How do we have a 10 minute long video about power rotary scissors that doesn’t show how they were connected and setup, how much they cost (after saying they are expensive several times) or even shows them in action with the sound on (after mentioning that they are loud)? Not a lot of info in this one Jimmy.
I can confirm they are pretty loud. It was definitely noticeable when I visited last year. The trade off is they do work great. Looks really clean when you're done.
Excellent tool, on my second because I didn't maintain the first one properly. $130 here in Europe,. They don't spit grass all over the house like a strimmer, the grass falls where it is cut. Very precise, and this time I'll make sure I grease it properly every 4-5 garden cuts (25 hours).
You always give solid reviews on different tools and products that are on the market. We in the lawn care community really appreciate that. We also appreciate your honesty in your reviews. Thanks for how you do things on your channel and keep up the great work.
@@JimmyLewisMowsDo you use the Rotary Scissors at the same frequency that you Reel Mow? For example if you Reel Mow 2x/Week would you also Rotary Scissor the Edges 2x/Week? Or could you get away with Reel Mowing 2x/Week and only using the Rotary Scissors once a week?
This is a gentleman's tool - designed elegantly for the enthusiast who values detailing. Even with rotary mowing, the scissors have multiple applications. Great for a sharp beveled cut around a garden bed or tapering the transition between different heights of cut.
The reason why some battery weed whackers have the motor at the end of the shaft is efficiency. Quite a bit of energy is lost spinning a shaft from the top of the unit.
Great review Jimmy and sweet set up. I have the Stihl Combi and have been debating on these. I think I’m still going to pass since my front and back are all TTTF.
Hey Nate. If you're looking at the pink flowers near the fountain, those are knockout roses. They're awesome. Only downside is they don't have a scent to them.
Also it’s heavy. This thing gives me a good workout on the chest muscles. Maybe on the Milwaukee setup it looks shorter. On my Ego Combo it’s perfect. I like that grip tho 😎🤘🏼
I recently purchased a darwins grip along with a rotary scissor. My problem is if turn the rotary scissor on its side to edge, the darwins grip get in the way. How do you deal with that problem? I think I almost have to invest in another trimmer. One to be dedicated to the rotary scissor and one for a string trimmer that I can use the darwins grip on. Your thought's?? Thanks for your info you put out. Good job
I don’t edge with mine. I use Toro’s 60V stick edger for sidewalk/driveway edges and my string trimmer on curbs and natural edges. ua-cam.com/video/vQZJqSDSWCM/v-deo.html
great video....two questions: can I buy the electic battery milwaukee power stick without the string trimmer and what do you use to edge along drive/sidewalks....does the milwaukee accept an edger attachment?
Jimmy: I’m running the same setup but I can’t work out how to mount my scissors in the correct orientation with the Milwaukee unit, my head is perpendicular to the body. Please reveal your magic!
Thank you for the review and for mentioning the grip attachment. Currently doing my due diligence ahead of purchasing one of these. I see a number of reviewers complaining about how tiring it can be to use the rotary scissors on longer jobs. The manufacturer says the "bottom disk is designed to rest on the ground and prevent scalping" - have you attempted this? Maybe it didn't work? Would you mind commenting on this? Here is a video from the manufacturer giving this thing an absolute beating while mentioning the bottom disk should sit on the ground: ua-cam.com/video/f6RBz2cL4fg/v-deo.html And here is a brochure that says "just place on the ground" www.idech.co.jp/cwp/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Power-Rotary-ScissorsV.pdf

Thanks, William I really appreciate that.
I have the PAS225. Works just fine. 👍
Expensive game changer 😂
Excellent video! Taking care of your lawn in general is an investment, but as you said, reel mowing takes it to a whole new level!
So, so true.

Great review and you touched on some things others haven’t, good job!
This is the one tool I couldn't live without now.

Milwaukee now has their own QUIK-LOK Reciprocator Attachment. I don't find it loud at all.
3 seasons using mine and I've never greased it lol. Also treat it like poop. Edge with it and have used it to cut roots haha great tool.
I need this in my life! Great video, Jimmy.
So glad that I made the purchase, and yes it is loud....
Thanks for the video, the idea to get two separates equipment is not bad. I will consider it at some point!
Those power scissors look great! I would love to give them a try!

First Aussie 😁. Jimmy, another great review video. 😎👍👍
I’ve been wanting these for a year and keep going back and forth on what to do
Just pull the trigger they are awesome. I do all my edging with them as well. I also put them on a milwaukee string trimmer.
@@austinolson7785 what size trimmer? I was gonna put one on a Stihl 56 if it would turn it fast enough
@@_bradjohnson Just a standard milwaukee 18v string trimmer.
Just got some for Father's day!

Me need gorilla grip, me back hurt lots 😂
Do it
Hey Jimmy, over your right shoulder in the beginning part of the video, are those hydrangeas or some sort of rhododendron? The pinky flowers.

Really great to use against fences and around pools since it doesn't throw grass and beat things up like a string head.
100%

Such a good video man i cant wait to buy mine !!!
I really want to get these… like bad! I’m debating whether I should jump in or just kill off the edges in my backyard that need string trimming.

The good part is that you just need to buy the extension adapter for the Milwaukee string trimmer and add the scissors to the extension 🙂
Holy cow am I first? Thanks for the rotary segment. The grease is a must.

Why not EGo?
Can the blade damage if you get close to a brick wall around the house wall or to a tree
Potentially.
Did you ever get the rotary scissors to work with the Toro power head?
Nope
Would these be any good for clearing tall grass/weeds?
You think ryobi 25.4cc cycle well work
What’s that long handle . I’m like 6’8 and everything is short
Never mind you just talked about it :)
So all we did was talk about it? How do u install it?
How is that thing up against foundations and PVC fences
It's good. I try not to be terribly aggressive, but it's very helpful. The only issues are corners.
just checked and the darwin is not available any longer
I believe they have a new version.

Is that Zoysia?
Bluegrass
I wish I could afford that!!!! Damn you COVID!!!
What do you mean step down the rabbit hole? The rabbit hole does not have steps. The rabbit hole is a steep slide!
😂😂😂 okay you’re right
Hey guys I’m selling a power rotary scissors brand new never used for $250 if anybody would like it ?
What do you do In the winter to get away from your wife?
6 minutes and I see no rotary scissors in action, fail. Less talk more show and tell.
We’ll shoot. I just watched it back again and there’s action at 1:24. Even an oddly satisfying slow motion clip.
