good performance, if it a bit slow. Listen to the Dale Warland Singers do this piece (search on UA-cam) before you decide which is your favorite rendition though.
Absolutely gorgeous. This was a piece that caught me heart in the first few seconds when I first heard it, and has never let go. Thank you for this rendition, so full of aural warmth and wonder. Thanks also for the amazing video and audio quality, and for showing us the faces and passion of the singers and choir director. With great love and respect~ ❤❤❤
Agreed. I've been coming back to this song for 15 years. I don't even know or care what the words mean, it's just so beautiful. Resets my state of mind every time.
I cry every single time I hear this song. Breathtaking. One of my favorites to hear and sing. The complex harmonies. Divine. Especially the minor note at the”Virgo”.
Breathtaking piece. I was so fortunate as to perform it years ago with my wonderful college concert choir, and it is the sort of piece that seeps into your soul. I haven't sung it for about 25 years, and hopped right in like muscle memory. Images of past tours and concerts flooded my memory. Thank you for this.
Things happen for a reason. I'm familiar with this beautiful work but haven't heard for some time. Just popped up in an email at a time when I REALLY need the reminder about God's mysterious ways. This is indeed a beautiful rendition, at just the right time!
Exquisite! Superb balance, even though this piece tends to favor the soprano range. Love to see the singers fully engaged in this soulful piece. Thank you for sharing.
Beata Virgo, cujus viscera meruerunt portare Dominum Iesum Christum. Alleluia! O great mystery, and wonderful sacrament, that animals should see the newborn Lord, lying in a manger! Blessed is the virgin whose womb was worthy to bear the Lord, Jesus Christ. Alleluia!
I am a member of the Carolina Concert Choir and our director was a student of Morton Lauridsen. He told us that he said his inspiration for this piece came from seeing a very moving piece of art in an art gallery in LA California. The painting appeared to be floating. He wanted to write a piece that floated like the painting. I would have to say that he was very successful.
In my mind, this is the definitive performance of this magnificent work. I'm so glad I found this video.
Thank you very much!

I first heard this on the Sunday following 9/11 and have listened to it every anniversary of that tragedy. Magnificent performance.
Beautiful. Moving.
Beautiful performance, sung from the heart, of a hauntingly magical piece.
Thank you 🥰
We performed this in the 1994-5 school year at Wayne State University. Have loved it. Your version is wonderful.

It really does sound like it's floating 🤩

Leute, schreibt doch wenigstens den Namen des Komponisten richtig 😂
Liebe Frau Borbonus, vielen Dank für den Hinweis. Wir werden die Tippfehler korrigieren.
Halsey could beat a little bit more reduced. Choir sings nice.
the choir could take less obvious breaths. there is a way to breath in silently
