Congrats! We love the CT6, and we're always happy when we see them out here. Not many albeit, but we've spotted about a half dozen over the past few months. We're really looking forward to try out the 2019 model!
I am a Cadillac guy, having said that I think the Cadillac looks so classy on the road, I have 2017 CTS 2.0t awd, just a phenomenal ride. My days of driving fast are over but when I need speed the car responds
We thought so too until we started mistaking the front end of the new CTS and XTS for this car. Much like BMW though, everyone is going for shared designs throughout their model lineups. We do like the look of the Cadillac though, fewer of them exist which makes them a little more rare.

cadillac is junk. simple as that. for people to find it more attactive is mindbogling. inside it looks like cheap opel corsa with ipad attached on the seats. outside it looks like cheap mazda. probably the quality is the same as it looks. cheap and bad. for someone to call cadillac a luxury car ... what a joke. american workforce is expensive, that's why this car is so expensive. if it was made in europe it would go into middle class pricing at 25000€. also forgot to mention, you won't see cadillac designers measure sound levels when pressing buttons or opening the doors or whatever is moved in the cabin. that's just the touch detail you americans don't get into.
If I were to keep one of those vehicles forever , I’d chose the Cadillac because it would outlast that bmw by a million miles. The bmw would fall apart once it gets to be nearly 10 years old
We still really like the CT6 and are excited to see what they plan to do with it down the road. The new V-Sport announcement also is seriously exciting!
BrendenAerosmith Farr I can’t even begin to explain how accurate your comment is. I have literally seen with my own two eyes how my dad went through hell after the transmission in his 2008 X3 malfunctioned so he replaced it with an X5 that currently has the same issue. 🤦🏽♂️
Glad to hear it! We really enjoyed the CT6, and were lucky to get it again a couple months ago for a longer road trip with it. We're looking forward to be able to feature the facelift 2019 model!
I drove both and bought the CTS-vsport over the BMW competitor in their class because the Caddy is MUCH faster and handles INCOMPARABLY better. These cars have switched places; the Caddy is the HOT driver and the BMW is the luxury boat. Absolutely bizarre.
It’s just really disappointing Cadillac is dropping all their sedans and going for crossovers and SUVs. They had the right products, they just needed the right marketing to get people to buy them.
That's definitely true. We wanted to include both prices, since our Showdown episode on the BMW X3 and Mazda CX-5 didn't take new cars for both comparisons, and we didn't do that here either. But you're right, the BMW is significantly more when new.
I drove both of these cars and the Cadillac is just amazing for it's price. Remember the CT6 doesn't compete with the 7 series. It's more like in between 7 and 5 series. And it's just a bargain both from the looks and also the interior. I would take this caddy any day!
Price-wise the CT6 is going to be more, and really for the power the E 43 AMG seems to be the closest, but the CT6 is in the full-size segment despite what GM want's it to compete with.
We certainly hope so! The summer GM press fleet has another 2018 CT6 being swapped in for this one, but we're hoping by next year to see the V-Sport show up and feature it!
We're hoping to get a chance to feature that version. We do love the CT6 though, we're picking it up again on Monday to film some more content with it.
We certainly hope Cadillac still plans on releasing their longer CT8, I think there's a market for a car like that considering how popular long wheelbase models of the 7 Series and S-Class are.
BMWs are remarkable vehicles. The only thing I fancy in the Cadillac is the 32 Bose speakers and the Android Auto. Americans are always proud of their product..... It's expected just look at Apple. But you must be nuts to say the 2017 BMW is boring. That thing is a master piece and so is the S class. Honestly, the Cadillac should not be compared to this 7 series, it's a mismatch. I was at Hyundai Queens last week and I was handed a leaflet of the G90, they had the balls to compare the G90 to the S Class and 7 series.
I think it's hard for anything to compete with the S-Class in reality. We have the 2018 BMW M760Li booked in a couple weeks, it doesn't really compete with the S 600 or S 65 AMG.
Or price! The S65 AMG is $100k more than the M760Li, and the S 600 seems to have been replaced with the equally as expensive S 650 Maybach. We're going to try to do something fun and unique with the M760Li, but no Showdown comparison.
Absolutely! The weather is probably nicer down there already, it's still snowing up here. But let me know when you're thinking and we can start making plans on our end!
The CT6 has all-wheel drive, without the transverse engine. Different modes allocate more power to the front. In performance mode most of the power is from the rear, I believe 80%. Also, rear wheels are steerable on the CT6, and they turn different ways depending upon your speed. The magnetic ride is very smooth. The Omega platform is the latest in GM design, and allows for a light vehicle despite the size, but the magnetic ride control gives it a solid feel. These are important points that I thought you might bring up. Perhaps the BMW has similar features? I just bought a low mileage used 2017 Platinum twin turbo CT-6, and I am very pleased with it. Years ago I had a CTS-V that I also loved, but this feels like a much bigger car still with lots of sport to go along with it. After I drive it a while I may move up the the twin turbo V-8 in a year or two, but the V-6 has plenty of go. Love the Caddy, but that's not to say that the BMW isn't also really nice.
