Thanks a lot, by the way my name is Carl. Thomas was the one who left the previous comment. :) Hope I can keep making lessons that you will find useful! Cheers!! Carl...
Respect to you Carl for working so hard on putting up these lessons! The amount of work you do is amazing and inspiring! My playing has become so much better thanks to you. Much love and support!
@riokuPL Hey, thanks for watching. I use Fender Mist to polish my entire guitar. I use it because my EJ strat has a nitro finish on the neck and body and certain polishing stuff can damage it. :)
Is it essential to follow the same up stroke and down strokes as you have mentioned in the video, i am having a hard time with that. I am much more comfortable with exact opposite of what you have mentioned? Should i work on it and change or that is not every imp. as long as i am getting the execise and fingering right??
That depends. If your fingers hurt on the tips, then that just means your calluses aren't built up yet. If your muscles hurt, it means that you need to practice putting your hands in this position more. Either way, it's all practice.
When you need lear something today, it is only best practice to go back to the origins and begin with learning with basics. Today when you go searching to learn for the videos made in last 2-3 years, all they are based to make you subscribed and paying a lot of money and showing you the targetted content you were looking but without the origins and basics. So my position is to searching an old videos made in the beginning of youtube as the best and effective videos already made at that time by the people who not chased the money but made for themselves
Well that was a good start lol! Good to meet you Carl. Everyone needs to get better, especially me but finding the time has always been a bit of a problem. I need to dedicate more time to learning, if your interested check my last vid, Cheers Carl;) Billy ;)
It requires practice, and btw hammer-ons are all about the speed of the finger, not the actual pressing strength. So focus on coming down very fast (but stay precise, so on the right fret). Also it helps to keep the action of the strings not too high, quite low actually (but going too low might cause fret buzz, just try it out)
Great Thomas, I am glad you found it useful. I certainly will keep them coming!! Cheers!! Carl..

I love Carl brown
Common sense? Where can I get that? Nice pickups, like to hear it turned up.
Good video but I'd like to see what the lick sounds like at full speed before you go diving into the slow motion techniques
Cool legato
It's not really a lick, it's legato practice. It's not meant to sound great as a whole.

Woooahhh I came across a video I never thought I would
I think once you get used to it you will find it more economical. Just try and keep your picking hand relaxed as you are moving across strings. :)
Solid lesson. Thanks
Hey Carl Thanks for the invite :-)) , Im loving it!! Keep it up... looking foreword to more. - Best Regards- Thomas
Cool strat you have! Thanks for the invite!

Your fingers are insanely huge, like robert johnson and that’s why i think you can play easily!

its not about strength or how hard u hit it its about how quickly u can whip it with your finger, but not too quickly that it doesnt sound good.
