The police work was abysmal indeed but at that time Northern Ireland was still a place of horrific violence because of the troubles that I imagine they had so much on their plate during that time that this case wasn’t investigated properly and also because these were all members of this strict church and these 2 killers put on a front that they were people who were decent and God fearing, attending church etc but plenty of people didn’t believe it was a suicide because those who knew Lesley said she would never have left her 4 children, she was such a devoted mother and hazels husband Trevor was a lovely decent man who it’s highly doubtful that he would have left his children either, Trevor’s biggest problem was that he didn’t earn enough to make hazel happy, she was apparently very materialistic

Northern Ireland is a 6-county statelet that was created in 1921 after the British withdrew from the rest of the island of Ireland.
Northern Ireland remained part of the United Kingdom. This led to civil war and more recently a war that lasted decades.
Today the violence hasn't returned to the heights of the 80s or 90s but the potential for it has been simmering for quite some time.
Especially with Brexit (UK exiting Europe). This has caused many problems and the threat of violence has reared its head again.
The hope of Irish nationalists is that the whole of the island will one day be united again, north and south. Whereas the unionist population are determined to keep Northern Ireland part of the UK.

And Dennis Nilsson? Be interesting to see him cover the case of the scumbags who murdered that little boy Rhys Jones and then tried to cover it up and how the shooters parents covered for them. Or even the case of Crazy Titch who was a pioneer of the grime scene before it became mainstream, but is now doing life for murder. Although, those cases might be a bit too straightforward. There isn't much deep analysis you can do on those cases, because it's pretty straightforward. They were just people who thought they were gangsters. Crazy T got caught and those other scumbags ended up murdering a little boy by mistake. A case I'd be fascinated to hear about is the case of Blanche Monnier, although that was in like the 1800s so I don't think there'd be enough literature on the subject for Dr Grande to be as thorough as he likes to be. Another interesting one would be the murder of Damilola Taylor.

The husband was a cop and his wife a teacher. it was confirmed her husband ejaculated onto cup cakes and she then took them to her class and served them to the children!!! Both of them also collected videos of children being violated. She has pled guilty and is testifying against her husband for a lesser sentence. As always, nothing but top notch content and your well respected "not diagnosing just speculating" opinions of the subject(s). This is my 5th year of subbing to your channel, obviously I have watched many many of your videos. Sometimes more than once, even twice! Do you know of the case of David and Sandra Duyst (nee Bozeman)? This one really got to me, because of an "accident" Sandy encountered but chose to keep the truth about what occurred a secret to everyone. Sandy will end up regretting not speaking out, except for a hidden letter snuck away in a cabinet. Forgive me if you've already speculated on this one, I couldn't find it in your channel and I don't remember hearing you speak of it. It is truly a fascinating story. How far a devoted wife will go to protect her husband and the picture perfect marriage, sometimes just baffles my mind! Lastly, I have to compliment the color of your shirt in this video! I have always loved the salmons and the pinks and the corals, those colors look very nice on you! Thanks for taking the time if you had a chance to read my comment!

Excellent video, Dr. Grande! It is sad, they dogged the memory of the male murder victim. What's more: The female killer who was complicit waited until the Gravy Train which was Dr. Colin Howell to run it's course, then immediately gets him to tell on himself. Due to her ignorance of the law, she failed to realize it was her end as well. I still have a positive outlook on humanity, yet it is instances like this that sadden my heart. Salud!

    • @nagolhayze9366
      @nagolhayze9366 2 роки тому

It wasn’t the ‘female Killer’ who encouraged him to confess, she kept her silence right to the end, it was Howell’s second wife who pressured him to confess, when things began to go down hill financially.
His accomplice in the double murder Hazel Stewart was also in a second marriage to a retired police inspector, she had no remorse, or pangs of conscience, she was in a happy place and being well cared for. What a cold, cold, heart she had.
If Howell hadn’t of confessed no one would have been illuminated about her part in the double murders.
Howell and Stewart are dark, evil, narcissistic killers, motivated by ego, sex and money, they had their weeks in court, Howell confessing, while Hazel Stewart remained in complete denial, they were given a platform to communicate, their voices were heard in an open public court with lawyers by their sides.
The two innocent victims, the other husband and wife, the faithful ones, the true believers, had their lives and voices silenced, they were unheard, and did not have a voice in any of this protracted trail.
The consequences of Howell and Stewart’s complex evil will have a lasting effect and influence on the surviving family members and the children of the victims.
What dark deep displays of evil the human heart is capable of.

