listen to it. The weirdest ongoing series of hoaxes in social media for me is the many times Jackie Chan was killed during numerous movie stunts-go-wrong incidents, and The Undertaker converting to Islam.
Such a great video! Your editing in this video was awesome, and I love how your personality really shines through when you're talking about things you're passionate about. I got a good chuckle at 15:50 when you showed a video I saw when I was 10/11 which made me so scared of mirrors I had to walk backwards out of my bathroom. It's so weird to think of that as "early internet". Not that I can remember anything else, my idea of internet hoax when it was REALLY early was struggling not to laugh at desperate teenagers trying to hook up on IRC.

Fun fact: Agamemnon Counterpart was created for a problem solving competition called Destination Imagination. I believe the challenge in question was Anonymously Yours, the fine arts challenge from 2000-2001: “Teams had to find and select a work of art produced by an unknown person. They had to create a story using characteristics from the era that the work of art was produced, and tell the story of the artist. A technological element using technology from the era was required.” There was probably a skit where the team finds this video that had been sent back in time. Teams are associated with schools and I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a middle or high school team. I just get a kick out of this because I did this competition in elementary and middle school. I’m just imagining the little sketch we did one year where we dressed up as moose and ran an RC car through an obstacle course being turned into a creepypasta lol
You mentioning how the hell hole hoax got shown to children reminds me of this one damn local ad that was prevalent in my city for like 5-6 years. It was a religious ad that had the word ETERNITY on the middle, at the top was a cheery depiction of heaven, but at the bottom half was a bunch of goddamn creepypasta/screamer tier images to depict hell. One of the pics was a face screaming with no eyes and a black mouth (think something similar to the alternates from The Mandela Catalogue). I remember being scared of it at first and eventually getting desensitized and annoyed at how prevalent the ad was. They even ran it through those cars that are mobile billboards so you'd get a face full of screamer shit while you were out taking lunch in a restaurant with a terrace. Fun times.
Whoa! I just found you and think these vids are awesome now I’m seeing Whang! And you have shrouded hand in the comments? It seems I’ve stumbled upon an early great one, I’m so happy to see it 🎉

You were 8 years old when you discovered the hell well video *and* you were actively searching for that kind of stuff?? You were braver than me as a teenager.
OMG congratulations!!!! you're rly on the way to becoming one of my favorite creators on this platform, crazy to see you collab with huge names already! :D
idk why but the fact that shrouded hand was the starter of an internet hoax is REALLY funny to me
When I was a kid and a student at a private Christian school (I'd estimate this was around 1991 or so) one of my teachers presented us with the "Well to Hell" story as if it were a true story and proof of Hell's existence. Sadly he didn't have the recording, but read us the story that accompanied it. I really wanted to hear the actual audio so I'm happy that years later I could listen to it. I remember the story being frightening but that we were skeptical at the time.
just found your channel and I love the vibes, most spooky youtubers use creepy background but your chill/liminal/dreamcore/webcore style and music is refreshing and makes it super fun to watch.
Also the artist of sculpture from the beginning is one of my favorite surreal sculptor folks. Love her critters
I can't believe you actually got Whang on this. He's one of my favourite youtubers
Holy crap, I knew about Tyler's Last Words thanks to ScareTheater, but you really went the extra mile actually getting the author's own explanation... I had no idea it had such a deep meaning. Great work with all the research
People actually thought that was real. They even got mad at the guy for faking his gone gone boom boom. No wonder biden is president.
Omg, seeing you collaborate with Whang is so exciting! You're a great creator, I'm so glad your channel's getting the attention it deserves.
Username666 has been doing probably one of the most wholesome blind play through of Minecraft, it’s in Japanese with English subtitles! Definitely a relaxing watch
I remember some of these videos really getting to me in my late teens. It's nice to see the misconceptions cleared up. Love the WHANG cameo and how he called you out in the end, hilarious! It's good to see this channel really growing because it's easy to see your passion and hear the nostalgia in your voice.
Steve was a regular at a cafe I worked at 2019-2021. A really nice guy, good tipper. We all liked him. I never saw him get recognized but someone once came in and asked if we knew him.
I remember hearing that Steve died, getting panicked and looking it up, and finding that to my relief he was just bald several years ago. Good times.
This video made me so nostalgic for the days where I would look up ghost pictures with my friends and be terrified of a figure in a window. Thank you for this video, it was a delight!
thank you for such a nice comment!