We went over more of the individual features of the CT6 on the standalone episode of TestDrive Spotlight on it, we try to focus on the differences between the vehicles during our Showdown episodes just for time. Though we did miss some key elements of the CT6 episode we did, and have a 2019 booked for the new year, so we're planning to go over everything we should have the first time.
Between these two, the CT6's 36-speaker Bose Panaray system is phenomenal, especially compared with the 'base' harman/kardon system on this specific 750Li. Now to be fair we don't consider ourselves audiophiles, but we still preferred the Cadillac's system over the Bowers & Wilkins system on the M760Li.
No not for 100k but I bought an expensive one. And even thought it was much cheaper than 100k the cash wasn't the issue and I went for something I liked rather than cheapest stuff.
Cadillac has had their own troubles with this car so far, but nothing fire related as far as we can tell. Any full-size luxury car is bound to have issues down the road.
I am a car dealer ! I have many personal vehicles. From Cadillac, merc , Lexus, to Maserati. Hands Down The Most Reliable Cadillac! Cadillac the most smoothest ! Most value for money ! I also have a old 2005 dhs ! & a 04 s500 . Hands down ! Even with the bad northstar . Cadillac wins !
Cadillac gives you way more dependability now especially from what it used to and way more dependability then BMW! Past Cadillacs were terrible and made big mistakes which consumers made Cadillac pay for by not going back into the dealerships to check out what they have new! BMWs depreciate more than anyone else! The cost of repairing a BMW is far higher than just about anyone else on the market! If you take reliability and content the Cadillac ct-6 is a superior car! I own a BMW and trust me it is not a reliable vehicle and it is new I won't buy another
We've had some issues with this CT6 actually, it's parked in our garage with 3 major system faults and will be going back to the dealership tomorrow morning and likely retired from the press fleet here in Montreal because of it. It's hard to say if it's a widespread issue though, since we imagine the press cars get driven harder than your average buyer would.
Cadillac looks a lot more appealing, probably more reliable, meaning less trips to the dealerships. I have heard horrific stories about customer experiences at BMW dealerships..🤔I'd take the Caddy.
We did have some issues with this CT6 a few months later, so it's hard to say for sure which would ultimately be the most reliable without a lot more data from customers.
Obviously you know absolutely NOTHING about cars. Cadillac has been at the BOTTEM of the JD Power reliability scale for years. BMWs are, for the most part, extremely reliable, but very, very, very expensive to maintain, giving them a bad reputation when someone who can't afford a BMW bought a used one with 100k Miles and had 5 different parts go and couldn't pay for it. BMW service is OUTSTANDING, much better then Audi. I know from experience, my dad has had outstanding service on his BMW ever since he bought it. If you go online you can hear "horrific stories" about any brand's service.
Dude this was a truly fair and complete review...for the most part. You really spoke to the positives and negatives of both while honestly considering cost benefit. Very good review. That is coming from someone that has owned over 40 cars most of which were Euros.
We really appreciate that, thanks! We wanted to make sure we got as much right as possible. We would have preferred a 2018 750i but we took what we could get. We're hoping to have more opportunities like this to feature top-end cars and pair them against each other.
Perpetual Radio Networks you did the best with what you had. I honestly think this entire review from beginning to end was perfect. This is coming from someone who loves both these vehicles. Almost glad you couldn’t get a 2018 750i in fear of how it may have changed the perfection of this particular video. Very nicely done! 👍🏽
I’ll take the Cadillac ct6 v sport model. The bmw 7il was always my favorite but CADILLAC is truly coming around with so much technology and available power with all wheel drive for any type of weather
Thanks! We really liked the Cadillac, we're picking it up again in a couple weeks, hoping to film something with it again now that we've done the 7 Series.
Perpetual Radio Networks I'm pretty sick of V6 engines in Luxury cars now. Didn't think Lincoln and Cadillac would do such a bad thing especially when a V8 is just as efficient.
Ford and GM have V8s in performance cars and trucks. You'd need to retask one of the two and neither would provide the fuel economy and refinement of a Twin Turbo V6. And they are much more versatile at this point.
Not that I know of, but I also haven't researched it. I believe in Europe and Japan the manufacturers don't restrict video while driving, so there's a chance it's possible to program these cars in North America to do it.
That would definitely be a good Showdown! We'll see about getting the 2019 CT6, a new 2018 model has been added to the press fleet out here but I don't think there's much use in use having it for a third go.
My 2018 CT6 has ambient lighting. It’s very similar to what the 2016 E class has, but it’s only one color. It’s a nice relaxing blueish whitish color, honestly I probably would have chose something similar to it if I had the option to change it.
We've driven a few other cars with basic ambient lighting like the CT6 has, something like the 2018 Kia Stinger GT we're publishing tomorrow has basic ambient lighting, but nothing extravagant.
Perpetual Radio Networks it’s nothing extravagant, you’re right. But I feel like it fits the whole understated tone of the CT6. The car has a lot more than what it lets on by its appearance, and the lighting just emphasizes that fact. It’s classy, and not overbearing. Would I prefer the 64 colors of the 2018 E class, or even the 3 colors of my previous 17 c coupe? Hell yeah! But do I feel like I missing out? Not really. Had they gone with a different color, my opinion might be a bit different.
