I helped my Filipina's parents with small amounts of money seeing they are very poor. She has been the breadwinner, helping to provide since she was 9 years old, paying for family expenses including her 3 brothers weddings and their kids school. We look after each other now and we are very happy. She has told the siblings that now she is with me she will not support them any further, although she will always take care of her parents. She never asks money from me and she really is the best. We sometimes help our friends also with small things, but they return the gesture by shopping for us and cooking. Your comphrension and ability to express your understanding of English is profound. Listening to you is as great as reading a fascinating book that one can not put down. The difference is - we not only have audio but able to see what a beautiful and vibrant woman that you are. Being a expat myself, I can really express my gratitude for your abilities and courage to share. If you could be cloned, there would be a stampede of foreigners vying to get one. As far as the money goes, whether it's the Filipina herself, or if it's her family pushing her into asking for money, she and her family both got along just fine on their own before the foreigner came along. Whatever money we (foreigners) have is not just given to us. We worked hard all our lives to have that money, and we expect everyone else to work hard and earn their own money the same way we did. And we know that the Philippines does not do things the same way as whatever western country we came from, but the principle is still the same, at least in our minds. So, if a foreigner tells a Filipina NO when she asks for money for her family, that's why, and the Filipina needs to understand that about us.
A modern professional Filipina..will not have this baggage. I really don’t see the allure of huge cultural difference associated with the country girls. If your ready for your carpet slippers or your options are limited ..maybe.

Very good and practical information. I think the main thing is that the man needs to be a masculine confident leader who's happy to talk about things in advance and let the Filipina know what to expect in advance, for example he should be upfrom and say something like I'm willing to give your parents $100 a month but I wouldn't be comfortbable getting a lot of reqests for more money, do you think that would work for you and your parents? and then see how she reacts and what she says. But it would be huge mistake to wait until you're already dealing with multiple requests!!!

I support my immediate family but after that not so much. The point is money don't grow on trees so I keep telling my wife to borrow less and save more. She was helping everyone until she got scammed a couple of times. I hope she remembers to be more careful or borrow smaller amounts to reduce the loss. Many promise to pay back but borrowing is easier than paying back when you live poorly in the first place. Don't believe every emergency story you hear either, check things out. It is challenging when the culture is family centric and always in need.

My friend and I were entertaining some filipinas and they were talking to each other in tagalog and having a grand time. Then we sted talking in pig Latin and they got real quiet and then angry and left.

Great Video Chrissy as you spoke very well to highlight several of the situations that an Expat will face with his Filipina as we constantly have to try and see it from their point of view, as I see how hard my Filipina girlfriend tries so hard to be considerate of my feelings and constantly looks out to honor and take care of me which we are not used to from Western women. My girl doesn't act clingy in person as public displays of PDA but she will want to know where I am. I am blessed in the fact her family is so welcoming and wants to help me all the time as their constant efforts make it so joyful when i do something nice in exchange unrepentantly for them. So they helped me move and I bought dinner for everyone. And rather then just giving them money i do things for them such as one of their bathrooms was really out of date and as a former Plumbing contractor i decided it would be a nice Gesture for me to retile the bathroom myself, and I actually am teaching some of the sons and nephews some skills in being handy. I could have easily just paid for it but doing it myself put in actual blood, seat and tears using my skills. And I told her papa maybe he could teach me how to cook some of his favorite Filipino dishes as he is the main cook since he retired. So it is all a Loving give and take and knowing there are many differences but we can work with those to make it positive as my girl's first present to me was a Book on Filipino culture and the second was a shirt that says: "I Love the Philippines" and the second one was of the town from the most recent festival. Those gifts given on her limited budget mean so much as they touch my heart.