This channel is quickly climbing the ranks of my personal favorites. Keep up the good work
It's so weird to think of that as "early internet". Not that I can remember anything else, my idea of internet hoax when it was REALLY early was struggling not to laugh at desperate teenagers trying to hook up on IRC.
Really good of you to collab with a smaller channel like this. I think this Whang guy is going places!
Edit: joking aside this is such a cool video. I really like how you have an appreciation for the simple story of an artist wanting to creep people out and/or create an emotional reaction. It’s a noble pursuit even if it’s not the most interesting story everyone wants to hear.
WOW a Whang collab?? You're already in the big leagues Kylie!! I'm really proud of your growth and honestly it's super cool to see you grow!
I never noticed but yeah there's quite a bit of cannibalism on your channel lmaoo
This video was so nostalgic for me. As an early internet user, I remember most of these, and I remember ten year old me falling for them lmao. Very well done!
i'm impressed how quickly you popped up for people and gaining traction for your channel, it's amazing
i can imagine the channel becoming a youtube household name amongst many in the future lol
This is dope, this has a lot of entries that I’ve never even heard of. Keep up the great work my friend
I remember when your videos first showed up in my recommended a while back, it's awesome to see your channel grow and this collab definitely shows that the hard work was worth it. Keep it up!
A technological element using technology from the era was required.”
There was probably a skit where the team finds this video that had been sent back in time.
It seems I’ve stumbled upon an early great one, I’m so happy to see it 🎉
the 666 video scared me so badly when i was little ☠️ i remember being scared to even type 6 on the search bar LMAOOO
Shoutout to the MapleStory music (from somewhere around Kerning City, I believe) used behind the Mario Nights section. I hadn't heard of most of these before, so that's what slapped me in the face with nostalgia the most tbh.
Good to know that watching corny ghost videos was the pastime of eight year olds around the world and not just me hahaha. My memories of them are so much more frightening than what they actually are
Lately youtube has been recommending me some less known, newer channels and yours has the best quality out of them all. Keep it up
Very well-made video! Also, the fact that Justing Whang collaborated with you makes it even better.
at this point i'm just living kylie upload to kylie upload.
Very cool collab! It was a nice trip down memory lane with a lot of the hoaxes, I had forgotten most of them until now! Was also pretty neat to finally see the backstory to Tyler’s Last Words hoax as well.
Another great video, hope the channel continues to grow! :D
"Where is-a my pot roast bitch" definately has to made into a shirt. I almost fell out of my seat laughing at that.
absolutely LOVING all of the spm music in the background
I've been a fan of Whang for a while but I found your account through the TOMT videos. Very cool to see some of my favorite content creators come together.
Love the visuals in your videos! It's obvious that you spend a lot of time crafting these. A lot more than other youtubers in similar genres imo
Damn, getting Whang on this? Holy hell, that's impressive! Love getting to be around for your rise
been watching tons of dark/lost media content recently and found your channel--great stuff here and love that you mentioned Dan Bell :)
I randomly found your channel from a reddit post you made, seeing how big your channel has gotten since is insane!! Love your content
thank you!
Wow… I knew Tyler’s Last Words was a hoax, it was pretty much debunked back then, but I didn’t know they found the guy. Very cool you got the backstory from the man himself!
wow great and nostalgic video, and congrats on the huge collab! you definitely deserve it
I knew this was gonna be a trip down memory lane, but when Maplestory music started playing I actually kinda freaked out over it. So much nostalgia there, and good memories of what that era of internet felt like
17:40 Windows XP installation Music 😌😌😌✨✨✨ take me back to the good old days...
I don’t mean to sound rude, but Steve didn’t shave his head. Rather, his hair was starting to falling out or balding.
Never the less, having all three hosts unite for one moment in the new Blues Clues series was really special and heartwarming.
I love that the super paper mario is so influential that horror videos can be made using just the soundtrack
The pilotredsun music in the background. Absolutely great to hear! Subscribed!
i fell into this side of youtube with scaretheater too! around 2014-2015. which fsr is making the whang colab super cool to me 😭
the tone both of you take with this sorta content (ie nostalgic feeling i guess??) has always been neat to me. hoping this brings more ppl to your channel!! :D
Oh hey, my comment about Marty showed up at 7:06! Never thought I’d end up in a video like this. Thanks! Love your channel!
thank you!
