Awesome episode👍👍 Your knowledge on handle shaping, fit and finish is invaluable. The information on oversizing the pin hole on the tang alone would save a novice/ hobbyists like me hours of frustration! Thanks again all.
Looking good! I'm diggin' the coffin handle with the two domed silver pins, it'll be neat to see it all come together. I'm definitely curious to see how you attach those silver "pins" , as I'm not quite clear on how you explained it. Do you drill a 1/16" hole in the middle of them and then slide the pin stock through the silver dome and then peen then pin stock onto the silver, then sand them together to blend them to look like one smooth domed pin and then polish, or am I thinking like a crazy person right now? Lol. That all I could think of when you mentioned them being like washers. I love the aluminum insert trick as well, that will definitely save some headaches as well as help to keep the drill bit from burning pin "halos" in the handle material. Thanks for sharing and take care :)
That ivory in an unfinished state looks almost like plywood. Never judge a book by its cover i guess especially if that book is made of ivory. I just tried to blow the dust off of the ivory when you were drilling it... well I guess you could say I was sucked into the video.
@@KyleRoyerKnives hey kyle, found your channelthrough slavek tely who spoke very highly of you. And he should. Your work is insane. Just had a quick question. When your working to 1000s th of an inch, can the heat from your hand cause the metal to expand? Sorry if its a silly question but was just interested what you have to overcome to be so precise in what you make.

Glad we could help!
Great video! I really enjoy seeing the amount of attention you give to every detail of the build.
Ah! The good old “not-so-auto-CAD” my favorite design program
I need to learn CAD.
Well curated. thankyou

Yes, exactly how you explained it. Hopefully, we'll do a dogbone bowie at some point and get it all on video!
You could do silver pins and use liver of sulfur to turn it black
I've heard of that but havn't tried it, have you?

You need to link your youtube in your Instagram more, especially in your bio.
Very good idea. I just add it in my bio. Thanks Adrian

Nice videos. What epoxy do you use with the vaseline set the handle in to remove it? Thanks
I used 30 minute epoxy, sometimes |'ll use West System Epoxy as well.
@@KyleRoyerKnives do you do your final glue up with accraglas?