This guy calls to mind Joan Cusack in Addams Family Values, Colin was a busy maniac.
Not a 5-factor expert, but I peg him high on openness to experience and low on everything else.
Perhaps mid-high on extroversion, which garnered him enough social capital for the cops to be inclined to blow the investigation.
I deducted points from the extraversion factor because he tended to sedate so many acquaintances.
I adore your subtle humor, and hearing what you make of things. This one was not just horrific but, when you think of a woman building an entire life with a man, then finding out he’s not the man you thought you married, and far front it. It’s not always easy.

"Marathon Man, Chapter Two": Colin Howell is the typical killer dentist. As I have written, Marathon Man, the film with Dustin Hoffman and Laurence Olivier, is the archetypal character sketch for this more recent iteration. A gold obsessed dentist, he wasn't satisfied with the fillings in his patients' mouths. He hungered for more, and then more. Like a neighbor's wife, strictly forbidden by the God of the Old Testament. You aren't suppose to covet your neighbors oxen, sheep, calves, or asses, or his wife. Colin didn't listen. But then, to be fair, how many people really do listen to anything other than their inner promptings to indulge their desires and their fantasies. For the typical "modern individual" life is simply about satisfying our longings. Now no one has a strong sense of duty or responsibility; and if they do, it's not founded on anything, so even that's perverse. But I would like to comment, briefly, on an article about Howell that appeared in the BBC: "There were two sides to Colin Howell. He is both an upstanding man, community-minded, and a Christian, but also deeply involved in adultery and murder." How can both of these claims be true at the same time? Thanks for reading.

I am a patient at this dental practice. I'm so glad he's not a dentist there now. I have met one of his American wife's children who was a friend of my son's. My son was in Howell's house a few times. My son was about 18 at the time. It gives me the creeps to think he was in a murderer's house.

The thought of just resuming your "romance" after killing your spouses is a level of thinking I can't quite understand.

Thank you for this interesting video.
I have to say, I wasn't very surprised that these two murders were also religious. There has been many scandals surrounding vicar’s and priests and godly people. With in their minds they seem to separate their own gratification and greed and believe they're right in what they do.
“Colin believed that he stopped the suffering of Trevor and Leslie by putting them out of their misery 🤷‍♀️
That confession by Colin beggars belief.

I’d really like to hear your thoughts on the Travis Reinking’s case.
    Best regards

Those poor children. In my opinion, there's no truer sign of a narcissist than somebody who thinks their son was killed in an accident to punish themselves. It's like his son didn't exist for any other reason than to either make him happy or make him sad. No life or existence of his own. It's also a good sign that you're a narcissist if you think your spouse has to die for your infidelity. Like, what? How does that even make sense? And for Pete's sake, what a shoddy police investigation. Nothing to see here folks. Just two dead people who were victims of two cases of infidelity whose cheating partners end up together after they're out of the way.

How do all of these adults rationalize the effects on their children? Colin had 9 children and took away the mother of the oldest four. Hazel knew of those children and had two of her own. It seems the children were not valued at all. The second wife ultimately did the right thing but how could she stand the fact this man could be so diabolical and especially that he took their mother from them, the children were around in the house, etc. Did he kill the family dog, as well? This whole case is outlandish and bizarre and difficult to believe that the police could not figure this out. Did you make this up, dear Doc?..😶

He definitely did not make this up. This is a true story and there was a television drama made about it. It is difficult to comprehend that people who profess to being Christian would carry out these despicable acts.

It always strikes me as odd at the lengths certain people are willing to go for “love”, they would rather plan & execute a murder/murders than just file for divorce?! I understand that some people take the til “death do us part” as a reason for staying together but clearly Colin & Hazel took the meaning literally. It”s scary to think that if not for a scorned second wife ,Colin & Hazel very may have gotten away with the “perfect murders”. I am also surprised at the relatively light sentences they both were granted. Two murders & however many victims that the dentist assaulted! Thank you Dr. Grande for yet another brilliant analysis 💯😊
