To be completely honest I own NO DD discs, but absolutely love your youtube content. It is so thorough and makes me appreciate your company so much... in my near 20 years of disc golf I've invested heavily into innova products and really love my discs, but if I have the chance to come across any DD. I will more than likely pick some up. Keep up the great content!!!
If you end up getting a DD disc I recommend an Emac Truth in Lucid at 176-179g 👌

Escape is my favorite DD disc. I always have a few with me. The Truths are pretty legit, but I’m a Roc guy.
@@jeffdejaynes7231 I was a Roc guy for almost 15 years and then a friend gave me his Buzzz (the only discraft disc I own) and I have loved it since.
I have found that DD molds are really consistent that’s why 90% of my bag is DD the other %10 is innava.

Gotta say most underrated hyzer flip forehand disc is the prime EMac Truth. It’s pretty awesome.
My sister found a pretty beat Prime Truth out on the course and it's her absolute go to forehand disc
Im slightly buying more and more dynamic discs because they make the best discs and bags and i just bought the paratrooprr bag and my go-to discs is lucid truth ( absolutely favorite discs) and im going to sell all discmania and those and buy more dynamic discs. Great contens guys!

My bag is about 90% Discmania... but the Bio Fuzion Criminal (I bag 2 of them) is easily the most thrown disc in my bag. It is my ultimate utility/get out of jail free disc. Ive thrown a couple moonshine, lucid, and putted with a classic soft warden for a long time. Still, Bio Fuzion is my favorite DD plastic by far. Highly suggest the bio fuzion criminal to all

Thank you, newb starting out and asked in the Dynamic Discs Squad group and someone pointed me to here. Thank you, I was wondering why my starter disks were so beat up after one use (besides me hitting trees and every rock on the course) and why my Opto's and other seemed to fair much better. In short, I bought a lot of "trial disks" when I should have just used that money to buy better ones :) haha Thanks for this, easy to understand.

I think every manufacture needs to do this. Or better yet, all manufactures do this together, and explain the similarities of their plastics, and differences in their plastics over the other companies.
My fav driver is the Escape in Lucid plastic. It's hit many trees and still flys great

Seeing as I'm not pro level, I tend not to get the performance or rated flight characteristics out of my discs.
Understanding the intended characteristics of the various plastics will help me when choosing a disc.
Honestly, my most important factor when buying a disc is color. If it isn't a bright orange or neon yellow, I am literally just throwing my money away. Whenever I see a transparent or translucent disc, I laugh. Who would buy that!
Beyond actually losing a disc, is all the time spent looking for a disc. We call it "that other game." As in, "We would have finished sooner, but we spent too much time playing that other game!"
I suspect a lot of people are like me.

Lucid Convict for forehand and Lucid Getaway for backhand. Both beatup and able to hyzerflip nicely
Biofuzion is also one of my favorite plastics also. I LOVE the Sheriff and Defender in Biofuzion plastic! Such an underrated plastic and underproduced. For putting I am 100% in the Classic/BT Hard camp. I do like the options of Lucid-X lately but I feel like this has taken away from base premium plastic production time and has lead to a lot of these sitting around while people are waiting for restocks on the same mold in Lucid or Biofuzion. One thing I appreciated about Paige Pierce when she was with DD is she would frequently recommend discs in Biofuzion or base premium plastics over the Lucid-X counterparts. Her name was on quite a few of these and it spoke to the sound advice she would give for recommending discs.
I wish that all discs came in Lucid-X and Bio Fuzion! It's great to gain familiarity with a mold and have a stable version, straight version, and understable version of the same mold!
For example, my Lucid-X Trespass is a great wind fighting driver, my Lucid and Fuzion is great for dead-wind/cross-wind distance shots, and my Bio Fuzion is great for tailwind and hyzer flip drives.
I like my slower speed drivers in the Lucid-X Plastic as it helps me control them a bit more with that added stability.
I also like the Lucid-X for my understable drivers. Gets me a more controlled turn but still has some decent fade due to the extra stability.

Fluid plastic is best plastic. All the durability and stability of LucidX, but with the feel of classic blend.

