Had a similar issue and figured it out. You have to manually take out the black plastic piece. It has a finger with a crossed out circle over it. That piece has to come out before you load it into the camera. On the end there is a black film strip. Looks closely and you'll see 2 individual pieces. One of these is connected to the black piece that has to come out. Pull on this and it will come out of the film pack. Then load your camera lining up the yellow marks. My camera printed right the blank white film right away after closing the lid. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the comment! I just picked up this camera for our New Year's Eve festivities and it's been a long time since I loaded it with film. I appreciate your comment! Happy New Year!
Good day! How did you properly un-load the cartridge after it's stuck? I had the same problem, and it happened TWICE in a row already. It's my first two film packs, both of which are gone to waste now since they're exposed after trying to forcefully remove. :( please help me good sir
Hi, I'm having the same issue you had. Upon inserting new films in my Instax Evo Mini, the black one is not ejected. Do you happen to remember how you did to solve this issue ? Many thanks
@@WesKriesel didn't work out for me 😔. Ive read on reddit there was a production line issue. I might have a defective one. Asked for a new one but shipping in April. Thank you for the advice and the video
Hiiii please i have the same issue. I wanted to try my instax mini evo for the first time, so I loaded the film and it didn’t eject the black one. Please help me 🙌🏻 thanks 😊

I'm so sorry - I haven't used it recently and don't remember. I will load some fresh film and try it out. Hopefully you figured it out.
Yes me too and I lost the ticket 😅

Remove the black one before you load the film. It's just a placeholder or protector, not an actual frame of film
Same problem. How do you fix it? I think the black one is stuck in the roller and I can't take out the film.

WTF is this? A video on how NOT to load the film? Why would you publish such a disaster?