I have just started with a website called Christian Filipina and yes i would say you are so smart dear and thank you for sharing everything and i do not mean to generalize all of filiapinos or forgiveness This is a bit more difficult then i thought for many of the reasons you have mentioned. Very jealous is a problem and i think it has to deal with lacking self confidence and i try to help the ladies I am talking with but i can not help them from here so it makes it a challenge. I also see that they all say that they where cheated on by there last boyfriend and i do find that hard to believe not saying in a lot of cases it is but not all and i think the reason they say he cheated is because he just looked at another women or talked with another women. For example one of the first questions they may ask is if you have ever been to the phillipinens to make sure you are not a guy who is just out for fun. Or they do not want a leftover. Not exactly sure why this is but it is different. I also see that they are to nice and that does not allow them to tell you the truth try to avoid the topic or stop talking about it and I try to explain to them that if there is a problem let me know so we can talk about it not let it build up in you so you just get so mad and that’s is not good at all. I try but you can not teach that quick. I also see they like to play the victim card a lot saying how bad it is for them and please understand i know it may be tough for them and probably much worse then anything I have ever had to do in my life so i can understand. But if you want to build a relationship with someone you cant always focus on how bad you have it and focus more on what can be. Just my thoughts on that. They can also be very jealous if you do not respond to them within minutes of there message they will tampoo I think the word is towards you for just not responding quick enough or the question you get is what are you doing now lol. That cracks me up. I get it a lot if it takes me more then a minute to respond what are you doing now lol. I have to admire you so much Chrissy for being such a nice person and being there for rob and working toghether with him. I have watched most of your videos now and really like your content a lot I did not get. To reply to your video about single mothers and I wanted to because i raised my two daughters by myself and did not have any family around to help so I totally understand the meaning behind your other video and would hav no problem taking child as one of my own. I like that you communicate so well with Rob and that is great I try to explain to the women that is what i want but it is hard to explain it to them so they understand not that it is there fault it is just hard to explain in a way that they would understand. It’s important to set a budget together at the beginning of a relationship. It’s also important to discuss the “family” expectations and agree if it’s going to be part of the budget or not. If it’s not agree first and stick to the budget. If so inform the family so there is no misunderstanding.
I'm never to old to learn. And you are a good teacher. But I would like to learn "What a Filipino should know before she dates a foreigner?" You have those answers. And we foreigners have the solution if a problem exist.

Did not know about the feelings of mich sensitivity ( or overly sensitive - which some Americans have but a small minority) in the filipina culture. Nor the huge amount of patience. Great topics that are super important to expand and really try to understand as a foreigner ( ones who want a serious long term loving relationship)

some filipina wont ask for money in ldr but when you get there in person you find she mentions stuff that is in the pawn shop or money she owe that was borrowed asking and expecting you to pick up the tab. In fact she has borrowed money from a friend or relative saying she will pay it back when bf arrive .
language: the word bloody is a fairly common mild curse often used jokingly here in UK but I quickly found out in province its very bad meaning that you wanna fight and draw blood with someone

You are right Chrissy, not all Filipina`s are pretty, friendly and all the things what we hope to find in our future Partner..... BUT when you compare the Phillipines with the "west" you have a much much higher chance to find your better half. Set your Frame what you looking for and stay on it. Soon or later you will find it.
I came back from a 2 month holiday enjoyed it so much the people are wonderful. I met quite a few women over there, gorgeous and so friendly and yeah a few that see you as an ATM, does not take that much to work that out. But overall of course some will ask but its upto you. Me i only do that after our relationship is solid as for family support, no i am afraid not. I am there for her only. Great video thanks.

