I have used layer on layer of small pattern texture to create a watery look. It looks very similar to brush work if you keep on layering.

Quick question: would it be correct to call it texture, after stenciling? Isn't texture the feel of a surface (rough, smooth)? I would've thought it would be called a 'print' or a 'pattern'.
Do correct me if I'm wrong. 🙂

Texture can also be considered visually in addition to physically. Layers in artwork can be thought of as texture. 🌸
