    I don't always comment, but for me, this is one of the best channels on UA-cam. Superb. No bullsh*t, just amazing camps and scenery. Good to see your winter kit. Cheers Andy. ATB

      Yep, it’s one of my favourites, he always does a lovely walk, then camp and gorgeous photographs. I love hearing about all the different locations and descriptions of the surroundings. Wish I had such an in-depth knowledge of the hillsides 😃

    1 of the best channels on UA-cam. It's nice to see a great blend of hiking and photography from someone who is genuinely down to earth and doesn't do these stupid stunts like trying to wild camp in dangerous storms. The kit you've collected is very impressive and has definitely given me some ideas to think about with regards to my winter kit.

    Grinah Stones is my favourite location on Bleaklow. I camped in the same exact spot earlier this year in rather warmer weather than you had.
    We came close to possibly meeting up recently. As you were camping on the Woolpacks I was pitched up at Madwoman's Stones. Good evening sir I also agree with the excellence of this extraordinary channel. This mountain hike and camp was extraordinary in scenery. Do you wear thermals under those down pants?

    Good stuff, Andy 👌 I've been off the Tube for a bit and glad to have watched this one mate, great shooting of a nice little trip and I like the setup you've got now, that mic makes a big diffference. Also, its always good to see the kit others use 😃 Especially in light of my own recent purchases for winter camping. Some nice kit you've got there and the extra weight is worth the comfort ay? There's always a trade-off, and unless you've had the joy of experiecing such camps, many will never know the satisfaction in proportion to the effort and 'challenge' of it. I'm looking forward to seeing just how comfortable I will be in my lighter weight kit in equally low temps.
    Need to get my butt out of the house first though! And this Vlog has helped tremendously, Sir!
    ATB,
    Elton.

      cheers Elton ayy the weight to comfort debate is always an interesting conversation ain't it lol..i have lightened a lot of my gear up but as iv'e always said im happy to carry what i need to make it comfotable & enjoyable..ill be using the cumulas quilt with the alpkit kloke instead of the skyhigh bag as much as i can over winter so im saving there..plus ive just bought the MLD duomid which is saving me a lot too..hope you get to enjoy some winter camps mate tfw.Andy.

    Great to see what gear you use Andy, keeping it real and using good local Yorkshire brands I see. 👍 Just one question, what do you sleep in, do you keep the pants, down socks on and what do you wear on't top half?

    • @AndrewBeavers
      @AndrewBeavers  3 роки тому +1

      my thermals are the rab nucleus grid back fleece type..i typically take the down pants off but leave the hotsocks on for sleeping in & sometimes depending on how cold it is ill keep the hooded merino top on tfw.

    I’m not much of a winter camper tbh, but it’s great to see how it’s done properly and what kit makes it bearable. ⛺️

      thanks gordon main reason for taking bag on this one was just to show my full winter set up,ill switch back to quilt & see how i get on with it now the temps are dropping.the down pants sure can help with those ratings tfw.

    Just loved that, especially all the short clips in the sequence from about 16.50 to 22 mins. Good to see your winter kit as well. If you are out in the next week there is a comet (leonard) about, near the star Arcturus (the handle of the plough points to it). It will probs not be naked eye but you might get it with your Canon and a fast lens and a longish exposure. Anyway thanks for making this. ATB Phil

    Interesting one for me. I’ve been down that road a few times to see what images I can take. At the end of the road, where you cross over the little wooden bridge, there have been a lot of people logging. I always feel that I need to keep out of their way, for safety reasons, so I’ve never ventured further than the wooden bridge. So it was interesting to see what was there. You made no mention of any logging & I didn’t see any in your video, so maybe they have moved on? Really enjoyed the video Andrew. Good to see you are fit and back out there 👍 Take care. Regards Robert.
