My situation, little different .
I am 72, been in the process of marriage.....very soon I will have been talking, seeing, doing, for 2 years.
She speaks great English, very informed, met all her family, she is 20 years younger......seemingly no issue, and 2nd trip to hometown, soon .
I have no friends here, yet, so not sure about that.........my concern: sometimes she speaks to others about me and they look and smile,

Expecting a different experience to dating in western countries is a mistake in the big cities in vietnam, sure , they are different but it pretty much ends up being a very similar situation to dating in the west, most girls are just playing the field, are really active on instagram and are just after the best option , most money they can con you out of, dating in smaller cities and towns is a much better situation, met some really nice, genuine girls outside the big centres, rule of thumb is if they wear makeup , they are going to be westernised ....

If they are in the South (even from the North) chances are they have thrown off their family being in their face.
Does more conservative mean angry, hahaaha then i will agree, south seems so happy but wherever they are from still can mean great psrtners and the families from the North will still accept you and chances are the fathers will embracr you, spewking from experience so dont be scared or stressed about that.

Thats the problem with Saigon is ypu just live in district 1 which is english only speaking. They dont care about you and dont care you speak viet.
If you come to live and stay in Vietnam be open to trying another city where they will live it if you speak their language

There are many really nice normal girls in Vietnam, it's true. Just don't be in a hurry to make mistakes.
F+B is right, but also look at Badoo etc, also Vietnamese or English clubs where you can gauge their English skills and converse with them.
There are a lot of social opportunities in Vietnam, get out there.
