Fun stuff. I got the Discmania set because it was 9 dollars at mt shop and an old co worker wanted to try disc golf, i looked up the discs and they did seem a little stable for what you normally see in a starter pack.

my school disc golf club gives that exact disc mania starter set as a loaner to new people with no disc. i played with that for a week before getting that exact dynamic disc starter pack😅. (i absolutely love the dynamic disc starter pack over the disc mania kit)

Cool video. I throw the truth in fusion and escape in lucid plastic. An idea for a new pack would be the Streamline discs starter set. They make some good discs.

Thanks! I was actually leaning towards Streamline because I’ve heard good things about them but never thrown any of their stuff. I might just have to make that happen for the next video.

Thank you for the video I’m glad you came out this with a fun attitude! Comparing these two sets also means comparing the two players. Next time it might’ve been good to have each player use one set and then do the another round swapping the sets. Why I’m saying that is the two sets are completely different. She had the Dynamic set is “a great value and feature some of Dynamics Discs most popular offerings for Beginners in Prime Burst plastic. Discs are in the 165g-177g range”. With an award winner putter (2401), Overstable Five speed mid and an Overstable nine speed driver.
He had Discmania beginning set “Discmania's Active line consists of products designed to offer an easy entry to the world of disc golf for beginners. Despite the beginner friendly price point and design, these discs have a lot to offer for all skill levels.
This 150 class set includes a putter, a midrange disc and a driver, all designed for wide variety of skill levels starting from beginners.” With a three speed putter, four-speed mid, and six speed driver. All of them at 150 g which are much harder to dial back on if you are used to heavier discs.
I’ve use the judge putter it’s excellent. But I prefer the sensei because it’s very very versatile. And you can get it in a harder/heavier plastic than in this beginner 150 set of soft plastic discs. Their soft is also very good but just included in the beginning set. Comparing the two drivers is not really fair is there is a six and a nine speeds.
In summary both sets or fantastic for what they are for.
Their weights make the two sets completely different. But very useful if somebody has a stronger arm maybe try the heavier set at about $23. But if somebody’s younger or has a small hand or loves light discs is great for an average cost of $15. Somebody with a very light arm will get better use out of the lighter discs. You might graduate out of it faster but you’ll be less frustrated at the start
For me I like both sets. Own all these discs. While I do not use the escape, didn’t really like it when I played with it. I’ve used and bagged all of the other five discs. And truly believe that these two putters are some of the best in the game.
Thanks again for the video and the fun hope you didn’t mind my comments

Prior to Disc Golf I was playing catch with frisbee, regulary for sevral years. Right now Maestro in Active Soft plastic is my favorite midrange/approach disc and it's allowing me to use what I've learned throwing frisbee.

As a beginner transitioning from ultimate, that DD set looks great, just ordered one. Hoping unorthodox throws from ultimate might be able to overcome the small versatility issue you mentioned, but can always add another disc if/when needed

I got a Magician when I first started and hated it from the first throw. For a beginner it's a massively over stable brick that just falls out of the air. It's like discouragement in plastic. I had an Innova starter pack but never got comfortable with those discs in my hand. Then I bought some Latitude 64 "Easy to Throw" discs: Ruby, Pearl and Diamond and fell in love with disc golf. Those discs should be in every beginner's hands.

There's nothing better than finding those discs that just work perfectly for you! We definitely need to give those latitude 64 discs a try!

@@acerundiscgolf Just a warning, they are true beginner discs - light and flippy once your speed is up.

I just purchased the Dynamic Beginner kit. I never played but I also got a small little purple desk. That came in the bundle. What’s that for?

They both do forearms and backhands they know the terminology etc. They are having fun with discs they’ve never thrown before. And they bother to enough to teach us some things using new disks sets without claiming they are pros. It’s clear that they’ve been playing for a while that doesn’t mean they have to be the best to give us useful videos. In other words be nice and a little less ego.

But it's kinda strange that she throws undertaker like disc with ton of flex and is surprised that it's not stable
