Just used your video to reassure me on the method of how to clean the filter. I installed a Magnaclean Atom on my system in July 2019 having installed a new combi boiler. Went like a dream and had a similar amount of gunge as your mock up, in 12 months. I had to install it quite close to the floor so did have to use something other than than the key supplied. Thanks
You can subscribe to my VLOG channel here: ua-cam.com/users/timeswithjames also how the hell can this video get 7 dislike before it's even published? UA-cam is crazy!
That bypass is a gem 💎 Brilliant bit of kit.
That was gooooood, has given me confidence to do mine, been off the tools for some time. Have the same set up with boiler and ceiling.
I'm so glad you uploaded this we are talking about this in theory in college
Very good video chap, most promotional videos would have stopped at an unboxing, you’ve demonstrated all the features in a friendly instructional way. Nicely done - I hope the beer was refreshing, as you deserved it.
I agree, put the inhibitor in looks nice and easy 👍
Another cracking vid James! With infectious enthusiasm
Hi Percy, thanks for your kind comment!
@@plumberparts No problem. I qualified as a plumber in July at the age of 35, I've found your videos, especially your instructional ones, incredibly helpful, useful and very informative, throughout my training. Cheers :)
Many thanks, great video, installed my Atom yesterday following your instructions
Love these vids mate....great to see it in action and I can direct my customers to it....keep up the good work - you crack me up anyway...LOL
Great review, I’ll be looking out for this 👍
Nice one James. Got to admit was looking forward to this one.
Love it thanks - going to buy one
Great review professionally done love your attitude to life. Your only here once enjoy it. Enjoy the beer.
great product james loved the video.
Just had the plumber round re a new combi install and I didn't want pipes coming down from the boiler when they need to go up into the ceiling. A rear spacer on the boiler will sort this and given the small size of the Atom, this can go above the boiler too in the flow return - A perfect solution!! Hope I either win an Atom or my plumber can get one before mid December!
Brilliant new timesaver cheers for that
Great video yet again do we have a ball park figure on costings on the Atom ?
Hi James. Great vid as always. When you done the vid in your garage installing pipes I noticed the gaffer tape over joists above. Did you put something between floor above and joists below?
Love your face when you cut the 22 😂😂😂😂
Do like the look at that filter 👍👍👍👍
Top job James great review!
Thanks Mat!
@@plumberparts Brilliant ,anyone ever told you that you are like Bradley Walsh!
Lynda Foster surely Bradly Cooper! 😂😂
Great vid James!!!
Have you any experience with gun barrel pipe? Any chance you could do a video about it and how to deal with the usual problems associated? Thanks.
Could you do a video on expansion relief valves and where there should be fitted
Reminder is on.
Great job, keep up the great work. Also, how in the heck can you sit with your legs folded up like that??? Amazing!
Fantastic demo I will definitely use this filter when space is an issue I don't know what the thumbs down is about 👍.
Great vids mate
Thanks Stephen! Hope you check out the beast!
Sorry, a off topic question. I really like you explain. Do you have any video on multi zone heating pipe install?
Great video, did they ever bring out the adapter for the magnacleanse I can't find it online.
Hi James love your videos doing my level 3 diploma at collage at the moment. Can you do a video about putting a sink and waste in a cellar with a waste pump as it’s underground thank you
Regards
James
Great video, but did you just miss the hi5 your right hand gave to your left hand at the end 🤣 at 16:06
Fernox tf1 has slip one , in 28mm and 22mm been out over a year .
Informative video-is this product overkill for a 5 rad system? If so, which would you recommend? Thanks
You can get the fernox tf1 omega with a slip but it's not quite the same. Good vids mate
Good video. Can any make of inhibitor be added to the CH systems with Magnaclean filters?
James, is it possible to mount a compact filter like this inside the casing of an external combi oil boiler rather than in the house?
You're a top bloke!
Where would you fit one of these on a system boiler with hot water tank s plan?
Did you that Fernox will not sell you a replacement magnet assembly for their Filters, even if you have just installed a new one and dropped the magnet assembly breaking it making the filter useless, No you have to buy a complete new filter.
What an excellent customer service policy.
Hi James, i noticed from 11:35 you were turning the filter to the bypass mode, you started to turn the valve clockwise then in the next close up clip it shows you turning it anticlockwise with the point of the arrow at the bottom, but when you took the filter head off the arrow point was at the highest point at 12:17, i think you got the wrong bit of clip in there, correct me if i'm wrong. I have to do the plumbing for my job when necessary and i havn't worked on this model of filter before, but have worked on other Adey filters in the past. Good video though
nice surprise to my question being read out can't wait to go to college to see Jonny's face he will be gutted haha.
love the product
Haha! No worries bro!
