For the best fish and chips in Edinburgh go to the City Restaurant, next door to The Festival Theatre on Nicolson Street (do NOT make the mistake of going to the similarly named = and also close by - City Cafe). I recommend that you sit in (it's also a "takeaway" establishment). And be sure to ask for Haddock, not Cod. Please do this or I'll burst into tears!
Do you guys make chip butties? That is what the side bread and butter is for. You can't get much more British than a chip butty. :)
Come to dundee and see the v&a.
Leeds headingly fish and chip shop near headingly stadium and also Whitby in North Yorkshire
J
He's an ugly guy and the gf is stunning
Your enthusiasm is so infectious wherever you go nothing gets you down. You guys truly are living the dream 👌👍. Always a pleasure watching your vlogs!
joananne prieat....up the republic of scotland.
Loved this video. I cried when I seen you were in Anstruther for the fish and chips and visited Pittenweem. I recently lost both parents and they got married in Pittenweem, it was our yearly holiday and always went to Anstruther for the fish and chips. Loved the reaction from you both. It really is the best you'll ever have 💙💙💙
You didn't pay respect to this bishop, then you hurt your leg.
Yep the Bishop is not easily mocked, Eric had it coming
bish ... bash!
I think he said he bashed it getting ON to the boat, but maybe the bishop can foresee such disregard.
Don't diss the Bish!
don't bash the Bishop more like.
Nice to see you guys enjoying Scotland's delights so much.
Wow, wonderful drone shots! 😎 We love to see our destinations from another perspective too - love to fly 😍
What an incredible Island! So far it's turned out to be one of the most beautiful that you've visited. Love that you arrived there before everybody else. Aww, such vicarious dreams!
You kids are amazing. So glad you're touring my homeland. Looking forward to anywhere else you travel to. 🤗
You guys are cool, love seeing your adventures. My guess is your both half my age so I get to live vicariously with you showing the stuff I have not, or will never see. Keep living life, you only get one.
Really like seeing the two of you traveling everywhere as a couple. Keep enjoying your life! :)
You will totally understand this. Us British & Irish get every now and then a absolute craving for fish n chips, for me it is even stronger when I have been at sea or by the sea for a few hours.
Dont get fish and chips in Ireland like England not even close
Well, I've been to Whitby so the bar is pretty high but, when I lived in Dublin (Phibsborough) there was a "world famous" chipper just round the corner. Can't remember the name and it's closed down now but it wasn't very good and very expensive. Must've been good marketing.
Mr family Man your right, cause irish fish and chips is just better!
Us British us scottish she's in Scotland one of the small countries in Britain!!
I'm a curry roll addict.
Squeeze the lemon wedge over the fish, the vinegar over the chips!
@Victor Murat my comment was from a professional point of view, people have their personal preferences, and that's as it should be!
Nice to see people visiting the UK and not just moaning about the weather, we have so much more to offer, glad you enjoyed yourself.
Well done VisitScotland, getting the 2 best UA-cam travel bloggers to promote Scotland
I think this was the first video of your I watched. Must have watched over 50 since. Great channel. Thank you.
My Uncle used to spend his whole summer's as a teenage (40 years ago) on the isle of May watching the birds.
If you ever get to North Yorkshire, and you should or you will miss something special, there is a small fishing town called Whitby. I think you would both love it. Whitby is mentioned in Bram Stokers 'Dracula' and there is a Gothic festival every year where people dress up for the occasion. Whitby is also where you can get, (IMO) the best Fish n Chips in England - there are plenty of places to get fish & Chips and the one to look for is just over the little bridge in the harbour, however, the most popular one is called 'The Magpie' people queue for their fish & Chips you can eat in or out - Whitby is a great place and there are many picturesque villages and towns to visit. Hope you do get there as it would be a shame if you missed it.
David Collins don’t o my bother in laws mum is from Yorkshire, an say fish in Glasgow better
Well Since I havn't had Fish n Chips in Glasgow I can't comment, but I did say the best in England. If I ever visit Glasgow Ill have to try them
Whitby best Fish & Chips . Trenches the batter is so nice the fish light and fluffy.
