yes, I am blessed with a wonderful life full of adventure and if you are planning to do so as well, you will also explore the world in an expedition vehicle..
Nice idea fitting the pass through door in the bathroom... Under normal circumstances it's not a door you're gonna use a lot, so sacrificing a wall and it's front space makes little sense. This way you make use of that space. Plus you have a place to clean up if had to get out while driving off-road.
Well specified vehicle! Well executed build out! Excellent video! May I ask several questions: What other base vehicles did you initially consider and why did you choose this one? Diesel tank size?😢 What is the weight as equipped, wet (water and diesel and propane all full) - and what is the maximum permissible weight? In practical road driving, what kind of milage do you average so far? Diesel heater (water and heat) or propane? That engine choice (+ad blue) probably is motivated by local emission rules (and then makes a lot of sense) Can this engine be operated in areas where only much less clean and much higher sulfur content diesel is available? What could it all run on - if need be? You separate drinking water from general water and have the drinking water in containers that seem easy to clean and if need be to replace (makes sense to me). But then I got confused about the filtration. You are not really sending both through the same filters and pipes/hoses - or? Could you please explain?
Hi Ralf, thanks for commenting and watching my video. I used to drive a larger MAN truck from KERKAM in Hamburg, Germany. It was simply too big and clumsy and I often got stuck in from of bridges that did not carry the weight of 13 tons, or tunnels that were not hight enough to pass. So I decided to sell that vehicle and buy a more compact 7.5 ton truck. - And I am very happy that I chose a Mitsubishi Fuso from WOELCKE in Heimseim Germany. So far I drove 15'000 km in the past 9 months, with a average of 14 - 17liter Diesel / 100km. And yes, this is an AdBlue vehicle, Euro6 emission class and I was very lucky to be able to import it from Germany to Switzerland, since the rules for vehicles from the EU are very strict in our country. When you drive in The Central or South Americas, you can adjust the engine to the worse quality diesel without AdBlue by implementing a chip. - But I have not tried that so far. Yes, I do have a diesel heater and I am very happy with it, almost no consumption, but with the floor heating and radiators always nice and warm, even during very cold temperatures. Drinking water: yes, exactly, I use the tree 30l tanks for the drinking water and the tanks can easily be cleaned when I fill up the tanks. And no, the water is not running trough the same tubes, it is filtered by two separate UV filters without getting mixed. I hope I was able to answer your questions. Safe travels, thanks for subscribing and greetings Simon
@@simonjourneyman Is the truck modified to get 7,5ton max weight? I can only find specs for 4x4 fuso with max 6,5ton. (In Norway). I really would like to find a 7,5t 4x4 fuso - and have peace of mind regarding the weight😊…And I have to say that you have made a excellent video, of a wonderful, well thought out -and incredibly well built expedition truck! Woelcke is definitely a company I’m going to contact! Have you considered a Cinderella incineration toilet? It’s something that I consider to install in my next motor home. Best regards Patric
Hello@@patlunde, thanks for commenting and liking my video - all very good questions that I try to answer: The max weight of that vehicle is 7.5t, at least in Switzerland, don't know if its different in other countries, or if my builder had to change the chassis from 6.5 to 7.5 tons? And yes, after having traveled with a heavier MAN truck, the Fuso feels more like an upgraded Mercedes Sprinter, very nice handling, only the engine could be equipped with a bit more power (which some of my fellow Fuso friends upgraded with a tuning-kit) And yes, if fact I am playing with the idea of installing a Cinderella toilet, one of the best toilet systems I think. My compost toilet is ok, but I generally don't like the idea of driving around and collecting the human remains for weeks on end. Happy travels, best regards Simon
Hello Ralf, thanks for watching and commenting. I try to answer all your questions: I was travelling with a lager MAN truck before buying a Fuso. It was simply too big and bulky, specially on narrow streets in Norway, of passing small villages in France. So to me the Fuso seemed like a perfect solution and I am very happy with it. The diesel tank contains 200l. But you can easily install a second, separate diesel tank. The total weight of this build with full tanks is close to 6 tons. The max weight 6.5 tons. but you can upgrade it to 7.5t max. I average about 20-25K km/year and the water and floor- and radiator heater is powered by diesel. Yes, the ad-blue engine is the only street legal diesel engine permitted in Switzerland. Friends of mine currently travelling in South America with the exact same vehicle had to manipulate the engine in order to be able to consume low-grad diesel. According to their experiences this should not be a major problem. An yes, the separate drinking water containers are the perfect solution to be sure that the water you are consuming is fresh and the containers always clean. And no, I am not sending the regular water and drinking water through the same pipes. Safe travels, best Simon
Hi, your side doors, did you source the handle and locking mechanism, or was it part of the door when you built it? I have been looking for these handles and a multipoint locking mechanism but can't find anyone who sells them separately
Hi Terry, I chose those multy-point locking doors when I ordered the truck from the manufacturer in Germany. I think it is a complete system, including the lock within the door. It locks on the top and on the bottom of the vehicle. Maybe its best to check out the exact details with the builder: Woelcke in Heimsheim Germany, if you have problem reaching them, give me holler and I thry to figure it out. Good luck, best Simon
A beautiful build and great video! Cheers! I dont want to be rude, but how much did the entire build with the truck cost you, something like this is a dream of mine. Edit :- i checked, its in lower 300k euros from your other comment. With house price rising evrywhere i think so this is bloddy brilliant! And i guess you save a tonne too. 1. How much do you spend on average on petrol? And whats the mileage in km do you get? 2. Also sorry if i have missed but whts the total length of the vehicle in metres? Agains goes without aaying brilliant build and love the layout! Absolutely fantastic great work!
