I really like 'Scarfari' for the name of the zoo. Ofcourse it's not a safari, but the name just works too well to pass up.

That's what I was thinking! Maybe the official entrance is by the tree, and closed for fire, but the entrance from the train has a more ramshackle/temporary feeling

The only zoo name my brain could conjure is Scarassic Park and now all I can think about is Scar showing Peal, Grian and Joel an enclosure filled with random mods saying "Welcome, to SCARASSIC PARK!!" before cutting to a title card with a Ravanger skeleton above the title!

I think the main entrance should be the one by the train station, and i think it would be cool for the hostile mob section to be under the flaming tree! The story could be something like magic hands man cast an eternal blaze on that tree as revenge for being captured

I like the idea of having one grand entrance where you already have it mapped out and then a smaller entrance by the train for those who bought a special pass to get in through a more intimate kind of entrance directly from the train.

I say two entrances! One large one for the hermits as planned and a small entrance by the station for story purposes, lots of zoos and theme parks have multiple!
Love seeing how Scar goes from nice orderly lines of grass placement to grass art installation to wild squiggles as the time-lapse continues. That’s a lot of blocks to place!

I think it would be an amazing idea to have an entrance by the tree that's been closed down due to the dangerous fire. Then, have the backup entrance open. I think it would make it more life like

I like the entrance from the railroad over the fire tree entrance. I think it flows a lot better and you can use the fire tree as a backdrop to an exhibit. (Maybe a BLAZE exhibit explaining why it's on fire)

I think a really cool way to get into the zoo would be a lil boat trip. You already made a river, so you just need a sign and a dock!
I would definitely make the entrance by the fire tree. There is much more space for a cool and grand entrance! And then, if you want, i know that some theme parks (zoo's aren't really my expertise ) have multiple entrances so you can just make both! 😊 12:45

I feel like the entrance by the train station makes more sense, for unloading. but the entrance by the fire tree would look more grand. Maybe just do a smaller entrance, like service access or something by the train.
Also a tip; If you make a Tee with rails and the middle one is facing one way, you can use a lever to turn it the other way.

Goodness, I was trying to do homework in the background when your twitchcon recap made me tear up! I feel so blessed to have found this wonderful community full of positivity, gives me so much hope. Can't wait to see what the zoo become Mr. Scar of the goodtimes as I know it will be incredible.
He colected 60 shulkers of grass blocks, which probably took approximately 3.5 hours to collect all the grass blocks, assuming constant uninterrupted mining without any breaks... (with an Efficiency V diamond or netherite shovel, the block-breaking time is , approximately 0.05 seconds per block)
He could have made Impulse the happiest french fry - haired hermit on the server.
The collecting is the easy part. It's the placing that takes forever.

I honestly like the entrance from the fire tree better. The sightlines are immaculate, and anything grand you build won't be overshadowed by the trees and vice versa!
Scar, here is a suggestion for the name. How about 'Scarsa-fari'? combines scar and 'safari', which is the where you can see lots of animals :) Or just 'Scarsa' for short. Loving the zoo already btw (ps/edit another suggestion would be scarfari, which I thought of and I've seen other people think of as well :)

I think you should have the entrance at the fire tree, since the train station would be more "employee" to bring in the mobs. Also, name suggestions: "Scar's Adventure Park" or "Scar's Adventures"

I think the fire tree area makes the most sense for the main entrance to the zoo. However, I think a second employee entrance out the back of the train station would be a really cool little touch. They had to have gotten all the animals and supplies off the train and into the zoo somehow.
This was such a treat to come back to after not watching Hermitcraft for a while! Thank you for always making me smile!
Also, a helpful tip for moving mobs in the future is that when you send a restore signal to a corner rail its rotation flips! I didn’t word it the best though, so you might want to do a few tests to understand what I mean 😁