Fair enough! We're really looking forward to try out the 2019 model. GM Canada just did a large press event last weekend with the 2018 models to show off the super cruise control, so we're hoping that means they've got some 2019s ready to roll out within the next quarter or so.
That really is the question, right? Both are going to lose value quickly, any large luxury car will. The BMW might lose a larger percentage over the Cadillac, but the CT6 will likely still be more affordable.
Everyone's going to have a different opinion as to what boring is, while we like a lot of the tech the BMW has, we really love the way the Cadillac looks. We have it again this week, and it's a real head-turner.
Don Boss very few buy a car they’re not happy with solely because it’s different. A car being exclusive or something uncommonly seen on the road is usually just icing on the cake. Fact is the CT6 is a great alternative whether many other people are driving them or not.
We like the look of it, the interior definitely is impressive though. We'd love to get it for a week and see how those interior lights work at night, they really put the mood lighting in our 2001 7 Series to shame.
We're hoping to have our graphics re-done sometime this year once we can budget it in. We'll do our best to expand the information we can fit into them so we can include more details.
Mostly because I’ve never driven one, so I can’t really compare or speak to a car I haven’t driven. Hoping to get the chance to feature some of the older Audi models though!
Glad you liked it, thanks! We were hoping to get the CT6 lined up again with the Lexus LS 500 or Hyundai Genesis G90 however neither car were available when we had the Cadillac again.
Always get a warranty! The long-term on the CT6 is still iffy since they didn't sell a tonne of them. It's a car I'd certainly be interested in for myself.
@@PRNTestDrive That's good to hear. I know someone with an Escalade and they love it. Cadillac gives you better reliability than a German car with most of the same features for half the price.
For this generation we couldn't say to be honest, there's not much info to go on compared with the older cars we feature where we can talk about maintenance and reliability concerns.
I will take the Cadillac' about time Cadillac bring back a real full size sedan! it's only about 2 inches shorter then my 05 Buick Park Avenue and basically just about the same size! Cadillac here I come to even though I'm keeping my Buick'😂
+Perpetual Radio Networks 05' Buick Park Avenue 207"L X 75" W X 57"H 3,778 lbs 20city/30hwy 18"Cadillac CT6 204" L X 74"X W X 58"H 3,925 lbs18city/27 hwy 18'BMW750Li 205" L X 75"W X 59"H 4,641lbs 16city/25hwy Sir' this was based on a base model Park Avenue. The Park Avenue Ultra model 3,884 lbs 19city/29hwy. Both CT6 and 750Li weight more then both of the Park Avenue models
Perpetual Radio Networks but I’ve rented an XTS a couple times and have been very surprised! Once I had the first one for a few day and made myself familiar with CUE, I was lovin it! Other than FWD I found them very nice driving, that road and handled well! But big!
Terrence Banton not very reliable man. When I got mine I was so happy the first couple of days. I loved that car. But after a few days, things started breaking literally every single day and I was going broke fixing this car so I had to get rid of it.
Any car can have a discount, it’s up to your negotiation and the dealership you go to. This Cadillac is a new model, so we can only compare it at full MSRP like any other review we do, but since the BMW is a year older we wanted to cover all our bases.
I thought they stopped Making the shorter body style version of this 7 series car & was just making all of them Long wheel based... I never knew why BmW did that I thought it was always a waste to do that, just make all BmW 7s long wheel based... I'm looking all over for a 2017-2019 BMW 750 LI Series but it don't say LI on it it just says I does that mean it's a shorter version Did they only make 1 version for that bodystye years.????
For some reason BMW USA dropped the short wheelbase 7 Series from their lineup, while also dropping the L designation on the vehicles. In Canada they still offer a short and long for the G11/G12.
PRN_TestDrive ok thanks 🙏🏾 but the cars that I'm seeing the 750i & 740i xdrives those are still long wheel based right but it just don't say L it on the back right ??
If I must spend $100K, I'll take the Cadillac and use the leftover change on car insurance/gas. If cost wasn't an issue,...I'll take the Caddy. Unlike the BMW, the Caddy will be reliable. With the 7 series, the BMW mechanic will see the car more then I would drive it.
We wouldn't necessarily say the Cadillac is more reliable. We took this exact same CT6 on a 2,000km road trip this week, it's just under 14,000km and the super cruise control system and parking systems have both failed and need service.
Cadillac a whole different beast man Super agressive design...feels like a concept car The bimmer might be faster and come with more tech features but is overpriced.
Both cars have heritage designed into them. While we definitely love the look of the Cadillac, if you park next to a mid 2000s DTS or STS you can see some of the same design cues still carried over to the CT6. It's not necessarily a bad thing though.
We picked the Cadillac at the end of the video, and the Cadillac is still the one we’d buy today even after driving the M760Li. How am I biased towards BMW again?
It would have been nice to get the Cadillac in a color. Black doesn't show off the interior of cars. BMW's design is conservative so maybe they should go in the direction of the concept i4. Time to make a change.
That BMW seems like a SERIOUS SERIOUS car, sits higher off the ground than the CT6,I would pick that BMW,top notch review once again, you definitely know your vehicles...