Went to the Magpie about 10 yrs ago. Was good, not mind blowing. Looks like Trenchers is now the king chippy...
I've been to Whitby, wonderful magical place during the tourist season.
You guys make where I live look amazing. So glad you enjoyed yourselves, and I'll have my eyes more open in future. Sometimes it takes someone else to point out the obvious, for which I thank you. Continue to be amazed!
My fave Scottish fish and chips! I've just moved from Scotland to Canada and this makes me SO homesick!! PS If you ever head to Norfolk in England, head to Eric's Fish & Chips...one of the best there!
Your videos are excellent thanks for showing some parts of my country I haven’t even been to
Most of the fishing villages in Scotland will have superb fresh fish and chips, my favourite is The Seaforth Chippy in Ullapool another award winning place.
Found your channel today. Really enjoyable, fun and wonderful video/editing 👍
Great video as always you lovely pair!! And the fish and chips looked to die for!! Love from a very sunny England! 😋🙌🤗
Really great upload, i enjoy watching your vids very juch!
I love the seals around Scotland. They’re just curious little water dogs 😍
Lived in fife for 20 odd years, anstruther crail and pittenweem are my favourite coastal fishing villages
Scotland is beautiful!
Love your videos. Surprisingly best fish and chips we had were at the Scottish Seabird center in North Berwick. We saw puffins too! It was my favorite little town ever!!!
Another great, insightful adventure guys! I've been subscribed for a while and this is my first comment on a video lol Great content and I get so excited when I see a new video from you all! ✨🌙☁️
Love you guys , but please visit Bamburgh Castle and the village if you're in Northumberland. It's just across the Scottish border and you should really check it out. The holy island of lindisfarne is nearby and amazing too.
It glows red orange in the setting sun!😊
Best fish 'n' chips I have had were in Whitby port, Yorkshire. Mwah! But the Anstruther Fish Bar looks epically yum ❤️👌🏽😃
Whitby? Jeremy Clarkson agrees with you! I've never been to Whitby so I'd have to say Grimsby.
Still plenty of good chippies in Grimsby and Cleethorpes. Used to be able to take your own fish in to be fried. Haddock, fried in dripping with beer in the batter is the way it should be done. And don’t forget the scraps!
Came here to post this ^
The Pilot inn, Dungeness. Right by the nuclear power station.
BuddahUK I’ve been to Whitby and Anstruther, anstruther is only an hour away from me I was just in anstruther fish bar today and I saw this video
Ah, I went to isle of may and the fish shop when i was living in fife for collage. I had lemon sole was lovely.
Have watched you for the last 2 years and love them. As I’m from the U.K. it’s great to boost our country whether it’s England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Island. Would love to contact you as I’m fortunate enough to sponsor you for months while your here
I don't normally watch travel programmes because the big TV productions fail to connect, but I have to say, you two are brilliant!
"The Endless Adventure," is my one and only travel programme. I love you're style and what's really great is that even in my own country (Britain), you've shown me loads of great little places I'd never have found if I hadn't watched, so thank you.
If you love Scotland and you have about a week to spare you should walk the West Highland Way. It's 96 miles long but which for us was about 8 day hikes. We wild camped because we did it for charity, (Cancer Research UK) but you can day hike from hotels and B&B's along the way and they bus your luggage for you to each location. I can honestly say I have never walked anywhere as beautiful. We went mid May, the weather was hot but we avoided the midge season.
Keep it up you two, best travel show there is.
Jason.
Wow fife looks great, I live in beautiful Wales and Scotland is quite far away but after seeing this a holiday in Scotland is a must 😍
Everything looked so good!!
Great to see you in my home area! Those probably are the best fish and chips you'll get anywhere, though other towns in the East Neuk have good chippys too. Glad you're enjoying your time here.
YES! The Anstruther Fish Market is the BEST! We went a couple years ago on our visit to Scotland and we hope to go back when we return next month!
