It's just an exercise in showing off how much money you have. Realistically it's far too heavy and big to do any serious off roading. That thing isn't going anywhere without at least a logging road already set up. In the case of a zombie apocalypse it makes for a very noticeable and slow target. It's impracticable for anything other than showing off how much disposable income you have.
This is a beautiful piece of equipment here. My only criticism (and its minor) is all the electric steps and step bars, I think these would be more durable and reliable if they were manual. I also think the exterior TV is unnecessary from the perspective of this being a off road vehicle for the great outdoors. That is something I would see on pimp my ride or something! All in all the level of thought, and detail that went into this design is unbelievable.
Canadian Prepper the thought of going wild camping then getting to sit down and watch tv...well just silly...but agree its a great camper for half million dollars ???
+Canadian Prepper I rented a party bus with an outside tv. I found it to be pretty worthless. During the day, you can't see it in bright sunlight. At night, it attracts bugs. When I'm in the market for an rv, I won't be getting a tv for the outside. Come to think of it, I don't want a tv in my rv at all.
Extraordinary feasibility design, greatly well introduced and explained, just brilliant. TOP, TOP, TOP work done. Serious stuff there. Congrats to the designers and team.

Overkill? A friend of mine bought a great, heavy duty military surplus truck that's bigger and tougher (a few thousand, I think). Outfit it with another $20K in survival feature add-ons and it's more than enough to handle 90% of what he might face. $450K extra to cover the last 10% is beyond nuts.
They used a dually rear axle then only use a single rear wheel. Exposing the rotor to rocks. But also shifting the weight not centered on the wheel bearings, but only on the outer bearing. You guys need to better job at the rear axle setup.
I had a coworker in San Francisco that got tired of driving 3 hours a day into the city. Bought an older van conversion, and slept in semi-van friendly parts of the city during the week. Showered at the gym. Later found a new job, sold the van for what he paid.
I'm curious why nobody bothered to put an exterior 110V outlet on the body(or maybe they did and it wasn't mentioned), and how much use anyone would get out of an exterior TV. I mean, a TV inside is nice when you need the kids to relax before bed, or on a day when the rain or snow wiped out your plans. @ 3:22 he shows the 30 amp power connection. As for the tv outside, I've seen several times people sitting out side watching tv. As for the stainless work surface, you got the money they could add it. I think they have a outdoor cooking option, saw it in another youtube video.
That's a 30A 240V shore power connection, to plug the unit into a power source at an RV park or similar situation and bypass the battery system. I'm talking about a standard 15A or 20A 120V receptacle on the exterior camp side, something you could plug into a regular old extension cord into.

You shouldn't use the Super Duty platform, they're unreliable and hard to work on, not to mention foreign countries wont have parts. A Freightliner M2-106 would be a much better starting platform, already equipped with air suspension and compressor, theres no need to major modifications, Cummins ISB 6.7 and Allison 3500 is the best combination you can get on a medium duty truck. Freightliner uses Mercedes parts, Cummins and Allison are used all over the world.
I'm sure they thought of these things when deciding what to build it on. Nobody would built a millionaires road toy on a truck that's unreliable, obviously they did their research and concluded the F550 was their best choice.

How can you tie anything with the positioning of that rear hitch being right under the winch? Didn't look like there was enough room for a hitch to fit under there

i really don't understand how that truck could be worth anywhere near that much money... truck is 100 grand tops and then the biggest fifth wheel you can buy which has 10 times the usability and gizmos and money put into it than the small camper trailer is 100 grand as well.... where is the extra almost 300 grand coming from?
The inefficiency of hand building custom orders with a small team of craftsmen. You're paying them a living, while they put these things together at a snail's pace. Twice the markup of a similar utility big maker RV. They beef if up enough to try to justify the huge sticker price. BTW, $450k is the entry level for these things. I'd love one, but I think they are at least 40% more expensive than they should be.
I make semi-custom software for a living. We charge companies $1000 a month, or $12k a year, for a program that does a few things. Microsoft Office does 100x more, and costs a couple bucks a month. But people happily pay us $1k a month, because otherwise, they wouldn't have the exact thing they want... theyd be stuck trying to make excel and access do somewhat of what they want.
Military Beadlock Rims...can you do a video demonstrating how to remove the tire and why these are better than regular tires, and why is it that the an air ride suspension required? thanks
Believe it or not. I can probably afford this if I financed. (regional sales director for a successful chain of dealerships ). But I'll rather stick with a $8,000 used mid size SUV and $200 worth of gear, and just take a shit in the woods. This recreational machine will only make sense for the "super rich". I find this type a vehicle a hard sale for a small market.

Yea well I remember the high school days at the lake sleeping in the bed of of my $2500.00 dodge ram and a $15.00 sleeping bag.
Did it have a external TV??😋
This is incredible. Bill Swails should think about putting Solar panels on it with all of that space and electric features.
i really don't understand how that truck could be worth anywhere near that much money... truck is 100 grand tops and then the biggest fifth wheel you can buy which has 10 times the usability and gizmos and money put into it than the small camper trailer is 100 grand as well.... where is the extra almost 300 grand coming from?
It's a business, he started the business to make money
The most beautiful truck
Need an onboard compressor and zip gun for all those wheel nuts !!!!!!!!!!!
Tod Lindley it obviously has one for the six air bags it has and it has an air hook up in the back
Military Beadlock Rims...can you do a video demonstrating how to remove the tire and why these are better than regular tires, and why is it that the an air ride suspension required? thanks
I thought that power socket at 9:00 said "Cunt" for a good few seconds.
Love this! It is strong enough to hitch up and haul our ship around!
buy a freaking surplus 6x6 and turn it into a camper. damn.
this is a joy to watch
hmmm where can I get 400000$ ? c'mon brain think!!
lonestr1 it's useless too cuz too much weight for this truck
lonestr1 drugs
lottery ticket
Believe it or not. I can probably afford this if I financed. (regional
sales director for a successful chain of dealerships ). But I'll rather
stick with a $8,000 used mid size SUV and $200 worth of gear, and
just take a shit in the woods. This recreational machine will only make
sense for the "super rich". I find this type a vehicle a hard sale for a
small market.
They only produce 13 per year. They also have over a year's worth of backlogged orders. I think they're doing ok. It's likely a very small company.
Wow! This is an AMAZING vehicle! I need this in my life!
lol typically American, going into the wild to watch TV!