The 7 Series is serious, that’s for sure! We loved having the M760Li a few months after filming this. Different cars for different buyers, were disappointed the CT6 is dead after this year.
I like the Cadillac but carbon does not go with wood, and the plastics and switch gear/dash just looks so cheap and gm. You can’t beat the Bmw for premium feel imo
That was something we mentioned in our Spotlight on the CT6, there's a lot of material being used throughout that can make the interior feel too busy. It might work for some people, but we figured the traditional full-size luxury car buyer isn't going to be very interested in 5 different materials making up their dashboard.
Good video. Looking to buy a new ride. My 750 was totaled in an accident. Was looking at a CT6 maybe its me, I like it a lot but the ambient lighting is looking more and more like a deal breaker
I really prefer the interior and outerior design of the CT6. Don't need all this stuff and engine performance. Is GM not selling a less powerful and smaller version of the Ct6? I'm getting tired of all the BMWs here in Germany.
GM does sell a less powerful engine for this, absolutely! You could get the 3.6L naturally aspirated V6 at the Platinum trim, as well as a 2.0L turbo with rear-wheel only, and a plug-in hybrid version.
I like your videos but I was disappointed that you did not notice the huge different in the way transmission acts between the 2 cars, I tried a lot of the Cadillac's and other American cars and they seem like just cant figure out how to make the gear changes need to be timed when you need it.
We didn't have that experience with the CT6, but we also didn't drive the 750Li for long enough to really get a proper feel for the transmission. The M760Li we have right now certainly shifts smoothly, but there's no comparison with that car.
"The only excuse for excessive price is outrageous performance." Enzo Ferrari said that, and the CT6 doesn't measure up to the Bimmer, being around a second slower to 60, and slower in the 1/4 mi as well.
That's crazy how expensive it is! Is the 730i/740i sold there at a more competitive price? We've heard a lot over the past few years that China is a huge market now for Cadillac.
only limousine version. 730li (700k~800k) 740li(900k~1100k) RMB . in 2017 Audi sold 597866, BMW 594388, Benz 597868, Cadillac 175489 is the 4th place among luxury brand cars .then jaguarlandrover 146399 ,Lexus 132864 .....
That's still very expensive for those cars! I can't believe it. It's interesting that only the long wheelbase version is offered, they do the same in North America with the V12 models, only offering the long versions.
Ask anyone who's ever owned a BMW and they will say the same thing: "The car is in the repair shop more than it's in my driveway". Cadillac has a superior reputation in that respect.
These modern computer and electric filled systems worry me. I would not be comfortable owing them past the warranty phase. So what are they going to be worth at the end of that time??
Very true, and it's one of the reasons why flagship sedans like the S-Class and 7 Series end up selling for a lot less once their warranty has expired.
That's how it is for pretty much every car on earth, the next is always going to be better. We've seen some of the info about the 2019 CT6 and it looks promising!
We don't have the 740Li here in Canada, we get the 740e which would probably be best suited for the PHEV version of the CT6 which unfortunately won't be made available on our press fleet here.
We really get limited options unfortunately, it's too bad. The first 7 Series offered with a diesel here was the 2014 740Ld, and they killed it off when they launched the G11/G12 the following year.
From a fellow BMW owner (2008 328xi)I would never buy a BMW after 2011, they're all made in america now. I can no longer look at the BMW as a foreign car anymore. It loses lots of points because of that.
I believe the X Series SUVs have been built in the US since launch, and the 3 Series now in Mexico, but the 7 Series is still built in Dingolfing where they've always assembled the 7s.
The same could be said about the 7 Series looking like a 5er, but the CTS/XTS/CT6 all have a very familiar design, I often confused them when I see them on the road, especially the XTS.
Thanks for the response. I've noticed the LX 570 is covered a lot more, I didn't think it's not offered in Canada. I'm looking forwards to hearing your thoughts on the car.
I know a lot of the journalists go for the high end cars, much more fun driving a fully loaded Lexus than a base model Kia, but we try to get a good range of them. I don't know why we don't get the Land Cruiser here, maybe the market is too small for Toyota to bother with.
I know very little about the Canadian car market; is Toyota not very popular? I wanted to see the V8 especially, because they're INSANELY rare in the UK. I've lived here for 10 years, and I've seen, collectively, around 10 LC V8s. The Brits tend to gravitate towards their beloved Range Rovers -.-
BMW and Mercedes are some of the worst for re-sale value. Older M cars have certainly shot up in price recently, but something like the 7 Series depreciates like crazy. In the world of the rich, only the newest and best is in vogue, once it's a couple years old it's time to move on.
The reason the BMWs depreciate this fast (like the other Germans) is because out of warranty they really cost a lot of money. Cadillacs... havent owned one long enough to know how expensive they are to maintain.
That really is the question. Hard to say, since actual sold data on used cars is hard to come by, but we know this specific 750Li sold for around $92,000.
Hey PRN, if you would be interested, and don't mind flying, you could definitely do a review on my 2013 Cadillac ATS 2.0T with a manual. Seeing your objectivity and professionalism here, I think you'd be the best host to let people know about a little known car!
We'd certainly be interested if the opportunity comes up! Depending on where you are of course, we're hoping to do a US tour at some point, likely in 2019 when we can get the time to plan everything.
