Kinda ridiculous that most battleships can oneshot another giant battleship but cant kill a tiny sub in one full hit salvo

With the turbines it really does have the look of the russian ekranoplan things (caspian seamonster) so I find it odd that that particular design feature is on a Brit ship and not a russian one.
The Scarlet Thunder is a clear reference to the old British marionette puppet show from the 60s called "Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons". A very unique visual style that was also the same as the one used for the old Thunderbirds show.
But yeah as mentioned by vondertann8218, the AP British line would def take after Hood, Vanguard and Thunderer, which I would kill for! I true AP British BB line would take after the real Vanguard and have highly accurate but low caliber AP, as well as a radar, and very good AA. I would kill for a HMS Vanguard '56 or something..
Sorry but I can't see the clear reference to Captain Scarlet.

@@Sunshrine2which it really shouldn’t be. When I’m service and using supercharges the new Cardonald 15inch AP rounds were found to have a theoretical armour penetration only slightly less than the US 16inch super heavy rounds.
there is already normal fuze AP british BB line: Warspite Hood Vanguard and Thunderer :D
so how about make a video about Vanguard, she matches quite some of your requirements, good rudder, relative good speed, nice concealment, normal fuze AP with good accuracy to punish broadside and easily get broadside punished.
Vanguards Kinda garbage , Long Reloads on its guns and Nerfed armour scheme make it hard to play in upteirs at all
@@micheal6898 i know, but vanguard is the closest British BB to what PQ wanted in the video as far as i can think of, the other one is the Thunderer.
not to talk about how short the range is that thing is meh at most i just like it's heal and rudder shift and accurate guns are a severe overstatement they are ok at best
@@micheal6898"long reloads"? Iirc, Vanguard gets something like 25s base reload speed. Since when is 25s on BB guns considered "long"?

The skin is based of the soviet Ekranoplans, not sure why they put it on a British ship. Cool ass skin though.

Yep. I got this on one of the random bundles. Never thought I’d have a tier 9 battleship. More of a casual player in tier 4 through 8. But I’ll take it and play resourcefully.

They should have given it a speed boost and have it raise out of the water like the real thing. Even though the real thing was a plane.
I have a bit of a story when it comes to this ship. Mainly because I recently returned to world of warships after a half ish year or more break and when I checked the armory, this ship was the first of the random bundles that it was in and so I got it for around 10-20 dollars. I also go by Scarlett so having a ship similar in name just makes me happy.
Well, I got it on 2 bundles, so 4k dubs. My impression on her is that she'll do very well top tier. Not so much if she's in a T10/supership matchup. The guns are consistent. She's a very good HE spammer with 50% fire chance. I hit a Massachusetts with 10 HE shells that caused 6 fires. Poor ship was on permafire until a sub torp put it out of it's misery.
High tier Warspite with AP focused? You mean the Vermont line?
Hmm...no torps, no speed boost, worse dispersion, better armor on the extremities...Duncan every day and twice on Sunday. But I'd take this over Lion.
The skin is pretty cool, this is the first skin I believe to have a effect when you start up your heal.
Shame it's on a shite bote...

What would be really funny is if for April 1st they released a gamemode called “Oops! All Armor Piercing” where the only ammo that your main guns and secondaries can fire is AP ammo

Damn, true 419mm AP damage would have been nice against the Bis and Birpitz. Also terrifying AA with booster, didn't even get close.... although I feel that might of been misplay on carriers part coming in long and straight into you, might have eaten less damage if he came in on the curve.
He ate DefAA flak. That will make any AA look really strong.

So what's the verdict here guys other than it's a "decent" ship?
Reason I ask is I just happened to get this ship offered to me for 2k doubloons in the Armory's randomly rigged bundle thing which is obviously a great deal for a T9 BB, I am a BB main but not if it's a really annoying ship to play.
What stood out in this nice vid is.
1. Inferior AP compared to the tech-tree
2. No zombie heal typical to UK BB's
3. Tall building sized citadel wrapped in a tinfoil hull.
4. It's a tier9 which has been screwed hard ever since the addition of tier 11, especially lightly armored BB's with big tall citadels lol.
I do enjoy playing the St Vincent more than Conqueror, I don't play either of the T9 tech-tree UK BB's and the reason is because I can instead play the T10 which are simply better. The St V has a pyromancer HE shells, fast turrets, fast ship, zombie heal, very hurtful AP and a borderline broken "beneath the waterline" citadel. It's a really fun ship while Conqueror has a lot guns, also a zombie heal and enough gun range to keep its citadel out of trouble most of the time.
So for me the question is why not just play either of these superior T10 options then? What makes the Scarlet Thunder worth bothering with compared to a decent T10? Sure, being able to purchase it for just 2k doubloons is fantastic obviously but not if I never play it. How do you guys find it?
It's not good. Vincent is still one of the most versatile bb and is certainly better than this, or any T9. Just wait for jean bart or get kearsarge if you want that t9 economic.
@@kawaiikoto8800 Thanks. Ya I think I'll give it a miss tbh. I have some T9 premium coal BBs already such as Iwami and Pommern so I'm covered.
Besides, the superior T10 tech tree options aren't economically costly to play plus my go-to steel ships Bourgo and Shiki are way more hurtful and fun looking that this Scarlet. Nah, I won't bother with it, thanks.

Why play this if I can play free Duncan? It has BC dispersion, better AP alpha, super heal, torps, engine boost. Yeah sigma is worst but it has BC dispersion not BB...

I honestly think shell traces should be LESS VISIBLE, in order to have more realistic scenario. I know it will affect all of us more expereienced players used to manouver like crazy (they often report me if I have more than 3mil potential damage), especially crusier players, but it sometimes looks ridicilous, when 5 ships focuses 1 + secondaries = 4th July fireworks.

not talking about the game mechanics and just seeing the camos that WG offers, shows the regular allocated playerbase. Its funny to see in vids but it bites your ass when playing.

That's the answer I was looking for. I too got lucky with the random bundle when this ship was the very first offer but it just looks like it lacks everything that makes a UK BB good and fun.
No point buying it if not gonna play it, even for cheap. I'm not a collector either.

how this company , managed to take The I3 (this ship) and G3 Batteship/Cruiser Designs ,some of the best designs ever ordered/ laid down and With Armour Thicknesses and Designs Giving it Protection that would Not be "matched" Until Yamato .......... Then make a Key feature of these ships "poor armour" By fiddling with all the armour schemes of nations in the game. how they have done that I dont know. L company

@@mikkodoria4778"hate rank"?? The UK is arguably the most playable nation in WoWS. St. Vincent is borderline overpowered, Conqueror is good and toxic as hell, Daring is really really strong, Minotaur and Goliath are both good at their roles. Very good lineup.
