I'm not familiar with him or his interviews, but I felt like he almost wasn't listening half of the time and would ask questions she'd just answered or talked about. That was a little irritating, especially because she was so passionate about her answers.

When she hit the scene she was very vibrant and unique. She was so different and naturally beautiful. I loved everything about her. This is so real. One thing I have always loved and noticed about Kelis is that despite her separation from Nas you NEVER heard her speak ill of him in the media. I always thought it was because she still loved him and secretly wanted to be back with him, but after this interview it is very clear that she was dealing with a lot of pain. Even in this interview you can see her reliving some of those moments. She is a superstar and I'm so inspired by the strength she displayed during this interview.

Jason Lee- "Why were you so silent?"
Kelis-"In all honestly, I was afraid to because of my faith and belief in God, and my Creator, I know that I could never fight him as ruthlessly as he would fight me." I believe many women who have been in a bad relationship and who genuinely have a heart for God can relate to her answer. This also reveals her level of integrity because you have to stoop real low to fight the devil on his terms.

So many of us women deal w/ this, when dealing w/ the fathers of our child(ren). I know she’s STILL holding so much back in an effort to not destroy his image or the way ppl perceive him. I too thought SHE was the issue & bitter, & now I feel bad for not giving her a chance. I’m glad I watched this interview, although I initially rolled my eyes when I seen the title. both men were abused by their women that's why Kelis use to hit Nas and that's how the crap started just like Fab. It's sad how men can be painted in a bad light because it's not cool to say a woman abuses you.

I felt this... I feel this. Everything she mentioned resonated with me so much, I started saying "he's a narcissist!" repeatedly. I know the signs now and unfortunately my child's father is 1 too. This brought me to tears because I've been through so much of that toxic behavior and as an empath, we are the supply for them. I just so happend to finally watch this not realizing until after, it's been posted a year ago. As I watched, I looked at the clock and it was 111 🙌🏽💚👑 Angel's are always here to remind us they are here to protect us light beings. Keep vibrating high 😇, cuz when you vibrate low 👹they win. Kelis 🙌🏽🤗😘💚👑

I hear you. I always thought he was a narc abuser. If a man is banned from the delivery he's done something pretty bad. She won't say it but he abused her and then discarded her and that child. She came out of it and I'm proud of her as a Mother and artist.

  • @sweetma4life

She kept her mouth shut for years and decided to speak out now because she CAN! Narcissism is all around us... most people are just blind to it! Just because he is Nas... does not mean he is GOD! Yes I love him as an artist but I don't know him as a person so I won't follow the flock of sheep that say she is lying.

sweetma4life your right and I'm glad that you mentioned that you are an Nas Fan because people dont know the difference between a Fan who can love the artist and his art , but still call him out on his bullshit and a stan who stands with the Artist regardless of what they done
And I as an Fan of nas definatly know where you come from with that and the most of the people who say that kelis lies just because its nas are definatly stans

I just watched this interview for the first time. I know, I know I'm late.
I have ALWAYS admired Kelis. To me, Kelis and Nas were hip-hop royalty. I was so GEEKED when they were married, and totally DISAPPOINTED when they divorced. I dont know Nas or Kelis personally, so I won't judge or take sides. I wish Kelis the best in life. I applaud her for taking the high road. Hopefully, Kelis and Nas will get to a better place. At least for their sons sake.
Thank you Jason Lee for this interview.

@Layne G Yup. This me too movement is getting out of hand right now. Any of them will say it now just to assassinate a person's character out of hate. Kelis loses to nas in court and all of a sudden the abuse allegations are brought up 10 YEARS LATER. Why not bring this up after the divorce??.....lol
