Yeah thanks man! Good work!
Thank you my dude.
Thank you for doing this for me!
Where is the link for downloademall
Bro you literally had my childhood here. A chilly morning, birds chirping outside, playing these games all day. Literally nostalgia 😢
Very true. I wish I could return the wheel of time into those days. Those were very happy days
no trash talks, no dlc, no pay to win, just playing
Glory days.
My favourites are Sid Meier Colonization and Civilization and Tyrian
@@arikgwie5172 I like seven kingdoms.
I still remember some of em.🤣
Age of empires is still being made
Today.
I used to play these games on my grandpa's, i remember vividly that he would always keep me company while playing these games. This video brought tears to my eyes.... Brings me back to the good times. Thank you very much
You are most welcome. I love reading stories like these!
I miss some of these games. Thanks for posting. Very nostalgic
The guy's or girls who made these
Are either dead,old or retired.
Mostly retired.
They fulfill there dream of making
Windows Games.(no pun intended)
Mission accomplished.
You made our childhoods very
Well.
Does any one know the title of an old Windows 3.x game, where the protagonist collects apples, with a crunching sound sfx, and if you die, an audio clip of a baby crying plays back and if you mange to complete the stage, an audio clip of a baby laughing plays back? I vaguely remember that the background in the game was made to resemble a page of a notebook, with the lines drawn in.
Maybe Mr. Matt? ua-cam.com/video/qc5AXBSFEKM/v-deo.html
@@Tresonance Thanks, but unfortunately that's not it.
The main character was a woman I believe, with a similar art style as the "Hugo House of Horrors," DOS game.
And the background was made to look like the page of a notebook with blue and red lines.
Daisy's garden 2, I think you're remembering multiple games but the woman protagonist, eating apples with crunching sounds, and the baby sfx is definitely daisy's garden 2.
Always liked how they'll use midi
Music from famous artists without
Being sued or sounds from movies.
T.v. shows.
Fits the games tho.
excellent list 👍 another great title is Dare 2 Dream
Like how the bat is frozen in the easy
Difficulty.
But hard difficulty he's woke.😱
I remember when I was a kid and someone had Win 3.1, I would always go right to the games to be disappointed lol.
I feel grateful for growing up in that time.😊
I played exactly 30 of these games in my youth. man that takes me back.
R.i.p. to the guy's who made these
Games no longer with us.😢
There was a game I really loved playing on my computer. I can’t seem to find it anywhere so maybe I must be crazy. It had a very similar layout and graphics to Chomp or Pac-Man. You were trying to escape from jail cells and had to collect the key to go forward. And the intro to the game depicted someone creeping in front of a brick wall, then a spotlight lands on then
i would say Dynamite Joe
If you get the game 🎮 please let me know it .
Cd-man?
Sounds like jewel chase
@@Psychospheres oh my goodness! That’s the game!!!! Thank you so much hahaha ❤️
My brother and I both remember a polygonal space shooter that only ran on Windows 3.x where you shot 3D missiles. Have never been able to find it.
What else can you remember about it? The only Polygonal games I can think of for Windows 3.1 was the ports for Battlezone and Tempest.
dam, so much nostalgia in this video,so sad to see how fast the time runs by.
we can still get the games if we have an old pc, an emulator and even internet arhcive
@@swatijain6466 ik but we have all missed the days that we were struggling in to even turn on pc haha
lol
we need the past to come back fr
My favorite was the game diamonds.
That game was addictive.
Even had a custom section.
Thanks!! After many years I finally found the game I was looking for!
we can still get the games from an emulator or even internet archive
Nice :)
got these running on xbox using windows 98
I'm pretty sure the 'Adventure of MicroMan' that i played on Windows XP looked way better, it's was some kind of Demo, yet, it's was in HD, not a poorly pixelated game, idk where i found this game, i forgot
MicroMan had a remake, you might be thinking of that. It was released around the time of Windows XP.
It's had several versions, including ones for both creator Brian Goble's start ups Monolith and HipSoft.
I remember Chomp---it's one of the reasons I bought Fun Pack back in 1993 with my birthday money when I was a kid; I knew my parents wouldn't approve of anything violent, so I went into a store hoping to get some decent games for their new Windows 3.1 machine---something like Pacman or Tetris. Fun Pack gave me both!
OMG ZEEK THE GEEK!!! I DIDNT KNOW THE NAME! THANK YOU SO MUCH
I only knew about Minesweeper and Solitaire.
Remember the tc robot games.
The sword one was violent.
You have a swordfight with this
Invisible guy in s dark void.
You see blood everywhere when
Cutting him up.
ahh i remeber bang bang! you should add inner space by software dynamics to the list they still sell that one
Don't forget the soleu software
Puzzle games.