I went to the Philippines on Holidays in 1977 on holidays different areas, then Cebu did have any plans what so ever just to have a great holiday. It was it I fall in love with a very beautiful school teacher who had just started teaching. I was in police. Extended my leave by two week I asked her father could I have his permission to get engaged. Went back to Australia sold my car got loan three month later got Married in the Scared Heart Catholic Church in Cebu now after 47 years three adult children from young age to old age I thank God what I got. I know as an american, I don't really have enough patience. Just a way of growing up wanting things done more quickly as I always have a long list of things to do. Case in point, I watch YT videos at 125%, but todays video with Chrissy was 150%. You speak clearly and slow enough I'm sure for even your PH member to understand. Because this is not only a good thing to review with expats as much as it is for their significant other in the PH. Now the funny part, watch crh0issy do Zumba at 150%....LOL
Why not add Filipino audience by talking about things that can help people from the Philippines: Such as how to handle finances. What is true love (more than physical attraction). How to eat a healthy diet (fresh, lots of vegetables and fruits, and very small amount of fried food). How to train children. Things like positive reinforcement. It's important that from whatever country you come from, to discard the bad, and the learn the best things from each other. No country is all good. Each country has their good things and bad things. Similar with English traditional names... a guy would have 2 middle names from grandfathers, and a girl from grandmothers... and you see repeats... so looking at family records you can usually tell... This was resisted by my american-ex wife, so not all countries do this... So when I re-married, my daughter has this... This can go back hundreds of years, and what might seem outdated names, were trendy back then... I have a great great aunt, and her firstname is used back a long way..
Re : Filipinas who want to move and work in the west. Just before covid Duterete passed but legislation that said nursing school was free for poor students. I don't think it is implemented yet. But consider an RN who could make $50,000 per year. That's more than 25 of her working relatives combined. How can anyone possibly fault someone for wanting to live and work in the west. But,,, the problem is that the west eats your income : car payment, mortgage or rent (u will have to split the mortgage payment with your spouse), utilities, health insurance (costly here), man's hair cut/styling is $25, restaurant meal is around $30. Mechanics charge $150/hr.

Chrissy, the family interaction is isolated to the Philippines. I had the problem here in the State. My ex wife 15 years younger had 10 siblings. So I was seen as the oldest brother, the big brother, the one to fix a broken life. It's just life, it happens across the world not just in the Philippines.

He's mentally organized, quick, and highly intelligent. And that's just to survive in jet set high-inflation world of the U.S! Anyway, I've been thoroughly impressed by your demeanor, speech discipline, politeness, and respect. But, I could not read our last statement. The second listen I understood you to say "wanted", which paired with your voice tone, may be that you were just making a slight tongue-in-cheek comment.. [Rob can explain that meaning]. But as non-sensical hair splitting as this may seem, please make a clarification. You have to understand the time, energy, and financial stakes are high for a foreigner to come to the Philippines. A video ending statement, "you must think twice" in regard to wanting a Filipinia in your life, almost sounds like "are you crazy?" I'm sure that wasn't your meaning, but let us know. You have a lot of good points but the one that bothers me most here is most is the language barrier that she can talk behind your back in her own language and you’ll never know plus if you go to a party your always left out of the conversation since they ll talk amongst themselves in the own words 😊
Denis it’s true however very quickly you can develop a skill of knowing if they’re talking about you or not their language includes 20% English and 20% Spanish so if you speak some Spanish, you’re already almost halfway there
How would a Filipina feel if her foreign husbabd knew another language, such as German or Spanish, and he spoke that language rather than English when she was present and he was with another of his friends who also spoke that language. Wouldn't that make her feel suspicious?
My wife told me 2 interesting things I would love to know Chrissy’s opinion on. 1-Some Filipinas look down in judgement on another Filipina who tries to keep the conversation in English and accuses them of being arte (this is supposed to be a word for arrogant) 2-Some Filipinas are so shy that although they speak great English they are embarrassed to make a mistake and if they do, some Filipinas poke at them and try to correct their English in less than a sweet way.
The family even not eat with me because there afraid to speak English.. so I eat with my wife alone..but sure you have to help them in a emergency.. and sure I did…
Hi Chrissy, You should teach Rob the “personal questions” taxi drivers ask, that are clearly none of their business, so that “Rob” will know, what the driver is asking. Then, teach Rob how to respond, to the driver’s “nosy” questions, to put the driver in his place. I know Filipinos don’t like confrontation, but when they ask “nosy” questions, I’ll have no problem, telling them so, 😎😉.