My two fave channels collabing, what a treat! I really love how your content is well curated and presented, congrats on the great vid 🤧✨
thank you i really appreciate it! :)
Ooh this was a fun one. I love internet mystery videos that I can watch at night and be interested in but not (too) scared by. Love your vids!
Irrelevant but that photo that haunted you as a kid, I remember seeing that sculpture live in person as a kid. Seeing it as a kid in person and the exhibit itself was just as haunting of a memory as you must've felt finding it online as a kid. How nostalgic.
oh my god that mario galaxy DS trailer was my entire life when galaxy came out. I probably watched it 100 times everyday trying to figure out how to unlock it and I looked up how to connect my DS to my Wii to get it. What a great video.
You’re such an amazing UA-camr and I’m so glad I’ve been here since the beginning. Can’t wait to see where your channel goes and the collab is so exciting!!!
Just subscribed! Thank you for making the name “Kylie” cool again! 😊
I love your music choices so much! And all your videos are the exact kind of content I love. So glad that I found your channel.
You should make a video about the Boards of Canada mythology!
20:17 Dude, that video scared me so bad as a kid! I remember my dad would always talk about magicians accidentally killing themselves, and so I looked this video up and thought it was real.
Oh wow! You’ve become one of my fave UA-camrs recently so it’s awesome to see you collab with another UA-camr I love. Congrats! You deserve it
thank you :)
@@sombertobogglyno problem! I also hope you find blue chin someday!
@@sombertobogglyno problem! I also hope you find blue chin someday!
@@Nocturnal_Mee we can hope 👁
Ahh, great background music! Especially loved the Aphex Twin and PilotRedSun tracks! Great choices ♥
Great video too, by the way! New subscriber ^^
KYLIE omg I'm so proud of you! that's probably weird coming from an internet stranger lol, just I've been following your videos for awhile now, I found your channel from one of your blue man reddit posts and it's been crazy to see your channel grow and now you even have a collaboration! that's awesome! it's obvious how hard you work on your videos and it's clearly paid off!
thank you so much! it's always really nice to hear from people that came from the blue chin posts haha
I like the vaporware/weirdcore aesthetic your vids give off. Btw great knowing your getting more exposure you deserve it because you make good videos (better than mine lol). I can't wait for the next bizarre and strange mysteries you will talk about in your vids. Hope you are doing well! I will be happy to watch your channel grow!
congrats on the Whang collab! hope to see more cool guest stars in the coming months
Bonsai kittens were one of the very first things I saw on the internet that I was absolutely distraught by. I was a teen and also gullible. I was so upset. Very happy and embarrassed when I found out it was fake
Shrouded Hand uploaded one of (if not the) most popular Cursed Kleenex Commercial hoax videos and I never knew it.
Shrouded Hand, who I watch pretty often, I never knew this.
The internet is a lot more interconnected than I thought.
Lol that's literally what I was thinking too!
It's like NationSquid and the Christine Chubbuck hoax video
I found your channel sometime last year and I chose this vid in my catch-up to say its insane to see how much your channel has grown! Very excited to see where it goes from here :3
Sick to see you working with Wang! Thanks again for the quality content bro, keep it up!
I like hoax lost media like Saki Sanobashi. It just goes to show how far some parts of the internet will go to find something that somebody half remembers. Even after that guy admitted he made it up, some people kept looking because they wanted it to exist so bad.
Holy shit two of my favourite UA-cam channels crossing over! You deserve the exposure hoping it means big things
Been looking for new channels that cover mysteries and such and yours does not disappoint!
i just found your channel days ago and i'm so hooked, ive literally binged all your videos!! theyre all so well narrated and entertaining, can't wait for your next ones 🥰
ps i was shocked to hear you were a year younger than me LMAO
oh my god this has gotta be one of the best collabs i’ve seen, I luv both of these channels
I've been watching for a while, seeing you get such a big collab is great! You've been making quality content for a while and its great to see it get recognized.
oh hi i didn't expect to see you here!!!
Anak Durhaka, along side various scary Indonesian media with the classic blue background and spooky imagery such as dried up fish and clear hoaxes used to scare me as a child lol. I remember vividly watching those types of videos in the late 2000's and being scared.
A couple of my favorite youtubers collabing, it's going to be a good day.
The consistent use of the MapleStory OST and Super Monkey Ball OST in your videos is really cool, and not something you see very often. Just makes me smile :)
