I found that my aim improved the best when I started incorporating the other aim categories, instead of only focusing on what "made sense for the game I played". Here's an Iroh quote for absolutely no reason:

This really opened my eyes about improving in fpses from aim training. I too felt like my aim had reached a point where it was good enough for all scenarios in fpses, but perhaps that's because I didn't focus on skillsets I'm weak at and my fundamentals not being perfect. This video regained some of my motivation and desire to improve my aim *for* fpses as well, there perhaps is no ceiling for this skill. Wonderfully crafted video!

I think the part that everyone always forgets, is that aim training improves ONLY your aim, and nothing else. Your target acquisition and reaction. But it doesn't account for multitudes of other factors: game sense and map knowledge, understanding people and their predictability within your ranks, the recoil, the recoil SPECIFICALLY. When you aim in games you mostly use a weapon that kicks up, jumping and landing might flick your crosshair up an down, you might have a breathing and sway mechanic that'll affect your aim too. Aim trainers don't help you with that. I would argue aiming in games is 80% pure aim mechanics, and the last 20% that holds most back are the in-game mechanics of whichever game you play. And, believe it or not, most of these things are transferable, recoil is somewhat universal, if you practice pure recoil control in Apex, Siege, and Valorant or CS as a collective, that skill transfers over so much you don't even realize your hand automatically controls whatever recoil you have.
I have a friend who, I kid you not, sunk about 300 of his 3,000 R6S hours into pure recoil control, and when we went on the Finals when that was hot he said 'oh wow there's no recoil'. No, my guy. It's just your fucking hand.😂

I see this so much in Valorant, people will hit Masters or GM in static and the vox scens and think their mechanics are "good enough" and that they'll never have to touch an aim trainer again. That's like me hitting 400lb pb benchpress in the gym and then quitting weightlifting thinking that I'll be able to continue to bench 400 and reap those health benefits for the rest of my life, it's a nonsensical way to think. And I also see other people not wanting to train tracking at all because "Valorant doesn't need it" or whatever and then turn around and gush over demon1 aim clips, not knowing how tracking-intensive UT4 was. I'm glad that these misconceptions around aim trainers are starting to become undone, even if there still is a long way to go before they're completely undone.

Holy shit this is almost my exact story with aim trainers. I used to only play almost only static for hundreds of hours, pushing well into the top 100 of many of the most played static scenarios on Kovaak's. However I eventually grew frustrated with my in game performance and went back to exclusively playing fps games (mostly overwatch) where I shattered my all time peak and hit GM1 by just focusing on the game itself. Eventually college classes picked up a lot and so I went back to aim trainers just as a method to de-stress now that I didn't have time to be playing games as much, but this time I have found an increasing satisfaction in becoming a well rounded aimer. Im coming up soon on GM Complete in the S4 benchmarks, and my improvement is somehow almost as fast as it was in the early days of me playing trainers. I never knew there was a leader board, I'll have to start recording my scores on video so I can submit to it.
When I do play games now with my more limited time, although I may not be as good at them overall as I used to be, my aim still is noticeably better than it used to be in almost all aspects. I'm so happy I clicked on this video

What some people don't realize is that once you get an underlying base of "good" aim the trainers are there to maintain it. So, the further you climb in the trainer the stronger your base is. The rest is up to the player to translate it over into whatever game they're playing, and you showed that perfectly in your video.

GOATcose dropping another banger on our foreheads. That section around 6-8 minutes where you're letting your skill speak for itself *chefs kiss*. Sports are a great comparison here because elite talents like Messi, Curry, Djokovic, and Serena aren't elite because they played more. Through tedious drills, they built wicked consistency, then they integrated that raw skill through scrims and low-stakes games. Thank you for taking the time to do this because it shows how people can utilize aimtrainers to skyrocket their level.

What a great video! It randomly popped up on my feed, but the way you presented your experience with aim trainers / translation of aim training to fps games was one of the best videos I've seen in years. Looking forward to more of your insights in future videos 💪

Man I have to say. You are talented. I've been following you for a while now. I kept on aim training because of you and tried to implement any tips you gave me. I appreciate it. Your dedication truely amazes till this day and I've been inspired by you so much. I didn't expect you to be so charismatic and lay out the information into videos so well, it's simple and super great to understand. Thanks for everything, I hope you have a nice day much lovee 😎🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

Great video! From my experience I FFA deathmatch to warm up for CS2 but my headshot percentage and overall stats are worse when I hop into ranked bomb defusal. It's because there's no pressure or stakes when it comes to FFA DM so I am very calm and can focus on shooting. In-game there are so many factors like timers, screaming teammates, etc. I don't use aim-trainers but it's for certain when you use those the targets often don't shoot back haha.

Yea, if aim training is the bulk of your game time and your goal is to improve in a specific game, you're building your snowman upside down.
You need a large volume of time spent in your specific game to make up your foundation. Mouse control is the icing on the cake.

i absolutely adore the way you explained your progression, something about it just clicks well in my brain. the video definitely inspired me to get more into aim training. i have some questions though! ^^
    1. at what age did you start aim training and do you think age affects how quickly you improve?
    2. is it better to start off specializing in one aiming style over another, or to try improving every benchmark?
    3. do you find mouse grip to be important? if so, what would be some general advice to maintain good mouse grip or ergonomics?
    4. do you think just aim training is more impactful than just playing a variety of different fps games?
i'm interested to know what you think about these :D

I believe the thing that makes you wonder why you improved going back and forth, can be explained the same way you would train in sports. As gaming can be something to train for, with anything, there are basics you have to learn, and just because you learn them, it does not mean you stop practicing them. You always practice your basics, that is why when you went back and forth, you noticed a difference because you were going over them again. The same is done in weight lifting, you always practice good form.

thank you so much for making such a great video, so much information that helps alot (for me trying to get better at fps games) it answers a question that everyone asked and that I myself have wondered (with overwatch the new projectile sizes) is my aim getting better or is it just because of the changes, thank you so much for this video helps so much and kinda tells me that me having fun with aim trainers isn't for nothing ty again :D

I feel like having average aim is better than having above average aim as long as you have game sense to compensate. Expecting where people are, or setting yourself up will always be faster than just reacting and hoping your aim is good enough.