That guy only did puzzlers.
Not one violent game came from him.
He ran for 20 years wow.
I kept remembering the Microman game and couldn't think of the name of it. Thanks for this!!!
You are welcome! I even have a video of Micro Man on my channel.
There were like different versions of that.
Some have sound some don't.
There was a new one in early 2000.
The main villian:YOU WILL DIE!!!!!!
Sometimes you could hit em.
Always hated when you fall you fall
Forever till you die.
The most important thing is that you pay only for the game itself, and not for its content.
I remember playing the adventures of microman and winroids and skifree and Tetris for windows. Many of these games I never heard of.
I am making ready to go packs for windows 3.11 and ready to go packs for individual CD games like Myst and fun stuff like the art program kid pix studio deluxe.
These games might also work fine with OTVDM as Microsoft discontinued their NTVDM component with the release of Windows 11, as that OS dropped support for 32-bit CPUs. RIP NTVDM; 1993-2021.
used to play the crap out of Chip's Challenge back in the day. that was so much fun
also JezzBall, had completely forgotten about that game
The background music is the theme from Color Collision on Normal Difficulty!!!
Skii free, chip challenge, commando keen, jezzball💓..i still have windows 3.1 on windows 10..
lol I'll never forget the god awful screeching my PC's speaker would make for when Willi takes a boulder to the head. For some reason it doesn't work in virtual machines. It just places the very first sound and nothing else.
There was a game I had that did all it's sound through the PC Speaker, and I remember it scaring me half to death when the mascot of the game would scream at you.
I think dosbox *might* be able to play the PC Speaker sounds correctly, it might vary on how many cycles it has to correctly play it.
@@Tresonance lmao yeah those PC speakers were ridiculously loud by default. I think volume mixer had a slider for them? I've never really heard them make a pleasant sound before tho.
I remember one that was a block breaker game with an evil red paddle creature
on top stopping your progress.
Whenever you bout to clear the blocks it gets mad and goes fast shooting at you.😂
Maybe Blasterball?
It was by click an create.
Remember the Exile series?
It was an RPG game.
They came out with like three of em
With one you could go to war with
Anybody.😂
I tried so hard to finish one of the three, but I felt like I never even got close, or maybe I did not understand the rules of the game very well.
@Tresonance remember being in a
Cave and got killed by these creatures.
@Tresonance there's one part of the
Map where there is this army.
And they just straight up decimate
You without any questions.
Whatever they're guarding must
Be serious for them to kill anyone
Coming.
Remember one called comet busters.
It as a game of asteroids but had a sense of humor on later stages like
Barney, 8 balls etc then go back
To being a regular game.
The smiley faces still scare me.
Like how some of these still worked on later windows.
They can almost all work if even on 64-bit versions of Windows with OTVDM. It's how I have Klotski working on my Mom's new laptop she has for work.
@@Tresonance remember playing
one called quenzars caverns.
You go in a cave looking for treasure
While fighting monsters.
The slitering horror was the scariest.
Two red beadty eyes looking at you.
@@Tresonance remember one called
TC robot fight it was a series of games
With blocky cartoon graphics.
They had a star trek one,a sword fight
one, and a tank one etc.
Yep, I remember that one. I beat it a few times too.
Was it Prince of Destruction? It's at 4:24 in this very video.
Ski free is still the best.
Think the yeti's eating you was a running gag meaning there's no way
To win the game.😂
You can speed past the yeti by holding F.
@@digitaldiablo1653 i like going up the
Mountain and seeing the yeti and be like
Yeet and speed down.😅
@@digitaldiablo1653 a UA-camr actually out ran the yeti.
Like the air hockey game.
The same guy also made one where
You have a red ship shooting other
Space ships.
Game got harder as you went then
They start shooting at you.
Sounds like Alien Force. Is that it?
Archive.org has it archived: archive.org/details/win3_AFORCE
@@Tresonance your right.
Man that game starts out well until
They start shooting at you.
The same guy also did air hockey.
Got soooooooo many favorites.
Jezzball,chips challenge etc.
@@Tresonance remember the tc
One's like robot fight,sword fight,
Star trek etc.
The sword fight one was violent.
@@Tresonance remember homestrech.
My sister got mad I deleted it.😂
Like how most of em contined to
Work with later windows.
Thank you for this video
Thanks, I glad you enjoyed it.
Remember the bow an arrow one.
Still hate the tree part.
There was a win 3.11 game that you needed to eat healthy food and avoid junk food, and if you ate too much junk food you gained weight and eventually died. You could also do exercises and lose weight. I guess it was a collection of 4 games actually. Do you know what its name?