Do you want a badge??? ;)

Like a kid with a new toy at Xmas watching the gunge then the rapid dose surging around your 'system'. Here's an idea for magnaclean - could they make the bowl out of a see-through material? You could sit and watch the gunge entering but not leaving. Could you incorporate a viewing tank or similar (a length of heat resistant clear pipe?) into the heating system so you can keep an eye on the state of the liquid?
Excellent instructions with terrible jokes as a bonus, great work, tx
James do you know what strength in Gauss has the magnet of the Atom model ? For instance I found just in the Hungarian manual for Magnaclean Micro 2 that it has a 12000 Gauss magnet. Then Fernox TF1 has a 9000 Gauss magnet. Atom what magnet has ?
Is that a vilo pump?? It looks like the wilo modulating pump. Just wondering as I might purchase one of them.
Great video James
Regards Fionnan
Hi can you fit it on the flow as room is tight on the return
Great Job 😸
Thanks dude!
Would you normally recommend de-burring cuts?
Is the 28mm still better than all the others in regards to the larger magnet. Size could be an issue for 28mm.
Does that the atom have to follow a direction of flow. Ie if under boiler flows up thorough it and if a above boiler does it need rotating so if flows down or is it universal deposing on which side you want the bypass key?
I can see that this filter collects ferrous sludge, but what about limescale particles and other non-magnetic debris? My old Spiro filter used to collect both...
There is no space for this to be installed on the flow to the boiler below it. Could I install in the airing cupboard before the pump like you have?
Got an idea for a video... how about you mock up a demo system in clear pipe on that wall... tank. Valve. Pump. One rad. Coil for the cylinder. Bypass ??? Would be good to see it actually working
Is it possible to instal and service the Atom filter in a horizintal 22mm pipe run under a floor that has a 150mm gap between the floor and the ceiling below, with a bowl etc. to catch any fluids, and a robust trap door in the floor?
What is the minimum practical under-floor gap?
Please demonstrate.
Giles Whittaker.
I have a baxi combi 105 he do I fit the atom on the heating return pipe
Moved into a house a couple of years ago that has a 43 year old oil boiler. I've been trying to understand how its piped up as it has 28mm feed and return pipes on the right side which only go to the hot water cylinder with an electronic valve, but also has 22mm feed and return on the left side that look to go to the rads. There is only one pump on the boiler and its within the boiler housing. The system is open vented. Was this setup normal in the stone age, and does that one pump drive both loops, or is it just convection driving the water loop and the pump would be on the rad loop. Whole thing looks bonkers to me.
what is a dose and why do we need one? ive only had a dose once, that was in Tenerife and was a pain to get rid of!
Hi James, It's over three years since you said there would be a flushing adapter coming out, as I can't find one any ware do you know if it was released.
Did you find this? Also looking for the same.
still, no power flush adapter available for this filter housing.
They should supply a rubber a ring to put on the bottom piece of pipe to stop the nut falling.... If that paper falls your screwed.
I’d just use the 1million I have in the van! 😂
Ha! Good point.... ok tip of the day put a spare rubber ring from the one million in the van over the bottom pipe before you put the nut on.
Use a cable tie to stop the nut dropping?
I have sentinel X100 in my system. Over the years, with removing rads for decorating Ect. the inhibitor has probably been diluted. Would it be ok to add Protector to it?
Yes Ian, thats fine.
yo james quick question i wish i had your skills so i could put this up myself mybe you could help lol was just wondering how much a job like this would cost??Ill be holding tight for your answer
Lithuanian fan here:) Why do always use copper pipes rather then modern pex pipes?
will it work with back boilers?
Do this have to fit on the return
I have brought the magna clean to fit to a grant combi oil boiler out side ow close to the boiler can I fit it because the underneath of my mobile lodge as had spray foam covered pipes up so were do you think the best place to put it .
There's no rule as to where it goes, so it could go inside, on the return is best
you say that the Atom is good for 10-12 rads. Do double rads count as one or two? Thanks very much.
From me the same question. For instance I found somewhere the Magnaclean Micro 2 is said to be effective up to 8 rads. Are these considered simple or double rads ? That’s why Adey should state in their brochures maximum liters not radiators.
might have mentioned if they mention if its best to fit it to the flow or return side, plus who's gonna tell the darts team, about that pipework in their way.......
I'd say return as the temperature is lower and cleaned water goes into the boiler
What you guys think of intergas BOILERS?
From personal experience not a bad boiler and huge transfer heat exchanger. Fewer moving parts then most conventional boilers and easy to service. When they go wrong and they do, ie fans and pcbs they can be are very costly parts wise. Viessmann , baxi or ideal is way to go.
Not sure whats going on with the video but the love chat element screwed my stream to the TV. Heh ho.
One thing I noticed. The handy spanner tool was longer than the mocked tight space between the boiler and ceiling. I assume you would need to revert to a different spanner if there's no room? Perhaps @adey_pro might change the spanner so it can used horizontally as well?