You're not being rude at all, the price range of this build is in the low 300K€, but for me personally worth every penny :-) I have met travellers in similar vehicles they built themselves and it cost the half of what I paid. So there's always a solution if you really do the research. Happy build and travels, cheers Simon
That would be perfect for me, my fart prone dog and my semi tame wild cat and in case you’re wondering he’s very protective of my dog and me. I know who’d get the large bed , my dog and wild cat and I’d get the breakfast bar built it’s a refreshing change to watch a video like yours where there’s no hard sell but rather showing an off road home that’s tasteful and classy. 🙏
Thanks for the great compliment, James. I have also travelled with a dog, great for security reasons, but also a bit limiting to where you can go, customs etc. - But hey, they are our best friends and maybe some day a stray "destiny dog" will cross my path. I watch a lot of youtube, and I must say this is one of the most beautiful builds I've seen. Could you share a rough price estimate? Great video btw :)
Really nice video and build. I like how the box is fitted to the chassis. This makes a lot of sense. It would be great to see more of the structure of the build and the process of the build. Was it a pre-built box that you fitted, or was it a box that you had built specifically for purpose?
Hi Dion, thanks for watching and commenting. The chassis is provided by Fuso, but altered from the engineers from WOELCKE, Germany. The box was built according to my specification, within the possible limits of that truck. Unfortunately I have no shots of the actual built in the early stages. (whiting I would have them..) Maybe a contact to WOELCKE HEIMSHEIM GERMANY could resolve that. Safer travels to you, best Simon
My kind of vehicle, like the Mercedes 4X4 vans that are adapted for off road, lifted suspension and big wheels and tyres etc. but the main thing is a toilet and shower and heating haha. Excellent layout.
Hi Simon, incredible vehicle. Congratulations. One question.. I see it is a new Fuso model requiring Adblue. Is this an issue when traveling remotely to less developed regions like Africa ?
Hello Diego, thanks for watching, I have never traveled in Africa, but my friends travelling with the same vehicle and build are currently traveling South America and they temporarily converted their engine to work without Adblue. So there are always solutions to travel wherever you want to go. Safe travels and thanks for watching Simon
Hallo, ja, die Einzelbereifung ist in der CH - neben anderen Belangen - tatsächlich ein Thema. Stunning vehicle. Excellent build quality.
Many thanks!
It was a pleasure to watch your video. The edit, the transitions, camera work, light, and presentation are just perfect.
The camper itself is just fantastic! You are a true engineer and what a pleasure to see the result of all your imagination and engineering skills. The floor plan is perfect. Everything is so beautiful and clean. Just in the places where they should be. I wish you all the best, interesting traveling, and meeting great people. You did an amazing job. Huge respect.
And I have 2 questions:
1) could you please tell me the dimensions of the shower place (length and width) and
2) dimensions of the toilet room (with toilet and sink) as well as length and width.
Thank you very much
Hello, thanks for your generous compliments, yes, it is a very beautiful build and I am enjoying my truck every single day. I normally don't send out specific measurments of my build, however I can send you a floorplan via mail, if you provide an email address, since I can't / won't upload it on my channel. Thanks again, best Simon
@simonjourneyman Hi, Simon! Thank you very much, it would be awesome❤️
Appreciate that
@simonjourneyman I commented two times and UA-cam deleted my comments because it was mail acres in them. Your website is not working anymore.
Could you please add your email in the description of your channel and I will write to you. I see this as the only way to connect with you. Then you will delete your email from your channel description if you don't want to share it.
I am just in the process of designing a camper for myself and I just want to check measurements for the shower and for the toilet.
Thank you!