When I met the young Filipina in 1973 who was to eventually become Mrs. Rick, we were both overseas in a country foreign to us. There were no other Filipinos around to provide company and fellowship. Her family was 8,000 miles away, and there was no way I could get to know them. Remember, this was far before the instant communication that the internet now provides. We dated for five months and then got married. I had no opportunity to learn about the Filipino community, culture, customs, food, or family relationships. I went into it totally blind, with the only Filipino I knew being the girl I was marrying. There were rough moments initially, and I had to learn the importance of rice at every meal to keep her somewhat happy. So far, we've made it through three kids, five grandkids, and five good decades. I anticipate many more great years together.

Speaking of mixed children, the truly fun part is when you get to the grandkids. At that point, the genes can bounce around and wind up in unexpected combinations. Our oldest grandchild has a lot of Irish in her, which gives her exceptionally fair skin and bright red hair. When Lola used to take care of her when she was a child, people would think that Mrs. Rick was her nanny instead of her grandmother. Perhaps Mrs. Rick had kidnapped the baby. Who knew? Our grandson has a Greek paternal grandfather with a dusky Mediterranean skin tone. Combined with the Filipino brown skin gene, it gives our grandson a somewhat unique skin tone that I've never seen on anybody else. Our middle child looks most like Mrs. Rick within the kids, and one of her daughters could fit in with all of her Filipino cousins back in the province perfectly. Her sister is very white-looking, and no one could tell she's one-quarter Asian. It's really a mixed bag with the five kids, and they all acknowledge and understand why that is so.

I want to address one thing you said about Philippino’s that want to leave there and go to like America and ohh get a job making a lot of money to send home to family!! WELL, you may make much more money in US BUT The cost of living there will Take just about all you make to live There!!!! That’s why about 95% of men that come to the Philippines is because even though they make good or Decent money in America, they are struggling to live there!!! So we are coming to the Philippines to live a more comfortable life without the stress of going to bed every night wondering how we’re going to pay the bills. I thought maybe you should be aware of this if you’re not already, and should give this information to your Philippines audience. Other your information to us wanting to come there is excellent.

Many there will mooch from anyone who they think can afford luxuries. I never really understood that. My father really hated that trait - putting your hand out. Working for it has always been how we are brought up in my family. But I suppose not everyone can gain full independence and autonomy there.

You cannot just give to one or two but expect you to give to all if in giving mood. LOL. So sometimes, just better not to give at all lest you want to offend one.
Don't forget about tampo a lot of foreigners can't handle the silent treatment but you have to learn to just give your Filipina time and most of the time I'll pass
Chrissy, I have heard of a new (to me) trait that Filipinas might posses.... violence, as in if a Filipina gets upset with you she might grab the closest object and throw it at you or hit you. Also that Spanking is a very common form of discipline for Filipinos and that this may contribute to the behavior. NOTE Qualifier: My father used to spank me (on rare occasion) and I believe it was for my best interest never in anger.... and that I am better for it. As far as the money goes, whether it's the Filipina herself, or if it's her family pushing her into asking for money, she and her family both got along just fine on their own before the foreigner came along. Whatever money we (foreigners) have is not just given to us. We worked hard all our lives to have that money, and we expect everyone else to work hard and earn their own money the same way we did. And we know that the Philippines does not do things the same way as whatever western country we came from, but the principle is still the same, at least in our minds. So, if a foreigner tells a Filipina NO when she asks for money for her family, that's why, and the Filipina needs to understand that about us.

I think the main thing is that the man needs to be a masculine confident leader who's happy to talk about things in advance and let the Filipina know what to expect in advance, for example he should be upfrom and say something like I'm willing to give your parents $100 a month but I wouldn't be comfortbable getting a lot of reqests for more money, do you think that would work for you and your parents? and then see how she reacts and what she says. But it would be huge mistake to wait until you're already dealing with multiple requests!!!

I support my immediate family but after that not so much. The point is money don't grow on trees so I keep telling my wife to borrow less and save more. She was helping everyone until she got scammed a couple of times. I hope she remembers to be more careful or borrow smaller amounts to reduce the loss. Many promise to pay back but borrowing is easier than paying back when you live poorly in the first place. Don't believe every emergency story you hear either, check things out. It is challenging when the culture is family centric and always in need.