I bought ct6 4 months ago my first ever luxurious car at the age of 40 and I’m pleasantly surprised I got used to it pretty quick love it
Congrats! We love the CT6, and we're always happy when we see them out here. Not many albeit, but we've spotted about a half dozen over the past few months. We're really looking forward to try out the 2019 model!
The Cadillac ct6 is a nice luxury car but the color grey has to go🤢🤮
I am a Cadillac guy, having said that I think the Cadillac looks so classy on the road, I have 2017 CTS 2.0t awd, just a phenomenal ride. My days of driving fast are over but when I need speed the car responds
I really liked the CT6, it's a shame GM killed it for the North American market.
I'll take the CT6, the show stopper.
We're hoping we can get our hands on the 2019 facelift CT6!
I'll take that caddie ain't nothing on the road that looks like it got that style fresh
We thought so too until we started mistaking the front end of the new CTS and XTS for this car. Much like BMW though, everyone is going for shared designs throughout their model lineups. We do like the look of the Cadillac though, fewer of them exist which makes them a little more rare.
My son says the Caddy's with their front LED light bar signature look like a Decepticon from a Transformer movie, haha.
That’s certainly an interesting take on it, I’ll admit though I’ve never seen a single Transformers movie.

BMW suck
Hard to pick but I would go Cadillac love the sound of it’s V6.
That twin turbo V6 setup is pretty nice, I think it would surprise a lot of people how quick it is.
Bobby Kuntz bmw have v8
The 2019 CT6 V-Sport gets a 550 hp / 627 ft/lbs of torque 4.2 litre twin turbo V8!
cadillac is junk. simple as that. for people to find it more attactive is mindbogling. inside it looks like cheap opel corsa with ipad attached on the seats. outside it looks like cheap mazda. probably the quality is the same as it looks. cheap and bad. for someone to call cadillac a luxury car ... what a joke. american workforce is expensive, that's why this car is so expensive. if it was made in europe it would go into middle class pricing at 25000€.

Korencek ... Are all Europeans as stupid as you?
I already bought the CT6 Cadillac and I'm loving it day by day... it's an awesome american luxury car
Glad to hear it! We really enjoyed the CT6, and were lucky to get it again a couple months ago for a longer road trip with it. We're looking forward to be able to feature the facelift 2019 model!
I own a xts and it is an absolute lady magnet
I'll take the Caddy.. BMW's design(inside and out) seems to never change.
We liked the Cadillac quite a bit too.
Dont change what aint broke :p bmw all tbe way
You would only choose the Caddy on price. If you drove both you’d take the Beamer.
The BMW will make you look way cooler while you're in the service drive every month for whatever has gone wrong that month.
LOL!
CT6 all day. BMW new, not the demo cost way more. Also, maintenance package. BMW not as attractive.
Yeah I think the CT8 is coming soon
I would prefer the Cadillac.
We definitely enjoyed the drive of the Cadillac. We're really excited to see the 2019 facelift in person.
Perpetual Radio Networks nice so the Cadillac would be the best choice.
There's going to be a different 'best' choice for everyone, but the Cadillac is the one we'd buy if we had the money.
Perpetual Radio Networks I totally agree with you!
Perpetual Radio Networks And the Cadillac looks more spacious.
review of the 2019 CT6 V-sport in the future?
We certainly hope so! The summer GM press fleet has another 2018 CT6 being swapped in for this one, but we're hoping by next year to see the V-Sport show up and feature it!
Comeback after the CT6 has the recently announced 4.2 TT V8
We're hoping to get a chance to feature that version. We do love the CT6 though, we're picking it up again on Monday to film some more content with it.
It will be a CT8
There will be a CT6 with TT V8. Additionally in the future there may be a longer CT8 with the TT V8.
We certainly hope Cadillac still plans on releasing their longer CT8, I think there's a market for a car like that considering how popular long wheelbase models of the 7 Series and S-Class are.
The 2019 CT6 V-Sport gets a 550 hp / 627 ft/lbs of torque 4.2 litre double overhead cam twin turbo V8!
Perpetual Radio Networks doesn't compete in engineering/ engine refinement / ride quality or physical appearance.
Or price! The S65 AMG is $100k more than the M760Li, and the S 600 seems to have been replaced with the equally as expensive S 650 Maybach. We're going to try to do something fun and unique with the M760Li, but no Showdown comparison.
Ifeanyi Ikemefuna the G90 is probably a good bargain though! Big & luxurious
We continue to hear nothing but great things about Genesis!
Still interested in taking a look at my 2006 z4 3.0si roadster? We can meet up in Burlington this summer maybe!
Perpetual Radio Networks ok. Great. I look forward to it.
Which one has the better premium sound system?
Between these two, the CT6's 36-speaker Bose Panaray system is phenomenal, especially compared with the 'base' harman/kardon system on this specific 750Li. Now to be fair we don't consider ourselves audiophiles, but we still preferred the Cadillac's system over the Bowers & Wilkins system on the M760Li.
So, I'll save around 34k with the Cadillac? Like, I can also buy an ATS for my son, too?
There ya go! Two cars for the price of one, can't go wrong with that.
yesssss very good point!!!