My favorite disc is the Lucid X Chameleon Verdict. A disc I would love seeing released is the Lucid X for the Marshal
I throw a ton of Lucid plastic and I love it. Trying to get a driver in some Fuzion plastic soon though.

Biofusion and Lucid X. Oooh yeah baby.
Putters need a lot more grip, at least the option. With my awesome grippy Penrose base plastic, not only do they rarely see the 3rd row of chains or blast all the way through, but the grip will stop the putter on top of the basket and side bucket or band misses are considerably closer, and a lot of the time, it will never even fall from chains to settle in bucket. Penrose grip is also grippy in the cold weather, which is very rare. I hope DD considers extreme insane awesome grip in their putters one day. I am dumping my innova bag to support DD, everything but the putter for now.

My Fuzion is slightly less HSS than my Lucids. Little easier to get some turn out of. They fly pretty true to their numbers in my opinion.

I recently started throwing your brand. I absolutely love the Judge. I use it for putting ang throwing. I want to try a fairway and distance driver but I'm not sure which plastic. My favorite is the GStar from Innova. Unless I'm throwing mids. I like champion and dx for those. I saw 5 years back you offered a "fluid plastic". Is that no longer available?
I would like to see a swan reborn in VIP or in something more stable. That way my putting putter can be the same as my throwing putter
I was really hoping to see a grip rating and an answer to "Why?" these plastics change the stability. For example with Lucid-X, is that plastic more stable because it pulls on the inside of the rim and causes a change in the shape of the mold after it has been removed from the press? I was also hoping to see you talk about what effect the nicks on discs really have on the way they fly. This feels like a summary video, and was surely helpful in getting rid of the confusion for newer players, but as a more intermediate player I'm left wanting a deeper dissection of each of the plastics to know why they have the effects that you explained.
I have a video on my personal channel that might help with why discs fly the way they do but there are some things wrong with it.

Hey Danny, is there a chart showing which plastic blend names go together between the trilogy disc brands? That might be helpful for people to realize their Opto Air plastic is just Lucid Air plastic, under a different name(if that’s the case).

Aside from Stableness, do the different plastics affect Glide? I could swear my discs in Opto has just slightly more glide than my Zero ones.

great insight, especially since i can compare with some of the latitude plastics i have. However first you say that one plastic tends to come out a little bit more domey and overstable, then at the end you say another platic comes out flat topped and overstable? Does the stability not relate to the dominess? In any case I have a stupidly overstable doombird that i use as a utility disc and it’s very flat.
Postermaestro depends on the mold. Sometimes the flat to puddle tops are more OS on some molds. Sometimes it’s the domey ones.

I have a question for DD, i have thrown innova for a long time but got tired of the inconsistency on runs of discs i like so i figured id try DD instead, but i have noticed that my fuzion defender beat in way way faster than my star destroyer did despite starting out about the same stability wise my defender is now flippy (6 months old) and my destroyer is about 2 years old and still has stability, is this normal or did i end up with a ”bad run”?
PoF 5.02. Eric was not throwing the Air discs significantly faster (3%?). It's not the additional velocity. Assume an Air driver and a Lucid driver come out of the mold with the identical shape even though they don't. When they fly with the same velocity they will generate the identical aerodynamic LIFT. What changes is how the disc reacts to that generally "upward" force. Greatly simplified, a lighter disc experiences more time where the Lift - Weight = greater than zero. (Glide?) But, since discs spin, any of that lift that isn't pushing near the center of the flight plate results in the disc tilting. And, with less mass, the Air disc is more influenced by any force it sees. Hence more "squirrelly" in calm and wind. (Oh, and why a Blizzard Boss thrown 60ft in the air with a 50mph tailwind goes really far. 🤦🏻♂️)
BTW, Air discs are also easier on your arm when throwing forehands and when, like me, you are getting older.
I actually like the lucid air for my backhand for the same thing you said about your forehand. I use more wrist than arm for forehand so it doesn't hurt to throw it as much. But have a bad shoulder so my backhands tend to hurt after 4 long distance drives or so
Is Fuzion-X even a real thing? Never come across that in Europe, are they available from Latitude 64?
