- Our contractor couldn't install our sliding gate because it didn't have a tail, so we had to pick up the slack and install it ourselves.

You’re missing a part on the brick pier that the gate closes up to, to hold the top of the gate in position when it’s closed. There should be a receiving bracket for the gate to slot into so that it can’t be pushed away from the wall and off of the tracks
I mentioned I was going to add it on at the end, you can see it there at 14:39, but thanks for looking out 👊
Where did you got the track kits and motor and those AEG tools looks exactly like Ridgid tools here
Did you ever find out what unit this is?
@@vfpaintjobs all these brands are Chinese made that sold online, the American ones that’s assembled in China cost about 10x more. I got a Chinese one and their customer service is nice when I have a problem with it. I got a Blütezeit Store 1800 pound gate opener for my 24ft aluminum gate I build
It was useful and I did enjoy watching. I thought the earmuffs over the hoodie with the sunglasses made the whole thing. 🙂
Damn good job! loved the perfection on the alignment with the concrete slabs in the drive way!
Thanks mate, are you installing a gate too?
I have to do this in the next year.. but it will be raked quite a bit. Massive job I'm sure.
What brand is the gate opener?
Overboard
Just moved into a house with a front gate, no motor. I'd very much like to not have to get out of my car on my way out/in to close it behind me. This was very helpful. I just wanted to see how a typical gate motor might work. I definitely plan to install one straight away so I can open/close my gate remotely.
Great Job first but, not sure about the Regs in Australia but in Europe we require safety photcells for closing on the outside of the pillar as a minimum. Thats a strong motor to get pined by, again impressive install just as an installer liability is a concern
Very helpful video mate! Thanks!
What kind ,Name is the gate its not in the notes . ?
You looking for a disaster with the extention of the gate in aluminum
?
Thanks mate just what I needed to finish my gate. Good job
Do you do installation mate? Can I have your number please.
I'm not a professional, but if you're in the Gold Coast and you can't find anyone, let me know and I see if I can help.
Great job sir thanks for video
How ling did thit take you to complete
Did it over the weekend, first day was just prep - getting rid of the rust and painting. Second day was bolting things together. Let me know how you get on.
Motor brand,model?
Brand BFT, model ares or icaro
@@ARBANATmodel & serial number to this unit and the tracks and brackets, I need this exact kit for my gate ? Thank you ,if you can
great job
Whoever build that stole your money, they tacked all the metal sheets...
👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏excellent work
Awesome job , top marks
impressive, would have been easier with a mate to help
What about the safety, Very dangerous gate. You need to cover the trapping , drag in and sheer points. Then it has to pass a force test .two children were killed in England, the installers went to prison. Please look into safety edges and photo cells
The motor I use stops if there's resistance, but you can also install a sensor if you plan on having your kids/dogs play unattended while you're driving in and out of your driveway.
@@headsofestatethat BFT motor is pretty strong and is capable of killing someone. I install automation but this setup doesn’t worry me too much. The main issue is with auto close. If you want to instantly make this system safer change the mode to semi-auto so it doesn’t move unexpectedly. Also make sure the gate can’t fall out of its guides and fall on someone, that’s the number one cause of death with gates.
Silicone is corrosive. It will aid rust. Not prevent it.
I need to install the gate
Let me know how you get on
this is such a nice looking gate. where can we purchase this?
not so nice? defects and too small?
those openers are cheap how much do they charge for installation?
Outstanding job! Brownie points for being sun smart too 😉
Nice one, have you got or are getting a gate too?
Great video. Good work too.
Is your fence/wall plaster? Looks really clean!
It's mostly just concrete with render, and a tiny bit of block and render. There's videos of the install on the channel.
Absolutely brilliant 👏