What a coincidence! Been watching the vlogs for a few weeks and there you are round the corner from my mums! Loving your work! St. Andrews is worth a wee visit too, you can visit the beach where they filmed scenes from Chariots of Fire and check out the Tailend fish restaurant if you do.
St Andrews definitely not to be missed!
Thanks for another great vlog! I am having so much fun watching you guys, I hope you stay in Scotland / England/Ireland for awhile. I wold love to see some Irish countryside videos. Adding Isle of May to current massive bucket list! My favorite fish n chips was from the UK of course 😊
Can't believe I've lived in Scotland all my life, looked at the Isle of May for years, and you two have been there before me! That chippy is really good, but I can also recommend Marco's on the Shore in Arbroath. Great fish and chips, plus a Smokey, too
Ok Guys, looks like you had a great day! Now you have to visit Aldeburgh on the Suffolk coast (and Suffolk itself is beautiful - East of England). There is a fish and chip there called the Aldeburgh Fish & Chip Shop. They serve the best fish and chips and been voted the best in England. There is a queue out the door, but well worth it. I had them on my birthday, sat on the beach with a bottle of chilled prosecco. The best fish and chips I've ever tasted. Perfect!
my favourite was in oban, as a kid me and my mum used to drive about 2 hours just for it and the scenery of course.
I guessed the village right at the very beginning of the video. I love Fife. My cousin lives in Ceres a little village in the centre of.the kingdom and my brother went to St Andrews uni.
Another wonderful video, to think these lovely fishing villages are an hours drive away from where I stay in the Lanarkshiry neck of the woods. anyway, Where are the best fish suppers/ High teas we have tried heres mines 1---Aberdeen Scotland 2/ --Ramsgate Kent and 3 /-- Girvan--Ayrshire Loved the look of those Prawn ball thingys My wife and I are having an omelette and salad tonight, Im on the verge of ditching that plan and nipping down to the chippy for a fish supper.
I'm really enjoying every moment od the travels please keep on trucking. My wife and I are going to Zeebrugge on a cruise ship and staying in Zeebrugge for four days. I will be adding it to my youtube channel when we come back home. love to you both xx
I am without words. Fantastic!
You guys are living my dream and i'm so grateful for that. The best fish and chips I have ever had is 'The Fisheries' in Melksham, Wiltshire. They have been in Melksham as long as I can remember and I am 47 years young. They have photos from the 1950's on the walls of their shop and I remember our Dad getting us dinner as a treat when I was a little lad and it was the best!!!!! The batter was and is amazing to this day.
Just stumbled across your channel from watching Kara and Nate, so I'm watching through all of your UK vlogs as I'm planning a trip there this summer. Thanks for sharing! To answer your question: the best fish and chips I've had was in Scotland, out on the Isle of Skye, at the Taigh Ailean hotel pub. So. Good.
OMG scotland is my favorite place in the entire world ...i'm so jealous 👌👌👌
Your question about the best fish and chips, for me it was in Southend-on-Sea in Essex, England. I had the scampi and chips with tartare sauce - the scampi just melted in the mouth. Happy travels, you always get great shots.
I love so much fish and ships...
That look so good at this restaurant.
Best fish and chips ive had ,from the bus on the seafront on the isle of arran on the west coast. Great film !!!
Another fantastic video, totally engrossing !
So glad you guys are enjoying Scotland. You should come to New Lanark, its a very popular tourist spot. Quiet this time of year though so you would have most of it to yourselfs. Peace x
That very first shot looked so much like you were standing on Salerie Corner!
You guys are so gorgeous 😍 watching your videos reminds me why I’m so proud to be British....! Just went back and watched your Cotswold one which is local to us and your Cornwall Fish and Chips vid....great advocates for the 🇬🇧 thanks for being so positive and lovely!!!
The editing in on point here!