Because everyone counts money when they spend 100k on cars......
@@beating2 you've never sold a car before, have you....
No not for 100k but I bought an expensive one. And even thought it was much cheaper than 100k the cash wasn't the issue and I went for something I liked rather than cheapest stuff.
If money was no object S-Class. If on budge, get a base CT6
We're hoping to be able to get the S-Class down the road!
i feel u and good answer
S CLASS is KING,PERIOD...
Unlike the BMW, the Cadillac won't spontaneously catch on 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 👍
Cadillac has had their own troubles with this car so far, but nothing fire related as far as we can tell. Any full-size luxury car is bound to have issues down the road.
TheLion415 It it will spontaneously depreciate in value to $12,000 in 6 years
2018 BMW 7 series catch's on fire ??
Thumbs up 6 months later no other bmws caught on fire lmao

I am a car dealer ! I have many personal vehicles. From Cadillac, merc , Lexus, to Maserati. Hands Down The Most Reliable Cadillac! Cadillac the most smoothest ! Most value for money ! I also have a old 2005 dhs ! & a 04 s500 . Hands down ! Even with the bad northstar . Cadillac wins !
Very nice! Those early-to-mid 2000s Cadillacs are really nice.
Perpetual Radio Networks can you say what issues y’all experienced?
Never had a problem with my 750i
@Malcolm M Yep and very costly...
@@kiickinballistics What yr,how many miles and how long have you had it???
Cadillac looks a lot more appealing, probably more reliable, meaning less trips to the dealerships. I have heard horrific stories about customer experiences at BMW dealerships..🤔I'd take the Caddy.
We did have some issues with this CT6 a few months later, so it's hard to say for sure which would ultimately be the most reliable without a lot more data from customers.
Perpetual Radio Networks What issues were you guys having?
Full size luxury sedan! Yes!!!
We can't get enough of them, we'd love to be able to feature more full size luxury sedans.
I’ll take the Cadillac ct6 v sport model. The bmw 7il was always my favorite but CADILLAC is truly coming around with so much technology and available power with all wheel drive for any type of weather
We're pretty excited to be able to try out that V Sport CT6!
Question is: Which one will be at the junk yard (err...recycling facility) first.
Only time will tell.
@@PRNTestDrive Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
had a BMW was always in the shop, now have a CT6 3.0TT Platinum..love it nothing sounds like the 3.0 under acceleration!
Congrats on the purchase! We love the CT6, wish we saw more of them on the road.
Behind the wheel. How tall are you? What are your driver seat positions?
I'm 6 foot, I typically put any car I'm driving as low as the seat will go.
Caddy is very impressive looking.... Great review as always......☺
Thanks! We really liked the Cadillac, we're picking it up again in a couple weeks, hoping to film something with it again now that we've done the 7 Series.
Perpetual Radio Networks
I'm pretty sick of V6 engines in Luxury cars now.
Citroen xm is better !
Какие покрышки на автомобилях ?
The BMW would have had it's stock all season tires, and the CT6 had some winter tires, however we don't normally make a note of them.
Cadillac all day long for me, and I’m AUDI owner so absolutely no German privilege here!
Same here, we've got an older 7 Series but really love the way the Cadillac looks and drives. It's unique!
My mom sez caddies are cheap shit compared to bmw and she's right
Can you break that video lock in cars yet? Anyway to view media while driving yet?
Not that I know of, but I also haven't researched it. I believe in Europe and Japan the manufacturers don't restrict video while driving, so there's a chance it's possible to program these cars in North America to do it.
Cadillac All Day!!!!!
Great choice!
You guys need to do a comparison between that CT6 Platinum & 2018 S450 4Matic fully-loaded
That would definitely be a good Showdown! We'll see about getting the 2019 CT6, a new 2018 model has been added to the press fleet out here but I don't think there's much use in use having it for a third go.
Awesome vid...
It is indeed a great time to be alive!
We definitely agree! We're getting the CT6 again, and think this new V-Sport version is going to be incredibly interesting.
Perpetual Radio Networks looking forward to it...
I choose Cadillac over the bmw because it is not only a fabulous vehicle, it is made in north america
We love the Cadillac too, and definitely helps if you want to support something that's assembled in the US.
North America you mean Mexico and Canada?
@@fadilto no caddies are made in michigan
My question is how tough is it to which one depreciate in value the fastest
That really is the question, right? Both are going to lose value quickly, any large luxury car will. The BMW might lose a larger percentage over the Cadillac, but the CT6 will likely still be more affordable.
BMW is nice but boring AF! Everyone has one. I’ll take the caddi
Everyone's going to have a different opinion as to what boring is, while we like a lot of the tech the BMW has, we really love the way the Cadillac looks. We have it again this week, and it's a real head-turner.
1fnfigi literally every one that’s why I bought cadilac CT6
Yes of course everyone has a BMW 7 series that cost +100k :)
tony
Don Boss very few buy a car they’re not happy with solely because it’s different. A car being exclusive or something uncommonly seen on the road is usually just icing on the cake. Fact is the CT6 is a great alternative whether many other people are driving them or not.
