Another question, but I wonder if I will get an answer. Maybe someone else knows... Yesterday I sent a worksheet to a friend, the method used was the one that forces reciever to create a copy of the file received. But since then, I have edited in that file. If my friend hasn't created a file yet and only does so now, will the file she creates a copy of be the most updated one? Is the file I sent a 'live' version, so if any changes are made to it inbetween sending and creating a copy she will get the latest with changes?
I'm trying to use the new @ tool in google docs to pull in the block that I want (drop down menu, horizontal line, link to another file on Google drive, etc). But when I try to insert a link to another file from our Google Drive, for some reason, it only shows me a VERY short list of files that I can insert. Why can I only insert a file from this very short list? I wondered if it was because I was trying to insert a file that I don't own or hadn't been officially shared with me, but even for files that I created, I can't insert them. Plus, I'm only trying to insert files from our organization's shared Google Drive, so even if the file hasn't been officially shared with me, I still have access to it on the shared drive. I can copy and paste a link to the file into the document, but I thought the whole point of the @ tool was to make things easier to insert and create into a Google Doc.
Hello, just tried sending a google sheet as you suggested promting the reciever to make a copy but this only works on pc. On moble they are not promted to make a copy and if the edit the sheet from their mobile it shows up right away in my document. So... 😓 But nice feature if it worked all over units...
Hi Tasia. I have a question that I would appreciate if you could help me with. I constantly need to make quick and small adjustments to documents (PDF) that are stored in DRIVE. Like changing them from one technician to another. As far as I've seen Google Doc changes all the formatting of the document before I could make a small edit or addition, so it doesn't work. I also have tried Acrobat as an extension but I think that because it is so robust, it takes forever to search for a document saved on the drive, that is if it finds it. Is there any tool or extension that you recommend that I can use quickly from the computer or mobile that allows me to edit quickly?
hey tasia! i love google docs, but find it unbearable on the ipad. i've tried using request desktop site, but it seems either to crash the app or say this browser is no longer supported. ideas????? Shane, clonmel, tipperary, ireland
Great vid! Thanks for sharing! Is there a way to share just a portion of a meeting notes to someone, say their action items & get notified when they complete their action items ?
Re Substitutions - is it possible to automatically insert in title case? eg converting spvh to Swaffham Prior Village Hall. Also, I would love a video that looks at more of the ways of modifying the url that you share with others.
Sorry for all the pain and suffering I have caused those who were offended by my wreckless use of the use of he and she. I will use only generic terms from this day forward. Sorry! I am surprised inclusive terms are not automatic and offensive terms are excluded in all documents, I assume this will be the rule in 2025. This will provide protection for those of us who may make a mistake and this may save our jobs.
Hey friends! Here are the best Google Docs features for 2022. What are your faves? Leave a comment below.
I love Google's Citation feature. It's an easy way to use MLA format.
So much information just to update my resume and add my latest job. Gonna watch again to see how. Great video!
Why did the substitution appear in capitals when you typed it in lower case in the dialogue box? Julia

I would use Find, Replace with features to do that for entire document (replace all)
I am struggling with sharing my docs. I will have to take a separate class or course on this.
Would be great if you can create a course on Google Workspace which we could deploy to our new joiners as our org is 100% on G Workspace
Great 👍
Thanks
Force a copy is just amazing, thanks for it, Tasia
And BTW, Inclusive Language feature isn't working for me too still, I am free user
Isn’t that url trick awesome? What a bummer about the inclusive language feature! Hopefully they expand it to all users. Thanks for commenting!

Very intresting madam
Who confuses Google Docs with Google Drive 🤔
In my free version “Chairman” offers no other choices at least in iOS.
I read that Google are stopping there free version.
Would be awesome if you could create a course on Google Drive. It will be very helpful for our new joiners as we are 100% on Google Workspace
I’m working on one. For now, check out my Google Drive tutorial video on my Channel!
The best google doc feature is the lag and not syncing changes.
Makes work so much fucking fun.
I'd say its aids software but that's unfair to aids.
Pas mal la vidéo mais je n'utilise pas les produits Google/CIA
I can not search in web anymore
Gender neutral? I feel old right now. I would never use that feature. It's ridiculous.
Yeah - you might be old, then.
good
Google please add dark mode.
Love you lovely mem