My friend and I were entertaining some filipinas and they were talking to each other in tagalog and having a grand time. Then we sted talking in pig Latin and they got real quiet and then angry and left.

Great Video Chrissy as you spoke very well to highlight several of the situations that an Expat will face with his Filipina as we constantly have to try and see it from their point of view, as I see how hard my Filipina girlfriend tries so hard to be considerate of my feelings and constantly looks out to honor and take care of me which we are not used to from Western women. My girl doesn't act clingy in person as public displays of PDA but she will want to know where I am. I am blessed in the fact her family is so welcoming and wants to help me all the time as their constant efforts make it so joyful when i do something nice in exchange unrepentantly for them. So they helped me move and I bought dinner for everyone. And rather then just giving them money i do things for them such as one of their bathrooms was really out of date and as a former Plumbing contractor i decided it would be a nice Gesture for me to retile the bathroom myself, and I actually am teaching some of the sons and nephews some skills in being handy. I could have easily just paid for it but doing it myself put in actual blood, seat and tears using my skills. And I told her papa maybe he could teach me how to cook some of his favorite Filipino dishes as he is the main cook since he retired. So it is all a Loving give and take and knowing there are many differences but we can work with those to make it positive as my girl's first present to me was a Book on Filipino culture and the second was a shirt that says: "I Love the Philippines" and the second one was of the town from the most recent festival. Those gifts given on her limited budget mean so much as they touch my heart.

Well have to thank you Chrissy for another wonderful video. I have just started with a website called Christian Filipina and yes i would say you are so smart dear and thank you for sharing everything and i do not mean to generalize all of filiapinos or forgiveness This is a bit more difficult then i thought for many of the reasons you have mentioned. Very jealous is a problem and i think it has to deal with lacking self confidence and i try to help the ladies I am talking with but i can not help them from here so it makes it a challenge. I also see that they all say that they where cheated on by there last boyfriend and i do find that hard to believe not saying in a lot of cases it is but not all and i think the reason they say he cheated is because he just looked at another women or talked with another women. For example one of the first questions they may ask is if you have ever been to the phillipinens to make sure you are not a guy who is just out for fun. Or they do not want a leftover. Not exactly sure why this is but it is different. I also see that they are to nice and that does not allow them to tell you the truth try to avoid the topic or stop talking about it and I try to explain to them that if there is a problem let me know so we can talk about it not let it build up in you so you just get so mad and that’s is not good at all. I try but you can not teach that quick. I also see they like to play the victim card a lot saying how bad it is for them and please understand i know it may be tough for them and probably much worse then anything I have ever had to do in my life so i can understand. But if you want to build a relationship with someone you cant always focus on how bad you have it and focus more on what can be. Just my thoughts on that. They can also be very jealous if you do not respond to them within minutes of there message they will tampoo I think the word is towards you for just not responding quick enough or the question you get is what are you doing now lol. That cracks me up. I get it a lot if it takes me more then a minute to respond what are you doing now lol. I have to admire you so much Chrissy for being such a nice person and being there for rob and working toghether with him. I have watched most of your videos now and really like your content a lot I did not get. To reply to your video about single mothers and I wanted to because i raised my two daughters by myself and did not have any family around to help so I totally understand the meaning behind your other video and would hav no problem taking child as one of my own. I like that you communicate so well with Rob and that is great I try to explain to the women that is what i want but it is hard to explain it to them so they understand not that it is there fault it is just hard to explain in a way that they would understand. So this has been a big learning experience for me. I have sent a email to you saying I wanted to joined you program and look foward to doing so just have been overwhelmed with these women and trying to learn how to talk with them and make us understand each other better so i can see that being a issue to take care of as well. I do want to bring her back here to the usa and do not mind giving her a budget so she can spend as she needs or if she wants to work that works as well i am open to what will make her happy. I guess the other issue is just do not say anything that you learn from another Filipino to another one lady was calling me po and i ask why she said it was being polite so i started talking to another lady and she called me po and i told her no need to call me that just rob is fine she went off I thought you said you have never been to the Philippines and i was in shock i have never been but just knowing what a word is can trigger them a bit. It’s important to set a budget together at the beginning of a relationship. It’s also important to discuss the “family” expectations and agree if it’s going to be part of the budget or not. If it’s not agree first and stick to the budget. If so inform the family so there is no misunderstanding.