Cadillac has never been a compromise. Not their fault if you can't afford the top of the line.
k
BMW looks good
We like the look of it, the interior definitely is impressive though. We'd love to get it for a week and see how those interior lights work at night, they really put the mood lighting in our 2001 7 Series to shame.
The BMW looked clean inside and out, they could've cleaned the Caddy especially the inside for this comparison.
I'm sorry you felt the Cadillac was dirty, it's hard keeping something clean on the inside when we have perpetual snowfall and muddy conditions.
No mention of the massive difference in curb weight or handling/driving dynamics?
To be fair it's hard to talk about handling/driving dynamics when the BMW we had was running on summer tires in the middle of winter, and low on fuel.
Should include the weight of each car w/ all the specs.
Colin Stuart BMW - 4,502lbs Cadillac - 4,385
We're hoping to have our graphics re-done sometime this year once we can budget it in. We'll do our best to expand the information we can fit into them so we can include more details.
Bobby Kuntz your numbers are way off.
Servant of JESUS CHRIST Really then how much do they weigh??
Bobby Kuntz the ct6 weighs less than the cts. 3600 to 3800 pounds. The BMW weighs around 4600 pounds
Good day man...im wondering why never you mention the audi a8 cars in the compare between german cars...hope to see those videos soon
Mostly because I’ve never driven one, so I can’t really compare or speak to a car I haven’t driven. Hoping to get the chance to feature some of the older Audi models though!
PRN_TestDrive me too...hope u can get an audi a8 model 2007 and above...definitely jason statham will be interested to watch that video

Unfortunately nothing's been done with the 7 Series since our last video on it. We're hoping we can work on some of the issues this summer.
BMW for sure!
Great choice!
Great idea for a Review. Very enjoyable mash-up. Thanks so much.
Glad you liked it, thanks! We were hoping to get the CT6 lined up again with the Lexus LS 500 or Hyundai Genesis G90 however neither car were available when we had the Cadillac again.
Caddy wins 💪
We continue to be impressed with Cadillac's vehicles! We're driving the 2018 XT5 Platinum right now and absolutely love it.
I’m anxious to buy the CarMax CT6. My last BMW 7 series was nothing but electrical problems; suspension issues and would leak oil.
Always get a warranty! The long-term on the CT6 is still iffy since they didn't sell a tonne of them. It's a car I'd certainly be interested in for myself.
Cadillac ❤🇺🇸
We really enjoyed our time with the Cadillac.
Getting a Cadillac when I can for sure. Better than a BWM for the price and reliability.
I've been very impressed with Cadillac over the past several years now, definitely a good choice!
@@PRNTestDrive That's good to hear. I know someone with an Escalade and they love it. Cadillac gives you better reliability than a German car with most of the same features for half the price.
The BMWs interior looks old and dates

Did the 7 Series ever smooth out its bad reputation for electrical issues and oil leaks?
For this generation we couldn't say to be honest, there's not much info to go on compared with the older cars we feature where we can talk about maintenance and reliability concerns.
I will take the Cadillac' about time Cadillac bring back a real full size sedan! it's only about 2 inches shorter then my 05 Buick Park Avenue and basically just about the same size! Cadillac here I come to even though I'm keeping my Buick'😂

Didn’t know the prices are more in Canada. In US you can get the CT6 fully loaded for UNDER 90K.
Doesn’t help that our dollar is around $0.75 USD currently.
Since I own a 2001 BMW 740il my heart goes out to BMW
I used to own a E38 too. Amazing car but something broke down every week lol
Faizan Mohsin what year was yours mine needs a starter and and battery
Terrence Banton mine was a 2001
Faizan Mohsin I looking at a 2002 BMW 745i but I don't know how reliable are those cars
Terrence Banton not very reliable man. When I got mine I was so happy the first couple of days. I loved that car. But after a few days, things started breaking literally every single day and I was going broke fixing this car so I had to get rid of it.
so the ct6 has no discount?
Any car can have a discount, it’s up to your negotiation and the dealership you go to. This Cadillac is a new model, so we can only compare it at full MSRP like any other review we do, but since the BMW is a year older we wanted to cover all our bases.
Buy the Cadillac and a boat for the same price as the BMW.
Easy choise!
There ya go! We're consistently impressed with Cadillac's sedans.
About 10 years back a friend of mine had a 2001 deville that he used to pull a boat
PRN_TestDrive I'm looking for a really clean 7 series or a S550 I love the 2007-2013 bodystyle S550 before the current bodystyle
But that didn't make the car undriveable (not mechanically sound). BMW, on the other hand, is known for its mechanical failures.
Don't know where the information came from That Cadillacs are Reliable ... that's False Information
Great job on the show brother! 💪🙏👍👏🥊😎🦾

If you said choose Cadilac CT6 5 cars or just one BMW 750li I'll still choose BMW.
So How come can you compare these two?
Because I can do whatever I want :)
Cadillac a whole different beast man
Super agressive design...feels like a concept car
The bimmer might be faster and come with more tech features but is overpriced.
There's no doubt the price of the 7 Series is crazy by comparison.
A Very Outstanding Video... Very Clear.... All always be Honest with Car Reviews
Glad you liked it! We enjoyed putting this one together.
