Cant believe there was no filming of the ground or peoples feet in this video !! things are really looking up ! Good job ! Ya got to have someone go around to all the trucks and clean the darn windshields !!
Love the sound of a cat engine, there pretty much bullet proof, if Bruce Wilson can use one for a pull truck with a massive turbo, insane cam and pushed to the limit and it still survives then you should be fine.
I just retired two 2000 FLD's with 10-speeds and ISM's because a lot of the stuff we needed was discontinued. Being corporate, I don't have the luxury of buying anywhere but where allowed to get parts. It's frustrating. You will probably have better luck being you can get good used parts and aftermarket. The drivers didn't want to drive those old trucks anyway, they want the newer Cascadia's and most wanted automated-manuals.
You could not pay me enough as a driver to row them gears, but as an owner operator you could not pay me enough to take it offy hands, so crappy, so beautiful, definitely going to be a love hate relationship with the old FLD
It’s an oil reservoir for carrying extra oil. While on the road if you oil when low just flip that leaver to put a gallon of in the engine. Back in the most fleets Would outfit there with reservoirs.
The reason that propane is on there is that they mixed it in the injectors for better fuel mileage. At least, that's what I was told by an old timer that had it on his truck
The reason why it shifts so smooth is because it's not a worn-out pile of crap yet. "Everything looks good with the exhaust" and a wire loom is sitting right on the exhaust.
Hey Tim and Braxton are you doing today my like watching your UA-cam videos and they are very educated and I like the content in the videos and I like the way you explain things to your viewers in marry Christmas to and your family
OEM Style aero chrome bumper or just a lower one to match the lower side skirts and upgrade headlights to the single housing lens and I agree paint the fenders she’ll be the cat’s meow than. In 99 I train in a new one and after my first truck was a low mileage FLD white with blue interior 60 series 355 rears best truck ever
It's that panel where all the fuse box is that on the floor it's not tied you need to make it tighter and we'll put all that noise that panel in the floor by the dash in the middle of the seat
What is it with revving every truck up in the lot and taking off?? Shifts them all like a cowboy too! Slow down a little, it's not a contest to see how fast you can shift the gears
Tim NO Disrespect BUT No way is that a Better Truck than ROSTER that Truck doesn't even come close to Roster. Wait until whenever You decide to Paint Roster and install New Parts Roster will Shine over anything out there.
ust a few nit pick things to fix and that will be a damn nice truck to drive if you can i think i would put new glass in the windshield i wander if the owner has that gas on for a grill to cook on crazy idea but never know
The biggest advantage is no ELD's. Anything pre-2000 is exempt because the ECM's can't communicate with the new technology. The next advantage is maintenance costs, DEF is a bottomless money pit. It's why CAT stopped making engines for commercial vehicles. Lastly, older engines, without all the emission controls, have more power and torque. Surprisingly, MPG has barley improved over the last 24 years.
First thing First find that rattle in the cab 😅.
As for the damages, a good portion of that, i.e. bellhousings, STOP LETTING YOUR DRIVER BEAT IT UP. Its from shock loading the drivetrain most likely
You got lucky on that FLD the truck seems to be in really good shape way to go Tim
Enjoyed this. This Took me Back to My Childhood Days With My Dad and His Freightliner. I'm Inspired. ThankYou#Gentry&SonsTrucking
Oil reserve reservoir..my internationally 9400 has one on it.. it comes in handy when you out of oil
Cant believe there was no filming of the ground or peoples feet in this video !! things are really looking up ! Good job ! Ya got to have someone go around to all the trucks and clean the darn windshields !!
nice n quiet ,no rattles
This should be an awesome video on the FLD. The old reliable trucks are your guarantee! Thank you for your consistency in video content.
❤❤❤go ahead and say it Tim you wanna turn it up!!
That man would be so happy to see it on the road again Tim
Little TLC and you got a beautiful truck
That FLD sounds amazing
I put over a million miles in a 1998 Freightliner FLD-120 Detroit Series 60 with a 10-speed.
Those trucks are workhorses.
That truck is one of the best for trucking
First thing you have to fix is that rattle when you take off and slow down... sounds like a qualcom rattling against the dash.....
You mean a “Quailcom” lol 😅
@TimHollis3006 I honestly didn't remember an i being in the spelling...
@@tracymiller1881 it’s not, Tim calls it a Quailcom like the bird but it’s a Qualcom like you spelled
You got that old Eagle along with that day cab Mack on that trade
Love the turbo whistle
I miss that sound, and the acoustics in an old fld, are unforgettable
First truck i ever drove was a Fld,I loved it.
I have a 92 FLD 120, N14 i plan on a classic hood and a pounding on lots of miles, beautiful trucks to drive, they just work
While 379s are nice I love the older 357s and KW 900A
Best truck I ever had was an 06 94oo (not an eagle) Cummins, plain to the Jane (not sexy at all, but very reliable 😊
rooster is my favorite but i love the fld
That rattle would drive you crazy it needs fixing before something falls out
Sweet FLD.
Good evening, yall beautiful day
Love the sound of a cat engine, there pretty much bullet proof, if Bruce Wilson can use one for a pull truck with a massive turbo, insane cam and pushed to the limit and it still survives then you should be fine.
Loos fender mirror on Passenger side Tim that's what the noise is I can see it moving in the video.
Lol I was waiting for him to say it was going to be a show truck and their it is
Turbos are definitely strong.
Nice truck.
Them old trucks was made better back in the years Tim my uncle drove truck I was his detailing person when truck needed done
Merry Christmas to you and your family! Pretty lady Tim.
