loving the build, nice work challenging yourself. all horse stables are different depending on climate, location, materials ect. You can have some that rival people's houses or a simple 4 post with a tin roof. A lot of stables have tac rooms where feed, saddles, bridles ect go. Horses are very clever and if they can figure out how to open there stall they will. There is no 1 fit all. From my knowledge a lot of barns/stables are separate from the main quarters due to fire risk particularly newer builds as the fire codes are updated.

You can make stairs to a small balcony on the side of the second floor, under the roof, with a second entrance to break up this "box" 🎉👍🏽