No mate, there’s so many hexes on it you would just turn it off in smaller motions. The spanner is really good once you get your hands on it!
Had a combi installed and the dimwit plumber installed it the Magnaclean atom to some other filter (inlet water?)....anyway,its so close that the bypass valve cannot be accessed with the spanner.
solved the above with an automotive 14mm spanner
How much are these going to cost roughly?
A up Bro, I use to be Happy when I put the Plumber in a Kitchen and Bathroom in, no water "Leek"
Looks a great bit of kit and easy to install. Although I think doing these videos in real world situations would be better for your audience (ie installing on a system that’s full of water, not empty pipe work ).
Great video.
I totally agree. Excellent point.
I’ll try to next time. Please remember that these videos are free and my customers don’t want all my camera gear in their house! What’s important is that I’ve able to show and prove how good this product is...it’s still just a straight bit of 22mm! ❤️
Almost like watching QVC shopping channel 😅😅.
I have 23 rads in my house so it's not the right magna for my system but could you recommend a boiler as I'm wanting to upgrade in the next few months
Thomas Prendiville QVC but with more bum crack
You should really have a correct heat loss and living pattern calculation done so you have the correct boiler.
@@Gixer750pilot haha
Haha!
Oil or gas? QVC or not you guys are getting the first look here!
@plumperparts Hi i'm in an old house build 60s dublin, with all piping on the one end of a single panel radiator. where the outer pipe upto the valve fro mfloor is the water in, and then parallel to that on closer to the radiator meets the horzitonal going fro mthe valve going to the raidator, this is suspect is the flow out.
my issues is after several attempts bleeding the radiator , no heat in it , but the bleeding water out is slightly warm , cant afford the 700euro to flush entire system, need another option as I suspect either the valve is buggered or blocked, which might explain the lukewarm water temp.
ideally would need valve replaced but considering the type and pipes in and out setup, changing the radiator to a newer dbl panel and a newer valve (thermo) might be a better solution, for now looking for idea how to clear the valve or confirm its a block
currently this one radiator upstair bedroom is only one with issue, not counting the box room which has been vavle closed for very long time. it i tried turning on recently and its not heating either.
Measure once cuts thrice
Highlight of the week
Chat just randomly closed?!
plumberparts yeah yeah . Come on Jimbo give me a day and let go to Duxford for some history !!! I have one day of holiday left to take this year
For 20 plus radiators is this the ideal product or is the manga cleanse better?
To small
I WISH UA-cam would let me announce a premier nearer the release time, and not bloody 20 hours before. It annoys you guys and I can see why...but without it we don't get the chat section!
plumberparts it’s fine but for some reason my alert didn’t happen
jesus jones a wet wipe in the pipe !
The omega filter is by far the daddy 25 year warranty No plastic nothing to leak . It would take the pepsi challenge with that all day
I've watched this vid several times now but can't seem to grasp why you've showed opening the bypass valve at 11.40 and then dismantled the filter?? Surely an error in film editing? It needs to show the bypass valve being turned in the direction of the arrow before dismantling the filter?
Wish I loved plumbing as much as him unfortunately I don't.
Is spanner supplied?
Yes
I have a vitodens 200 boiler. The pressure keeps building up and releasing from the pressure release outside if I do not manually release it from the radiator. One guy has said 350 to fix, this to me seems high. Getting a plumber out these days is a nightmare. 2 have just not turned up so in my eyes I refuse to ring them back, another has rang to cancel. Is 350 high to fix this problem? Also will I need to refill it with sentinal?
I would answer all your questions but I'd have to charge you 350😅
You need to check expansion vessel, I would rather call BG for fixed price or from Viessman by asking for a price first. It may need charging the vessel, if this does not work, then expansion vessel may need changing.
@@sirazsaleh5942 Cheers mate. Is this something that can be done with a bit or research or does it involve gas?
A closed system shouldn't be able to get pressure from anywhere other from the pressure when filled and the actual heating of the water, is the filler loop leaking water into the system?
@@bridgendesar No. that is one of the first things I tried. I have took it off and closed the pipes, still doing it.
Why does a magnet filter. Cost more than small pump.
Fern ox omega without valves has a slip coupling in, been out for a good while
But no valves...to service that's a bit of a pain in the bum hole area.... :D
plumberparts either way I’m liking the bypass feature !
LMAO....HAHAHA GOOD VIDEO JAMES.
You crack me up 😂😂😂
if been happy, is sad, I would be quite happy to be sad.
so be happy to be happy.
That opening porn music though 😂😂😂
I've been watching your videos for 5 years now. I've abandoned pornhub.
Great review James. I’d like a nipple.
Let me explain, having a little nipple on the drain off will allow you to get a hose on. I personally don’t carry jugs just a hose. 😆
