Hello Andy. I handwork metal and my last project was an antique axehead and handle. I spent 5 days, not hours, hand polishing a rusted out 120 year old axehead with steel wool and mineral oils. When the sun shines on it people swear its translucent. I know it is but I don't need to swear. The peace these silent moments bring me are what gives a life substance. When I watch you create, I'm proud to be part of your species.

That's amazing! Shows what beauty a little imagination and a lot of skill can accomplish. You seem to have a true sculptor's ability to look at a block of wood or whatever and know exactly what shape or image you want to release from it. Almost like you could see what was hidden inside it.

@@whiterose5083 The talents some people possess are astonishing, aren't they? I wish I was that artistic, but at least it gives me a glimpse of the possibilities. However, I'll always know that I am just a copyist and not a real artist.

Truly gorgeous turning from an initially inauspicious piece of wood.

Oh thank god. I was watching another guy's wood turning video, and he somehow thought it was a good idea to show it all in real time...no fast-mo.
    Amazing work, BTW.

Holy shit man, I'd never be brave enough to put that thing on my lathe without some extreme belt sanding first. Exotic grain turned out nicely though.
