I cannot relate more. It's got the same _something_ as it did at the peak of DT. Like the best of I&W/SFAM/6DOIT/LTE1&2 and Petrucci's solo albums. It's like forward-looking nostalgia. Incredible feeling.
LTE has a bit more of a lighter atmosphere than DT, all the while being extremely technical and indulging. IDK how they manage to get those contradictions into their music, but it IS SO GOOD!
When Petrucci and Portnoy unite, the result is pure magic. No one accentuates Petrucci's notes like Portnoy, real soul, real flow. And his kit just sounds SO good.

Love this track - the guitar solos are super fun to play. The fast legato parts in the main solo make you feel like you're flying and the melodic parts at the end are awesomely soulful - reminiscent of The Best of Times' outro. Can't wait for the new album!
Coming to the conclusion that we have benefited so much since mike left dt, he has some great projects and now 2 albums in a year with John things aren’t that bad 😄
I wonder if Petrucci looks at Portnoy the same way he looks at Mangini. They have such a strong not only musical conection (so many years playing together) that is amazing, I guess It could be hard going back to rehearsals with DT after this.