@@neurogarlion Hi, yes I know the limits of UA-cam. Please check out SAF SIMON AEBY FILMS - that leads you to SWISSFILMS and the email to my company. withy my private email. See you there :-)

Perfekte Vorstellung, sehr schönes Expeditionsmobil👍👍👍
Danke Michael! Safe travels
I love this . I love the way everything is hidden and I think you are a genius at design.
thank you, rubberdc, not everything designed by me, but most of it. Thanks for commenting, cheers Simon
Thanks for sharing! I like the narration, and I love the appearance and ambience of or similarities of a military truck and a cabin inside beautiful ships, It also resembles beautiful areas partitions of an airplane or small yachts!
Thanks Napoleon Gardening and Adventure TV.. I also like the color a lot, very different from all the white/beige vans in the streets. And yes, a bit like a military truck - which might also be a bit of a problem travelling in political unstable countries like South America... safe travels to you and thanks for subscribing Simon
Wow! This vehicle is spectacular. Everything about it is perfect, including all the interior design choices. Well done!
Thanks for the compliment. After owning two other travel car, this one really works best and also saves a a cozy home on wheels. Thanks for watching, cheers Simon
Simply spectacular, one question, What´s above the cab? More storage space?
thanks idordonez, yes, exactly, more storage space.. cheers Simon
Very impressive, practical, and clean! Great design.
Glad you like it!
Beautiful, rigid, well-laid out and functional motorhome. Enjoy it!
Thank you Walter, I am definitely enjoying it. All the best to you and thanks for watching.
Sir. I have just watched your video and I must say you have a very nice and beautiful house on wheels. May i wish you many many safe and amazing journeys in it. A true comfortable memory maker.
Thank you so much for your comment. Yes, I enjoy my vehicle and mobile home every day. Right now I am winter camping in the Swiss alps where it was -30C last night... and still cozy warm in here.. Safe travels Simon
Great expedition vehicle. Will be building mine soon. I love the simplistic and minimalistic approach. love it
thank you, Atsu and good luck building your own dram vehicle, safe travels Simon
Awesome, absolutely awesome!
And beautifully presented as well...👌
Thanks! 👍
Excellent review!!!
One of the best tours I've seen and a Beautifully made truck (and perfectly formed !) the craftsmanship is obvious . Thanks for the film
thank you justin, It is a great joy to travel with it every day.. more adventures coming up soon, best Simon
Watching your videos makes my sleep often dream that I am in this mobile home and exploring beautiful nature. It seems really fun huh..
yes, I am blessed with a wonderful life full of adventure and if you are planning to do so as well, you will also explore the world in an expedition vehicle..
Amazing camper! Good use of the Fuso platform.
thank you!
Amazing vehicle. It must be a pleasure to travel in this, you have thought of everything
thanks you, yes, my vehicle is everythng I ever dreamt of and I am living in it full time for 3 years now.. amazing! thanks for watching
Nice idea fitting the pass through door in the bathroom... Under normal circumstances it's not a door you're gonna use a lot, so sacrificing a wall and it's front space makes little sense. This way you make use of that space. Plus you have a place to clean up if had to get out while driving off-road.
Beautiful build, i hope you will enjoy it.
thanks for watching, Butnaru, yes, I am enjoying it daily.. :-)
Gracias, disfrute mucho el Tour de tu camión...Muy buena distribución
muchos gracias Jorge, nos veremos en España en marzo.. ✌
Thanks for the upload. Very enjoyable.
Glad you enjoyed it
Well specified vehicle!
Well executed build out!
Excellent video!
May I ask several questions:
What other base vehicles did you initially consider and why did you choose this one?
Diesel tank size?😢
What is the weight as equipped, wet (water and diesel and propane all full) - and what is the maximum permissible weight?
Hi Ralf,
thanks for commenting and watching my video.
Safe travels, thanks for subscribing and greetings Simon
.. the weight is 6.5 tons with empty tanks, the max weight 7.5 tons. The gas tank is 200 l and the water tank 25o l.
Best regards
Patric
Hello@@patlunde, thanks for commenting and liking my video - all very good questions that I try to answer: The max weight of that vehicle is 7.5t, at least in Switzerland, don't know if its different in other countries, or if my builder had to change the chassis from 6.5 to 7.5 tons? And yes, after having traveled with a heavier MAN truck, the Fuso feels more like an upgraded Mercedes Sprinter, very nice handling, only the engine could be equipped with a bit more power (which some of my fellow Fuso friends upgraded with a tuning-kit)
And yes, if fact I am playing with the idea of installing a Cinderella toilet, one of the best toilet systems I think. My compost toilet is ok, but I generally don't like the idea of driving around and collecting the human remains for weeks on end. Happy travels, best regards Simon
Hello Ralf, thanks for watching and commenting. I try to answer all your questions:
I was travelling with a lager MAN truck before buying a Fuso.