I live in Fife a stone throw away from the hot tub lodge and I never really knew such wonders were so close to me. Like the cave, and I didn’t know you could take a boat trip to the isle of may that is defo on my list! I’ve been to the coco tree and they do the worlds best hot chocolate (in my opinion) and I’ve booked the hot tub lodge for my birthday in June this year! I decided to try it because I can take my dog and I believe with this pandemic that having a local holiday is the best for this year thanks for the video you guys :)
The phrase living the dream is thrown about a lot but you two travelers really are living your dream, and the good thing is you're still friendly approachable nice people from your early videos many moons ago till now. Keep living the dream your videos are always super enjoyable, head south to Northumberland one time we'd be proud to have you take care adventurers :)
Glad you enjoyed the Fish n Chips. If you venture down the East coast of England, to Bridlington (East Yorkshire) then try Fish and Chips 149. They are also award winning and rather nice! Take away only though and reqular queues out of the door!
The best fish and chips I have ever had was at The Royal Oak, in Whatlington, news Bodiam Castle, East Sussex. Awesome fish and chips, super nice staff and charming pub. Everything was lovely
Enjoy your Fish ‘n’ Chips Guys. I’ll be having a chippy tea tonight as well. Lucky to have one of the best here in Lancaster. X
Mark Smith Is that Hodgson's Chippy on Prospect Street by any chance? I grew up in Lancaster (lived close by on Bowerham Road) and that was our regular. Always fantastic. I'm lucky that my new local (Clock Tower Fish Bar in Kingswood, Bristol) is also great!
wow, now i can some part of scotland and foods, coz of you, txns endless adventure😃💙👍
You definitely need to go to Whitby in North Yorkshire for your fish and chips
Pickled eggs have been around WV for a long time. Usually colored and flavored with beets and pickling spice. Oh they are usually served at bars with beer.
another brilliant video. I love you guys.
Looks like great fun. Keep traveling while you can because once you have kids, they really kill your mojo. I don't have any but I've seen it. Thanks for the great wildlife shots too.
Next time you're in Fife, try going from my hometown of Dunfermline down along the coast through to Culross. (There's also a cycle/walk route on a former railway line further inland that will take you even further to Clackmannan where you can check out the tower and stop for a drink, etc., then cycle back along the coast to Dunfermline. It's a very long walk or a decent day's ride.)
Next time in Scotland, try the east coast, Perth, Dundee, and the fishing villages all the road up to Aberdeen.
Best fish and chips I’ve ever had are from a place about 5 minutes away from my house... Anstruther fish bar 😊 honestly love them!!!
I used to live in Fife before we moved down to England. Ugh, you're making me miss it!! 😂
The best time to see puffins is July and August I think. And the best place in Scotland to see them is the Isle of Lunga on the west coast. There's hundreds of them and they literally walk right up to your feet.
Yep and Ailsa Craig in the Irish sea is another good Seabird hangout--but the best of all in Scotland is the Bass Rock out in the Firth of Forth
Fife is missing you and Ruby too.
@@MrTumshie 😭
Most sea-birds will have finished breeding by July so will all have left the cliffs. Best time to go see is late May.
I've been to that chip shop - it is fantastic. To be honest, most fish and chips you get in the UK are really good (especially those on the coast), unless it's one of those shops that tries to do every cuisine under the sun, where they're generally bad. Chips cooked in beef dripping are AMAZING!
The best fish and chips I ever had was in Mallaig scotland at Jaffy's! Honestly soooo good! Worth the wait!
Warwick Castle in the midlands is beautiful. Well worth a visit.
Rule of thumb; if the queue for a chippy is out of the door it's a good one! Had the best cod and chips ever last night at Pick Ups in Crowborough, East Sussex. Had a medium portion of cod and chips and it almost beat me. Cod was cooked to perfection and just fell apart, batter crispy and the chips were light and fluffy but firm. 3 medium portions for about 15 quid. Perfect! Shame that I live in Eastbourne.
A pickled egg is a traditional pub snack to go with a pint of real ale. Sometimes even dropped in the beer and eaten once the glass is empty.
You guys are funny when talking about the quality of the food and the surroundings !! Im born in Scotland from that area and that is the normal, we expect that !
I now although live in Spain where the weather is a bit better. But i go home regularly to visit !
