    What paint did you use? And what settings?

      I use Dry Moly Lube a the coating.. 2 coats. Then 7mm/sec and 100% power on my 10watt laser.

    Im so confused why does it need to be painted to be engraved

      Because you aren't actually engraving. You are marking/etching the glass. Don't ask me about the chemical reaction or how it work, it just does :)

      Because lasers go right through glass. The paint keeps the reaction/heat of the laser on the glass surface to create the etch effect