Safe travels, best Simon
to be honest with you, the best plan for everything inside and outside.
awesome review, awesome vehicle!
Glad you like it!
Great design and high quality build.
Many thanks Carlo! :-)
Clean & Practical love it
Thanks!
Wow beautiful sharing my friend... watching from Malaysia 👍😎
Thank you Wilson, Malaysia is on my bucket list as well..
Loved your video.Keep on rocking!
Thank you! Will do!
Tanks for watching!
Cool and best camper van layout design and best detail. 👍
Thanks! 👍
Very nice build. Well done. Lots of space without "clutter".
Thanks! 👍
Very well put together, great video, thanks!
thank you Tuvia
Great use of space in such an elegant presentation. It doesn't look like all that should fit from the outside!
thank you. I thought the exact same thing when I bough the truck: how does all of the fit in..:_)
Ohhh you have a very formidable van. I like all of it 👍💪😊
thank you very much, I am high up in the Swiss mountains with it right now... enjoying the snow :-)
Thank you for the tour of your camper. Such a calm space.
Good luck and safe travels to you, best Simon
Super nice build. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
This is one of the best Ive seen. Please some details on the builder and where this can be purchased
Hi Spiro, thanks for watching. Yes, this is my 3dr expedition vehicle and by far the best. You will find their different models in Germany: www.woelcke.de/allradwohnmobile.html
@@simonjourneyman thank you for the reply..safe travels
im looking into building something similar in the future, could you list the company you used to buy it from and the cost please?
Hi Joy, my vehicle was built by Woelcke in Germany. www.woelcke.de check out their website for all the models they build. The price range for my vehicle was in the low 300K €. Good luck with your build and safe travels Simon
I watch a lot of youtube, and I must say this is one of the most beautiful builds I've seen. Could you share a rough price estimate? Great video btw :)
Thank you Guy and thanks for watching. The price range for this build is in the low 300K €.
Очень интересный автодом. Отличная компоновка, на минималках и всё есть. Удачных путешествий
Thank you very much, and safe travels to you!
love the layout!
thanks for watching and commenting 🙂
Great video - well built, perfect floor plan, perfect size.
thanks Dillon, and yes perfect size, much better than the bigger unpractical truck I used to drive before, cheers and thanks for watching
Fantastic build.
What did it cost you, ballpark?
Ballpark 300K Euros..
Gr8 video & love your floor plan
Thank you, tahir, cheers Simon
Wonderfull vehicle. I also like the pleasent way you describe it.
thank you very much, eyalofer.. 🙂
Where is this manufactured at? Beautiful
hermoso vehiculo, para grandes viajes .............. felicitaciones !!
Muchos gracias señor :-))
You have done an amazing job sir!
.. many thanks Gideon! really appreciate it and safe travels to you...
Fold up sink: genious!
yes, perfect!
My kind of vehicle, like the Mercedes 4X4 vans that are adapted for off road, lifted suspension and big wheels and tyres etc. but the main thing is a toilet and shower and heating haha. Excellent layout.
you are so right, I built it practically around the toilet and shower ;.)
Excellent truck(home!). Wishing you many safe and enjoyable journeys!!
thank you, Birender, tiny home on wheels was the intention indeed. Best Simon
I really like you set up. I think it’s one of my top choices.
Thank you Chico, I looked at many many builds and this one really works perfect for me, not too small and not to big. Safe travels, best Simon
Lovely vehicle. Greetings from Jamaica.
Tanks Lawrence, greetings back from Switzerland. Is it safe to travel in your country with a rig like that? Just curious. Best Simon
@@simonjourneyman Yes it is. Actually i am planning on doing a box truck conversion as a camper in the near future.
@@lawrencedavidson6195 great plan, wishing you all the best with the truck conversion, cheers Simon
Good luck, falls du auch so was planst und safe travels Simon
@simonjourneyman Bravo ! Da häsch glück gah. I würds gar nid mache, nur normal Felge Kaufe, MFK damit und hop einzelbereifig druf und adieu... De ganz papier kramm nervt eifach...aber schös auto häsch viel spass damit

very nice tour. Thanks for taking the trouble to make it.
Thanks Claude for watching it! Nice travels to you :-) cheers Simon
so far i like this one functional and easy to maintain
yes, Jan, very functional :-) Thanks Simon
I would like to know how the cab was connected to the box. What was added??
Hi, you can see that in the video: in the back it as fully mounted to the frame of the vehicle and in the front it rests on rubber blocks allowing the cabin to move freely with the movement of the chassis. Thanks and safe travels Simon
