Hello once again everyone, I have to give a big shout out to one of my clanmates Khan for granting me access to his tier 7 French destroyer Vauquelin. It's proved to be really quite challenging and the most difficult French dd so far. However after playing around with builds and captain skills I believe I've found a really nice balance and strategy that works really well. As usual the full build and captain skills are included. Hi Mark, now this is awesome and one of main reasons I started this channel to help players. Vauquelin is tricky even at the best of times but played in this manner it can be a real beast. If you haven't already unlocked Le Fantasque let me just say with the recent nerfs, it's one of the best ships in the line now -)
Very interesting build with IFA. It does make sense for these smokeless French DDs. I'll have to give it a try. Your calm presentation is also appreciated.
Thank you Timothy, I hope you have some success with it. It's a very strong build. This is a difficult line for a lot of players so don't despair if you have trouble at first. The constant excercises in situational awareness required for this line will stand you in good stead for the whole game in general.
Carbine, I'm finding myself in quite a few Random battles where there are only 2 dds on a side. I that case, teaming up with the other green dd denies one flank of our team of my spotting abilities, so I am forced by circumstance into a spotting/capping role. What advice would you give to us when playing French dds in this situation?
Hi Wildlifeman63, this is never easy. If playing against a stealthy dd concentrate on getting his general location and spot his support cruisers and encourage your support to push the enemy destroyer's support back. Only when this support falls back can you take the cap and engage the destroyer. It involves patience and playing a more passive role and not doing damage in the opening phases.
Hi again Bluegumtiger, it's a good question. I just feel the extended speed boost doesn't give me the same protection as DC mod 1 which reduces the risk of fire and flooding by 5%. Again it's a very personal choice but I have tried it and it just seemed I was taking multiple fires so many times I reverted back to DC mod 1. However as the tiers go higher top speed also increases and the speed boost module might become more viable. I'll have to do more testing when I get the Le Fantasque and Mogador.
The gun reload booster sounds like a great idea on paper, but at only 15 seconds, is next to useless. Giving up smoke screen is too much to pay for it. This might be the worst ship in the game IMO.
Hello again -) It takes time and practice. Learn to gather information about where potential threats close to you are located and when you are spotted just assume they are all aiming at you if they have line of sight, be ready the second you see the IFA warning to instantly change course and speed. It's not for everyone but with practice it becomes very very effective for negating incoming damage. You might try it and hate it and revert back to PT just to feel more comfortable. Personally I have found running the combination of IFA and Radio Location to be incredibly informative and really helps situational awareness. As you now know these are suggested builds and I try to show as much as possible in the videos how they work and how you can use them to your advantage.
@@CarbineCarlito , great, thanks for your thoughts. I do prefer alternative routes and rather try non cookie cutter stuff. I will give it a try with a bit more advanced captain to be able to combine those skills.
Hi David, Those BBs also made the concious decision to keep pushing into a vulnerable position. These are mistakes commonly made that one can and must take advantage of to win and have good games.
You always sound as if you are recording at night in your room and don't want to get caught by your mom. Seriously, you should modulate your voice to add avoid being so monotoned.

How do feel about using the speed boost module (purchased for coal)?

Enemy CV was not helping the push to your cap, leaving BBs facing 3 DDs without support.