Barbican Fish and Chicken, Plymouth, near the Mayflower Steps (Pilgrim Fathers), so guys you gotta go. Best fish, chips, curry sauce, mushy peas in the West. If it's Thursday eve go to the Minerva Inn pub afterwards for a pint of real ale less than 10mins walk away cos it's music night and we do a lot of American folk songs etc. It's the oldest pub in Plymouth, 1540. Francis Drake was a regular back in his day!
When you fry fish in batter the batter helps to steam the fish resulting in a crispy batter and succulent fish.
I was stationed at RAF Bentwaters 1981 - 1983 near Ipswich. The one thing I miss the most is the Fish and Chips. The little trucks on about every corner wrapped in newspaper. Salt and vinegar... man those were the best of times.
Great video guys, if you ever come further north the best fish and chip shop is ‘THE BAY’. it’s in a small village called Stonehaven. Then right next door you get amazing ice cream at ‘Aunt Betty’s’. Hope to see you back in Scotland one day.
Happy Saint Patrick's Day from Springfield, Missouri!
You two undoubtedly really enjoyed your Scottish fish and chips!
I just had fish and chips for dinner myself, to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day. BUT both the battered fish fillets and the fries were frozen, and I bought them both at Walmart.
They have mars bars in batter in the chippies in jockland ,sweaty sock land:)
The best rule is to have your fish 'n chips as close to the sea as possible. When I was younger, we had our fish 'n chips as a family at Skegness. However, we recently went to a seaside town called "Westward Ho!" And the warm gulf stream and white sandy beach made the fish 'n chips the best I ever had. I wish I could have some right now, and then go play with my family and friends in the warm water.
The fish looked scrumptious, but the chips, oh dear....but then I'm a fan of triple-cooked chips. Utterly crispy and crunchy and silkily soft inside. Pickled eggs are a bit daunting, what with the saturation of vinegar, but were a mainstay of food, as with onions, through many years long-ago of winter. Not sure if anyone has mentioned this before, but the accompanying music is as ever super-good. Robert.
Yess I was waiting for this video!! and omg Im early
That little hoodie head tap gesture was so delightfully awkward!! LOL
Best Fish and Chips so far was at Deckhand Dave's in Juneau, Alaska. Can't wait to try them someday in Scotland.
If you're in Exeter, Devon again, try Krispies in Exmouth for F&C, you'll enjoy.
try Arbroath a few miles up the road from Fife very historic and home to the famous Arbroath Smokie (hot smoked haddock) they are amazingly good
Very nice, you guys are pros at this. Well done. Oh best Fish and Chips, Becks, Carbis Bay, Cornwall.
Such a charming video today, thanks. I'd say the best fish n chips I've had would be at The Magpie in Whitby.
best fish and chips I've ever had is in Hunstanton, in Norfolk England. The batter was so crisp and tasty and the fish is sourced locally. Plus had it whilst sitting on the beach in the sun with my fiance! perfect!!!
There goes Eric again...bashing his shin. Allison how do you take him anywhere SMH lol I think Im the accident prone one between josh and I. I gotta make fun of someone. ;) Thanks Eric. -Ash
Between the constant shin bashing, head hitting and ankle twisting, it's a wonder I survive 😂
I was just about to say Eric is always getting hurt. Eric your lucky you got Alison looking out for you. Love your videos guys
Not to mention burning your mouth, breaking your butt ..... :D BTW - hope you can sit in comfort nowadays.
We sense that Alison may have grown up in a family with brothers based on her comments to Eric's "wounds". Always appropriately briefly sympathetic, but not doting.... 🤦♀️
Best fish and chips i've ever had .... Picton New Zealand ... YUM!!
In Scotland we call it a fish supper .....looked so good
The best fish and chips I ever had were in a tiny little public house/ bed and breakfast in the Orkneys in Kirkwall and also somewhere in John'o groats I don't remember where though
I think this adventure to Britain has been my favorite. Even the Haggis. Lol. And now I’m craving fish and chips!
I was telling a Scots lad I work with about the Haggis Hot Dog it was a new one on him the more he thought about it the more it appealed to him.
Polar Bites in Kirkcudbright in Scotland. Bloody wonderful.
