i feel Nintendo is going to go for a sense of massive scope with this upcoming 3D Mario game just like what BOTW did for Zelda, so it very well could be the first open world entry but most certainly will be the most ambitious 3D Mario game to date, surpassing both Galaxy & Odyssey... sort of envision what they did with Bowser's Fury X the poster art for the Super Mario Bros movie of Mario overlooking the mushroom kingdom in all it's glory and detail and think new game... also going open world will decrease or downright omit loading times as all the past 3D Mario games are segmented, even in Odyssey for example when you leave a kingdom to fly to a new one... you get a brief cutscene of Mario in the clouds looking out of the porthole of the Odyssey, and then a quick dialogue bit w/ Cappy inside... and then you land on the kingdom... that is the game masking the loading of the kingdom... so going open world will be an advantage and make the game a more seamless experience... even in BOTW/TOTK the games only load when entering shrines...
For my ideal Mario game, I've said this before, but I want to combine both aspects of Mario's 2D and 3D games. Basically have use power ups from his 2D games with moves he could pull off in his 3D titles like 64, Sunshine, Galaxy, and Odyssey. Like imagine grabbing a Fire Flower or Ice Flower, and equipping yourself with F.L.U.D.D. You could spray hot water at enemies, or with the Ice Flower, gush out freezing cold water that could form bridges or pillars of ice.
Either a Mario odyssey deluxe, Mario odyssey sequel, or a very new open world Mario game by exploring the whole mushroom kingdom and every thing we’ve visited in the past
I would absolutely *LOVE* to see an open world-Mario-Game, too. But I really want it to be fully open world. Not like Bowser's Fury where you had to unlock specific areas. I think it would be awesome if it was like BotW or TotK, so that everything is accessible right from the beginning, but of course with the great Mario-Movement. And the movement should be complete at the start in my opinion. I hear many people who want something like a skill-tree, but this just wouldn't fit in a Mario-Game. I've always loved about Mario-Games that you have every move right from the very beginning. You don't become faster or jump higher while progressing. This would just kill platform-challenges, and you definitley need them in a platformer-game. And I don't want to have to learn the Triple-Jump for example. I want to be able to do it from the very beginning. I would make the main-collectible make something like this: You can go whereever you want in every possible order in this world, except of the final boss. Bowser is behind a great gate and the player needs to build some kind of weapon (a big hammer for example) in order to break the gate and enter the final boss. So you can actually explore Bowser's castle instantly, but you can't go to Bowser (or the main antagonist, it doesn't have to be Bowser). Every main boss has a specific element which you need to build this weapon. So you have to defeat every main boss and beside this collect many of the main-collectibles (but not every) to enter the final boss and beat the game. Or you need just 4 of the 7 (for example) main bosses and the main-collectibles. Or they make it like in the newest Zelda-Games and you can instantly go to Bowser (or whoever or whatever the main antagonist will be), but I would prefer the former idea. And there should be some collectibles that are just there, but they aren't important in sense of beating the game. Like the Purple Coins in Mario Odyssey or the Korogs in BotW and TotK. Many little things that make exploring worth it and gives you a smile on your face. 😊 These are some of my ideas to this. And I think an open world-Mario-Game, if done right, would be the ultimate videogame. 😍 Good video. 👍
The kind of 3D Mario game I hope to get on Switch 2 is a game where Mario and Luigi get married to Peach and Daisy respectively. Both weddings take place at Peach’s Castle at the same time. The day after the weddings, the Mario brothers receive letters from their wives, the princesses, about a honeymoon invitation. On their way to the honeymoon, suddenly, the Mario Bros. run into Bowser who has taken the princesses. Bowser (intending to steal the marriage to Peach from Mario) sets off on his ship for his Castle on the moon for his wedding while giving Daisy a front row seat. Mario and Luigi get onto Bowser’s ship only for Kamek to suddenly appear and knock the brothers off with his magic and send them flying (similar to what happened at the beginning of Super Mario Galaxy). Mario and Luigi wake up in an unfamiliar land (similar to what happened at the beginning of Super Mario Galaxy) and meet someone new. Mario and Luigi also take turns adventuring to stop Bowser’s wedding and rescue their wives. They will have to travel to various kingdoms on a ship called “The Honeymoon” and collect Power Moons to get to the moon (similar to Super Mario Odyssey). The player can choose to play as Mario or Luigi. The game supports 2-player mode. In 2-player mode, one player is Mario, and the other is Luigi. Also in 2-player mode, the screen is split vertically.
@@nike4134 I didn't say rush just open more studios. There's been 1 mainline since botw and about to be 2 and a couple months. It's ridiculous to only get one in a console generation
Hard to tell what Nintendo will do in the months leading to 2025, but if Bowser's Fury was/is any indication then an open-world Mario game is in order.
@@PainfullySoberAndUnhinged Nintendo aren't going to rehash jumping into paintings leading to other parts! That's already been done in Super Mario 64 and would be sloppy!

Hopefully we get a full open world Mario game like an expanded Bowser's Fury.
I would love for bowser’s fury to have a sequel
I can't wait to see how creative they get with the gameplay and level design, so excited!
If its gonna end up like TotK its not gonna be good.
@@dice5709 Dude ngl even if its just more of what odyssey gave us thats perfectly fine I love odyssey
Hear me out. “ Super Mario: Return to Yoshi’s Island. “ A new 3D open world Mario game!
I say no to the urban environment, I want crazy worlds not worlds we all live in.
Galaxy 3 with 300 stages would be a FAR better game, than one utterly giant world. Not so fun to backtrack, etc

I really wish we could get more than 2 Zelda game in a 8 year span
it is enough to me, i do not want them to rush their games.

Well that's about the pace of modern 3D game design. Takes a few years to make them. Gets longer as the graphics improve.
I hope it returns to the aesthetic roots of Super Mario 1-World. I liked the Mushroom Kingdom to be the main world with original enemies.
I hope the next 3d Mario game has some callbacks to sunshine like how odyssey had callbacks to Mario 64.
I dont want an open air mario game. Segmented and separate levels i the same world worked amazingly for all other single player 3d marios games.
Agreed, but I’m worried that Nintendo is just going to try to replicate what they’ve done with Zelda.

hope so.. fingers crossed for galaxy 3 boys ~🎃
They're isn't going to be a Super Mario Galaxy 3!!! Nintendo already confirmed ages ago Super Mario Galaxy 2 was the last game in that adventure 👍🏾
It would be kind of cool if the next one was a Metroidvania.
I really hope that it’s more like the old 3D Mario games, where it has actual levels.
What if open world with paintings which lead to openish levels?

I would love odessey 2 with sunshine map
2 Nintendo generations before gta 6 is crazy
I just want a hub world lol

clickbaiting, so sad.
That thumbnail design looks weird. Almost chibi mario.. kid with a mustache