A name for the zoo came to me was Scartopia. A combination of Scar, and Utopia "An imagined place or state of things in which everything is perfect". Your imagination brings it to life where all the imperfect things that happened trying to gather the exhibits have brought it to perfection now.
Sorry to hear how you were treated on the airlines Scar! They need to be accommodating for people with disabilities!
The Big Green Pancake really reminds me of classic Roller Coaster Tycoon, the starter park specifically.
With that in mind, my park name suggestion is "Forest Frontiers", the default name of the starter park in the original Roller Coaster Tycoon!
(It was one of my favorite games as a kid, even though I was no good at it lol)

No idea of what you should name the Zoo but the Zoo could be owned by the same people who own Scarland from last season. Could be really cool to see, maybe even bring the Jellie-Pandas from 3rd Life!

the transition for Cub's secret base relocation was so impressive omg I was not expecting that!
I like the idea of the zoo entrance being by the train station almost like people regularly take the train to the zoo or something. But also, something about having a big impactful entrance facing towards the busier parts of the hermitcraft server just sits so right, and I can tell you can visuallize it a lot easier just by the planning you did. Maybe you could have two entrances, like other commenters have said? I especially like the idea that the big main entrance had to be shut down because of the burning tree hazard and now the backup entrance is open. (You could still make the main entrance passable ofc.)
You should make a free-range creeper area for all of the beautiful wild creepers.
Personally I prefer the entrance idea from the train station
For the entrances to the zoo you should have both. One being the largest main entrance and a smaller side entrance or exit
I love the train station entrance, it feels more natural like people could come and go to the station just for the zoo
i like the idea of the enterence coming from the train over bridges!! especially with it being more in the trees it gives that feeling of excitement and not quite being able to see what you're walking into

I think that a station entrance just makes more sense. Like... imagine you were a guest and arrived by train - you'd expect to get to train TO the entrance! In addition... where does the fire tree entrance go to? Unless you were planning a car park it doesnt seem to point up at anything.
Also design wise, i just think wandering through the redwoods near the station and having the entrance amongst that just seem really nice

SO many grass blocks! I can’t wait to see the zoo come to life! The entrance coming from the train station would be a good flow, but I really like how you laid out the entrance by the burning tree. I can just see blocky topiaries of the different mobs you could see at the zoo!
I would say put the entrance to the zoo behind the train station! The best zoos I’ve been to are the ones where it feels like you’re exploring the area, or you’ve come across some hidden gem in the woods. Having that entrance be a little bit hidden away would definitely give it that charm. (Though you could always put a second, less grand entrance somewhere else lol)

Why not both entrances? Most of the zoos I know have multiple entrances, often one near a car park and one near a public transport station. They simply have different themes/designs. Berlin, for example, has an elephant gate and a lion gate.
Mob statues! I think it'd be cool to see statues of mobs who didn't win the mobvote! Since zoos sometimes show off information about animals that are endangered or even extinct!

I can visualize a tree on fire away from a main area. Going through the woods to enter the zoo makes you feel like you're going on/part of the adventure

Trainstantion entrance makes the most sense lore-wise. You come out at the train station for the zoo visit. It’s about accessibility

I thought the thumbnail was a superflat world, nope, it's actually just 100,000 Grass Blocks. Insane.
If you want to do something with the river biome winding through it all you could put a glass floor and have a "natural" exhibit with fish underneath there! Lit by sea pickles and lanterns and decorated nicely but still a very natural look.
@GoodTimesWithScar this video was amazing and a perfect decompress after being ill all week and then spending the day catching up. I love the look of the zoo and shop month is going to be so much fun

It's a small thing but Scar you're movement in Minecraft has gotten so much better! You were simply gliding through Ravager Rush.
i like the train station gate spot for walkability, like that’s how most people are actually going to ‘arrive’ at the area. but i do think the firetree spot requires some sort of port or lookout or monument to make the most of that sight line. i just think if you put the gate there, it’s going to draw more attention than the cool view of the hermits bases that you get from that location.
The Calgary Zoo has the train station entrance on one side of the river, and you get to the zoo via a tunnel under the river to the zoo that's an island in the middle of the river.
It's a pretty nice layout