Did not know about the feelings of mich sensitivity ( or overly sensitive - which some Americans have but a small minority) in the filipina culture. Nor the huge amount of patience.

some filipina wont ask for money in ldr but when you get there in person you find she mentions stuff that is in the pawn shop or money she owe that was borrowed asking and expecting you to pick up the tab. I came back from a 2 month holiday enjoyed it so much the people are wonderful. I met quite a few women over there, gorgeous and so friendly and yeah a few that see you as an ATM, does not take that much to work that out. But overall of course some will ask but its upto you. I went to the Philippines on Holidays in 1977 on holidays different areas, then Cebu did have any plans what so ever just to have a great holiday. It was it I fall in love with a very beautiful school teacher who had just started teaching. I was in police. Extended my leave by two week I asked her father could I have his permission to get engaged. Went back to Australia sold my car got loan three month later got Married in the Scared Heart Catholic Church in Cebu now after 47 years three adult children from young age to old age I thank God what I got. I know as an american, I don't really have enough patience. Just a way of growing up wanting things done more quickly as I always have a long list of things to do. Case in point, I watch YT videos at 125%, but todays video with Chrissy was 150%. You speak clearly and slow enough I'm sure for even your PH member to understand. Because this is not only a good thing to review with expats as much as it is for their significant other in the PH.

Why not add Filipino audience by talking about things that can help people from the Philippines: Such as how to handle finances. What is true love (more than physical attraction). How to eat a healthy diet (fresh, lots of vegetables and fruits, and very small amount of fried food). How to train children. Things like positive reinforcement. It's important that from whatever country you come from, to discard the bad, and the learn the best things from each other. No country is all good. Each country has their good things and bad things. Similar with English traditional names... a guy would have 2 middle names from grandfathers, and a girl from grandmothers... and you see repeats... so looking at family records you can usually tell... This was resisted by my american-ex wife, so not all countries do this... So when I re-married, my daughter has this... This can go back hundreds of years, and what might seem outdated names, were trendy back then... I have a great great aunt, and her firstname is used back a long way..

Re : Filipinas who want to move and work in the west. Just before covid Duterete passed but legislation that said nursing school was free for poor students. I don't think it is implemented yet. But consider an RN who could make $50,000 per year. That's more than 25 of her working relatives combined. How can anyone possibly fault someone for wanting to live and work in the west. But,,, the problem is that the west eats your income : car payment, mortgage or rent (u will have to split the mortgage payment with your spouse), utilities, health insurance (costly here), man's hair cut/styling is $25, restaurant meal is around $30. Mechanics charge $150/hr.

Chrissy, the family interaction is isolated to the Philippines. I had the problem here in the State. My ex wife 15 years younger had 10 siblings. You have a lot of good points but the one that bothers me most here is most is the language barrier that she can talk behind your back in her own language and you’ll never know plus if you go to a party your always left out of the conversation since they ll talk amongst themselves in the own words 😊
Denis it’s true however very quickly you can develop a skill of knowing if they’re talking about you or not their language includes 20% English and 20% Spanish so if you speak some Spanish, you’re already almost halfway there
It's all about trust. Once you know that you can totally trust, that they have your best interests, then you don't have to worry anymore.
How would a Filipina feel if her foreign husbabd knew another language, such as German or Spanish, and he spoke that language rather than English when she was present and he was with another of his friends who also spoke that language. Wouldn't that make her feel suspicious?

