After watching a few chaotic Bodanza videos, this is a nice bit of tranquility and I appreciate watching a veteran of the youtubes. Excited for this Vlogmas.

I bought this for my nephew and after seeing the way the discs warped halfway through his first ever round I felt guilty and then gave him a bunch of my own discs.
if he's a fan of a mold from them, the premium plastic is a pretty stiff champion type that holds up better
I found a magician at my local park & my goodness it was MANGLED.
Called the guy on the back and when he picked it up, he was telling me how new it was…. I felt bad for the disc 😂

Some of the tournaments I have the most fun at and it seems everyone has more fun than usual at are the supplied disc tournaments. A disc company supplies 3 or 4 random discs and you play with just those. Loved this video!! I'm so looking forward to your other videos.
Agreed! The most fun I’ve ever had was at an MVP Space Race tourney at night with the glow plastic. MVP Circuit Event Challenges and Trilogy Challenges just have that nice relaxed atmosphere about them, that I love in disc golf! It’s all about enjoying the game and the moment. Cheers!
This set is the sweet point of price+quality that makes it easy to keep one in my trunk to give to someone who wants to try disc golf. I gave 3 away this year.
The Sensei was a great putter for me for quite a while. Cannot wait to see where things go from here!

I was given a Sensei last year for Christmas. I don’t always bag it, but I love it for my straight up shots. Yesterday I played 9 holes using just the Sensei and a Harp. (You’re correct about playing with just a putter -if you do well it’s great and if you don’t, that’s okay too. They are just putters.) Love the product placement / Easter Eggs. Looking forward to the next 3.5 weeks.

RPM starter set is really good if you doing some reviews or challenges with starter sets. Nice plastics and cover nice range of shot shapes.

A good beginner set should have a disk that will go straight for you that will fade for you turn for you. As I think about it it might be a good idea just to get 3 discs at 4/5 speeds that will go straight, fade and turn for you😄

Yay VLogmas! I don't know what all you have planned, but as a newer player, I'd love to see a video about how different types of plastic change things. I get that they are more expensive and feel different, but why are these base plastics "starter sets"? Or how does a disc fly differently if it's not torque resistant? (Or maybe you already have one on these topics and my searching was bad.)

The best starter pack I've had is the dynamic discs set.

Sensei is a sneaky stable putter. Got a group of friends we occasionally play a sensei round with at a local pitch and putt course and it’s a good time.
The Discmania active premium line is really good but the massive flaw in them is consistency. I have a Majesty that is the straightest disc I have ever thrown and another one that is so stable not even MPO players in my area can throw it. I think it’s because they’re made in China so there isn’t much quality control.
I started with Genius, maestro, Sensei in active plastic I do miss the simple times :p also alot lighter bag XD
For vlogmas we need just a good ol fashioned scored round at Inverness blue
Absolutely love the content man I bought my little man and nephew each a set it was only 13 euros and they are both 9 so I think they are great starter set to see if you really wanna invest in the sport. Cheers
Started out with the L64 SPZ and the Lightweight Active Soft of this set (Yellow Sensei, Light pink Maestro, White Magician). The Magician were the first disc I did a controlled hyzer-flip with, but it were sneaky stable for quite some treehits even in the Active Soft 157g. The Maestro never felt good in the light weight, first disc I used and by mistake melted a bit trying to modify the dome of a disc, had bought a puddle-top used Opto Ballista that just needed its dome back before looking normal. Pretty good sacrifice to learn being careful. I really want to try it in Active Premium some day.
The Sensei 148g is one of the 5 putters I have put in my training basket that is in a "common room" at work, really want the colleagues to get hooked on discgolf by slow manipulation...
Got me 2 Pink Magicians earlier this year that I threw for form practice a while, a friend got them with my Diamond as some of his first discs. The Magician a good tweener that can replace all fairway drivers and midranges by having just this mold in different plastics and wear, it can get to 350' unless in a massive headwind ^_^
Sensei you should try out a bit more, I'm using it a lot on FH. In situations where I want a hyzerflip, but I don't want more than 50-60m I throw Sensei. If I want more like 70-80m I can still use Sensei, but often end up with a Jawbreaker Zone instead. It's torque resistant and I don't get much wobble on it. I love it in the base plastic.
4:20 have you ever considered using a crystal flex zone for those types of upshots? Lately I've been throwing flicks at about a 45 degree anhyzer angle, and allowing her to flip flat & hover down.
I honestly haven’t tried it with an OS approach alot. I’ll have to mess around wirh it!

I work for the YMCA and bought three of these starter sets. They have a different stamp than the ones that you’re throwing today. Perhaps a different run?
The starter set ones did not last long at all. When I bought the molds individually in the base plastic though I noticed a considerable difference. (they look like the ones you’re throwing in this video.) discs are still going strong a year and a half later after lots of abuse.
The OG base set is active soft, these were just active line base! Little bit of a difference for sure!

I’m a Discmania junkie, and unfortunately the Maestro… let’s just say it’s 💩 I knew it would fly the way it did in your video. It flips pretty bad fore, but wants to stay so overstable backhand. Plus I fell in love with the Magician. Straightest disc ever 🤩
A beginner set should have discs that are more likely to turn and fade at the end then just fade. I think you hit it with a beginner disk set for an intermediate player wich is an oxymoron

That looks like a great starter set. One of my friends started with the Innova set and while okay for just something to get you out on the course it is blah at best.
Naturally starting Vlogmas on new video day has to be so satisfying.

My son won the box at a tournament. Its a cool set. The Magician bombs. Its too bad the plastic is worse than DX.
I loved it! Not sure how they hold up long term, but in the short term they were really good!

Forehand and those starter sets are non existent. If you have any athletic ability those light weight sets I found painful. Torque resistance is something you are going to find out in a hurry in this game. Entertaining video as always.
If this set has discs that are over stable for you this is not a good beginner set for most people.