She doesn't look like his wife!
sounds sweet tim and brax great find y'all

I bought that same shirt that Tim is wearing! I love the flag on the back of it!
i love seeing these eagles making a comeback. Thats an older split window ❤ ❤
First like and comment. Happy Holidays to you and your Beautiful families.
God bless you all
the propane line may be for a one burner stove to cook with or like you said they may had a small heater...
I like the engine sounds.
It's propane injection, it's the granddad of the dpf
That other canister was for def 😂👍✌️
Love your shop videos
You could not pay me enough as a driver to row them gears, but as an owner operator you could not pay me enough to take it offy hands, so crappy, so beautiful, definitely going to be a love hate relationship with the old FLD

Would outfit there with reservoirs.
That’s pretty cool!
It could be for a propane refrigerator they use those alot up north
Sounds good...
That truck, sounds well behaved under the hood
. I thinking that it knows that you will put the very best oil and stuff in there for sure
TIM ??? THAT'S A BOSSES shirt ... Your a OWNER ... .... 😮is there a difference between those 😮❤
The reason that propane is on there is that they mixed it in the injectors for better fuel mileage. At least, that's what I was told by an old timer that had it on his truck
That propane was for cooking some steak etc. unlesss it was a backup for heat bc up north u always need it in winter
Water separation unit by the prime, I believe
look at that new engine ,u can tell its new from the factory
Cracked bell housing is because of flex. A driver is not being easy going through the gears.
YUUUUUUUP. A driver that can't actually shift and drive the truck he's in
I had my 1st truck destroyed by a driver that lied about his ability, DURING THE DRIVE TEST. Told me me "he was rusty".
Had to test him with a load. 45000 lbs of paper. He trashed the transmission
Was ROMPING it
That fld that cat still purs like a new truck
Has extra oil as the 3406 USED oil
That rattle would have to go. Driving me flipping nuts.
The reason why it shifts so smooth is because it's not a worn-out pile of crap yet.
"Everything looks good with the exhaust" and a wire loom is sitting right on the exhaust.
Tim you guys are amazing I have a truck to that I wish that I could get some help fixing it to put it back on the road
I would name that truck cowboy. It reminds me of the dallas cowboys, my favorite team
Hey Tim and Braxton are you doing today my like watching your UA-cam videos and they are very educated and I like the content in the videos and I like the way you explain things to your viewers in marry Christmas to and your family
Hi tim and braxton and family members
Propane for fridge/heater? No Green apu’s 30 yrs ago! lol
Older trucks still make money and look better than the newer trucks
If it was my money, I would keep it simple, stock, and clean... the dash is amazing. Why did we ever move away from the fake wood?
Tim I'm sorry I'm late to the party I'm an hour behind but most of all how is your dad doing my prayers are for him❤❤❤❤
Fld look so sweet. Rooster 🐓 is bad to bone truck in fleet
Get rid of all the blue paint. Glad it's going to be put back in service
More Guages and Dual Stacks A Radio and CB
Good clean truck
Nice old Truck
Thanks, she's a beauty!
OEM Style aero chrome bumper or just a lower one to match the lower side skirts and upgrade headlights to the single housing lens and I agree paint the fenders she’ll be the cat’s meow than. You are speaking my language. Definitely want to make this truck look nice.
I will say this at least it has a Awesome CAT 😺 MOTOR for it's Powerplant!!!
Those engines are beasts!
Tim do more videos! Hope dad is well!
Man the camera lady is gorgeous ❤
Nice find Tim, I bet the guy had a gas stove inside the cab for cooking.
Cool truck
8:15 great job on that seatbelt wearing!! 😂
But he always wears it.😂😂😂😂
Where is the blue FLD at?
The dash is what’s rattling
Looks like it wasn’t charging. But I like it.
u got some nice junk oh i mean great equt//trucks
Hello Tim how are you doing and how is your dad doing today
It's that panel where all the fuse box is that on the floor it's not tied you need to make it tighter and we'll put all that noise that panel in the floor by the dash in the middle of the seat
Hi Tim, you said it runs smooth.....Why not name it SMOOTH OPERATOR 😉
Need more cab overs
Well Timmy they didn't call them freight shakers for nothing😅😅😅 you couldn't fix the rattles fast enough to have a nice quiet ride..
Dam great video 👍
That rattle: passenger side mirror or spot mirror on hood or hood latch on passenger side needs adjustment is my guess ???
What is it with revving every truck up in the lot and taking off?? Shifts them all like a cowboy too! Slow down a little, it's not a contest to see how fast you can shift the gears
Dad always said Pete’s were over rated trucks. Said they were the Cadillac of trucks to which he said they weren’t. He would’ve rather had a shaker
That truck was leased with Landstar and 421075 is an Inway truck number
Tim NO Disrespect BUT No way is that a Better Truck than ROSTER that Truck doesn't even come close to Roster. Wait until whenever You decide to Paint Roster and install New Parts Roster will Shine over anything out there.
ust a few nit pick things to fix and that will be a damn nice truck to drive if you can i think i would put new glass in the windshield i wander if the owner has that gas on for a grill to cook on crazy idea but never know
I’m sorry but what an over road experience driver would want to drive them kind of trucks?
The biggest advantage is no ELD's. Anything pre-2000 is exempt because the ECM's can't communicate with the new technology. The next advantage is maintenance costs, DEF is a bottomless money pit. Worried about a rattle. Yet the fuel Guage dont work.
Put Braxtons burn out truck on the road. Its paid for
that girl is a good side parter /shes smart
Tim that is a oil reserve tank if you need to put more oil
Sounds like the visor
If you need trucks there are some up from where I live at there is a daycab Kenworth and the freightliners