My wife told me 2 interesting things I would love to know Chrissy’s opinion on. 1-Some Filipinas look down in judgement on another Filipina who tries to keep the conversation in English and accuses them of being arte (this is supposed to be a word for arrogant) 2-Some Filipinas are so shy that although they speak great English they are embarrassed to make a mistake and if they do, some Filipinas poke at them and try to correct their English in less than a sweet way.
The family even not eat with me because there afraid to speak English.. so I eat with my wife alone..but sure you have to help them in a emergency.. and sure I did…

You should teach Rob the “personal questions” taxi drivers ask, that are clearly none of their business, so that “Rob” will know, what the driver is asking. Then, teach Rob how to respond, to the driver’s “nosy” questions, to put the driver in his place.
I know Filipinos don’t like confrontation, but when they ask “nosy” questions, I’ll have no problem, telling them so, 😎😉.

When I met the young Filipina in 1973 who was to eventually become Mrs. Rick, we were both overseas in a country foreign to us. There were no other Filipinos around to provide company and fellowship. Her family was 8,000 miles away, and there was no way I could get to know them. Remember, this was far before the instant communication that the internet now provides. We dated for five months and then got married. I had no opportunity to learn about the Filipino community, culture, customs, food, or family relationships. I went into it totally blind, with the only Filipino I knew being the girl I was marrying. There were rough moments initially, and I had to learn the importance of rice at every meal to keep her somewhat happy. So far, we've made it through three kids, five grandkids, and five good decades. I anticipate many more great years together.

Speaking of mixed children, the truly fun part is when you get to the grandkids. At that point, the genes can bounce around and wind up in unexpected combinations. Our oldest grandchild has a lot of Irish in her, which gives her exceptionally fair skin and bright red hair. When Lola used to take care of her when she was a child, people would think that Mrs. Rick was her nanny instead of her grandmother. Perhaps Mrs. Rick had kidnapped the baby. Who knew? Our grandson has a Greek paternal grandfather with a dusky Mediterranean skin tone. Combined with the Filipino brown skin gene, it gives our grandson a somewhat unique skin tone that I've never seen on anybody else. Our middle child looks most like Mrs. Rick within the kids, and one of her daughters could fit in with all of her Filipino cousins back in the province perfectly. Her sister is very white-looking, and no one could tell she's one-quarter Asian. It's really a mixed bag with the five kids, and they all acknowledge and understand why that is so.

I want to address one thing you said about Philippino’s that want to leave there and go to like America and ohh get a job making a lot of money to send home to family!! WELL, you may make much more money in US BUT The cost of living there will Take just about all you make to live There!!!! That’s why about 95% of men that come to the Philippines is because even though they make good or Decent money in America, they are struggling to live there!!! So we are coming to the Philippines to live a more comfortable life without the stress of going to bed every night wondering how we’re going to pay the bills. I thought maybe you should be aware of this if you’re not already, and should give this information to your Philippines audience. Other your information to us wanting to come there is excellent.

In the Philippines my wife gets hold of the money and she pays for everything because she knows the price a service.. in this way we build in 3 years a house… I wanted to retire in the Philippines, but got a kidney problem and now I am 3 times a weak on dialysis and can not afford that I n the Philippines

Many there will mooch from anyone who they think can afford luxuries. I never really understood that. My father really hated that trait - putting your hand out. Working for it has always been how we are brought up in my family. But I suppose not everyone can gain full independence and autonomy there.

You cannot just give to one or two but expect you to give to all if in giving mood. LOL. So sometimes, just better not to give at all lest you want to offend one.
Don't forget about tampo a lot of foreigners can't handle the silent treatment but you have to learn to just give your Filipina time and most of the time I'll pass

Chrissy, I have heard of a new (to me) trait that Filipinas might posses.... violence, as in if a Filipina gets upset with you she might grab the closest object and throw it at you or hit you. Also that Spanking is a very common form of discipline for Filipinos and that this may contribute to the behavior. NOTE Qualifier: My father used to spank me (on rare occasion) and I believe it was for my best interest never in anger.... and that I am better for it. Anyway, have you heard that it's 'common place' for Filipinas to be physical when angry. Really good episode, but you passed up golfing?? I thought you liked golfing. Peace and Love, B Goat