Was one of the exercises jumping rope? I vaguely remember something like this.
Remember quenzars cavern?
Those eyes were the stuff of nightmares.
You never know when I'll show up
Also hard to kill.
Think it was called the slithering
Horror.
The red eyes will give you chills.
They even give you a hint it's in
The next room.
Something is slithering in the
Next room.😱
"You hear a raspy slithering noise from an adjacent room!"
@lockers93 yes.😂
Also remember one called q bob it
Was a clone of q bert in space quite
Violent how he dies tho.
Blood floating up his helmet.😱
Amazing list, but u forgot some other good classic... Six Feet Under, Astrasoft Fire!, Astrasoft Bzzz!, Daisy's Garden, Bow and Arrow, Boxworld and Thexder (the last one maybe come out only for Windows 95), anyway Windows 3.1 has a really underrated and obscure games library. Monopoly Deluxe for 1991 with these animations its really impressive O_O
If I do another collection of games, I will make sure to record those ones.
Remember one called 4 sale.
You buy food or shoplift it
To people.
If you do the clerks will come after
You with a chainsaw in an
RPG battle.
Sometimes you escape sometimes you don't.🤣
It's hilarious.
Omgggg. Fuji golf and tiles and tribulations….
thanks for this video ❤️
Weird question and probably a long shot lol anyone know what the background music is? Lol it also plays in one of my newborns toys and it sounds like a familiar song and we just cant figure it out lol
There's 3 songs in this video, they are Canon in D by Pachelbel, Beethoven's 8th ADAGIO, or Gymnopédie No.1 by Erik Satie. Hope this helps you!
i couldnt even find some of those games
Delightful.
Kye! I found you! I looked everywhere, I thought it was spelled Kai. I found it, woooo
Glad to have helped!
Oh oh here's one 4 sale where you
Go in a store buying stuff you could
Also shoplift and smuggle food.😂
The clerks come after you with a chainsaw then turns into an RPG.
You could escape them tho.
Never heard of that one.
@Tresonance it was one of those rare
Windows titles.
@Tresonance a text game.
@@Tresonanceit was a windows text
Based game.
I want to know the last song used
Gymnopédie No.1 - Erik Satie.
9:55 "Dio's place"
JOJO X SIMCITY CROSSOVER CONFIRMED. 🤣
What’s the name of the music that starts ate 6:40? Great video btw wonderful games!
That would be Gymnopédie No.1, by Erik Satie. Thank you for your kind words!
Sim city for win
Wormworld
Bang bang!
In the dark(never played before, looks like an interesting game)
Crocodile clips 3
Loadrunner (looks like Jhonny megatone XD
Smartdots(game already in clubhouse games 51 Nintendo)
Jezzball, looks interesting
Pipedream (fking found you!!!)
Gracias
I've played some of these...
Exile was so good. A shame with all the updates.
They had like three of em.
Always like the start of the game
They show the heroes getting on each
Other nerves.😂
Throgg want kill.
Then one of em tells each other to
Shut up.
Da werden Erinnerungen wach 🤩 Nur die Musik ist grauenvoll... 😅
I so want the full registered version of The Inside World
I do have the Full Game, I'm not sure if I can legally give it out though. I do plan to at some point record the whole game.
@@Tresonance it’s abandonware though. I’m happy to pay you for a copy though can I please have one
Softgame still sells it, that's how I got my copy. Have you tried e-mailing Softgame about it? I inquired about buying the game many years ago and they were more than happy to work out a deal with me.
@@Tresonance yeah I have and no response. They have an iPhone game which is totally different meaning they have stop giving technical support to the classic windows 3.1 version. I’m willing to pay you if you are guilty of lending it out.
@@Tresonance you cool with that?
how dare you forget kid pix
I was going to add Kid Pix actually. The problem was, Dosbox at the time this video was made had major issues with drawing certain games, Kid Pix being one of them. Unlike Gravity Well, It wasn't something minor I could ignore.
A new fork called DosBox X can get the job done, so If I ever do a second video on Windows 3.1 games, it'll be there for sure.
Kid pix wasn't a game tho.
Heard you could make games on
It.
600/100 =6
6 seconds per game
I didn't even remember I had played these games before. I must have been like 6-9?
How did you remember then?
@@danbluehz20 Because this video refreshed my memory? Like Maxwell's Maniac or Pick Up Sticks, for example. Must have been like at least 16 years ago. Others like Bang! Bang! I remembered quite well. No greater competition between siblings than bombarding each other.
Rodent's Revenge!!!!!
I lost them cats in a hole once.😂
I was the one that gave the 667th like
Music is too depressing but yeah you can defo learn some good titles u never played.
NiceGame
Where are Diamonds? 😢