BMW same old lame design. Cadillac New bold design that will be the look for future cars.
@@PRNTestDrive i have a 2003 CTS with 256.985 mile,s on the Motor.

@@PRNTestDrive What there gonna discontinue the CT6???
I like the Cadillac but carbon does not go with wood, and the plastics and switch gear/dash just looks so cheap and gm. You can’t beat the Bmw for premium feel imo
That was something we mentioned in our Spotlight on the CT6, there's a lot of material being used throughout that can make the interior feel too busy. It might work for some people, but we figured the traditional full-size luxury car buyer isn't going to be very interested in 5 different materials making up their dashboard.
Louis James but you pay for it along with every little thing!
Good video. Looking to buy a new ride. My 750 was totaled in an accident. Was looking at a CT6 maybe its me, I like it a lot but the ambient lighting is looking more and more like a deal breaker
I'd try to aim for one of the 2019-2020 models as they updated the styling before killing it off.
Cadillac if you prefer value for money. If your appreciate build quality, handling and craftsmanship then the 7 series is the one! 👌
Bmw quality is shit
Fair enough!
"The only excuse for excessive price is outrageous performance." Enzo Ferrari said that, and the CT6 doesn't measure up to the Bimmer, being around a second slower to 60, and slower in the 1/4 mi as well.
CT6-V has 550hp twin turbos and 10 speed AWD
Fair enough
In china, CT6 platinum 3.0TT 600k RMB,while 750li 1500k(high tax). easy to choose
I can't argue with you there.
This contest is a highlight! Very enjoyable und diverting!

CT6👍
I love the CT6, I really wish I could have featured a 2019/2020.
Cadillac is outstanding
We've been thoroughly impressed with Cadillac this past year.
Heated seats that allow ventilation together cause it to blow warm/hot air to be blown out. It is much warmer than just seat heat.
Good point! Helps to keep your bottom warm and fresh too.
Caddie represents the future in fact it is the future
Hopefully that's true!
When he said "Flappy Panels" I damnear lost it 😂😂

A new Cadillac ct6 will be out next year and it’s way better then the one that’s out now
That's how it is for pretty much every car on earth, the next is always going to be better. We've seen some of the info about the 2019 CT6 and it looks promising!
Would the 740 make more sense in this comparison?
We don't have the 740Li here in Canada, we get the 740e which would probably be best suited for the PHEV version of the CT6 which unfortunately won't be made available on our press fleet here.
Perpetual Radio Networks
Wow, I had no idea!
We really get limited options unfortunately, it's too bad. The first 7 Series offered with a diesel here was the 2014 740Ld, and they killed it off when they launched the G11/G12 the following year.
yes it would have but it would not start to make it. lolol
Caddy!
Great choice!
A-men Brother! It's a great time to be alive!!
Can't argue!
I'll take the bimmer😉
Seems like the BMW is winning this Showdown, but not by much!
You would.
I will take the 7 series because the CT6 looks way to much like a CTS
The same could be said about the 7 Series looking like a 5er, but the CTS/XTS/CT6 all have a very familiar design, I often confused them when I see them on the road, especially the XTS.
Great review bro
We’re glad you think so, thanks!
Love BMW❤️❤️❤️
Glad to hear it!
Would you maybe do the newest Land Cruiser V8?
I don't believe we get the Land Cruiser here, but the Lexus LX 570 is on our list of cars we'd like to feature this year.
The Brits tend to gravitate towards their beloved Range Rovers -.-
I thought BMW or Mercedes retain value so that's a myth everybody spreads it's amazing how the BMW went went down $30,000 a year
BMW and Mercedes are some of the worst for re-sale value. Older M cars have certainly shot up in price recently, but something like the 7 Series depreciates like crazy. In the world of the rich, only the newest and best is in vogue, once it's a couple years old it's time to move on.
A 2012 7 series is about 20k. That’s the price of a cts! Which competes with the 5 series
The reason the BMWs depreciate this fast (like the other Germans) is because out of warranty they really cost a lot of money.
Cadillacs... havent owned one long enough to know how expensive they are to maintain.
In three years, which one will lose the most value?
That really is the question. Hard to say, since actual sold data on used cars is hard to come by, but we know this specific 750Li sold for around $92,000.
BMW BREAKDOWN TO MUCH!!!! PARTS ARE HARD TO FIND IN US ...... CADILLAC IN PERSON IS WAY MORE SEXIER!!!! Cadillac CT6 2019 will blow that bmw away!!!
And fanboys say German cars are better than American cars but look how Cadillac destroyed a German car. I love Mercedes but not bmw.
This CT6 they are showing in this video puts the BMW to shame..
That's ultimately why I sold my own BMW 7 Series.
Perpetual Radio Networks I'm in orange county, California. Come visit when you're tired of the snow!
ill take the Cadillac BMW are starting to get stale.
We were seriously impressed with the CT6, we're taking it again in a couple weeks before it gets sold off!
GM would never be better than the legend BMW.. BMW badge has a way higher value than the entire Cadillac
Hassan Ger 😂😂
Hassan Ger LOL
Hassan Ger .... That is NOT true! Cadillac has been around since 1902 and was once considered to be the ultimate driving machine!
